Anyone have any advice for taking decent photos?

I decided to make a new Instagram account where I'll try to only post interesting / quality photos, but fuck I didn't realise how hard it is to position things, find the right light, pose, find a good angle to take the shot from, and then actually look good in photos or if it's not me in the photo at least make it interesting.

Not to mention how awful phone photos turn out, but I'm too poor to buy a real camera. How the fuck do these Instagram kids do it with their phone?

don't worry, low-contrast cell pics are an aesthetic in themself. good IGs are always about overall aesthetic than individual image quality anyway. if you need to then play with contrast / saturation in vsco but generally don't try too hard, the best IGs are casual so grainy cellphone pics are fine

anyway follow some cool accounts and you'll get a feel for what kind of photography you like

Most of those follower sites and apps just get you bot followers. The ones that get you real followers use a bot to auto like and comment on stuff for exposure in large volume. Both are p pathetic IMO. I'd rather have a small following that actually likes my aesthetic
