I cut down on coffee enough where my stomach won't get upset skipping breakfast (doing IF / 12pm to 6pm eating window).

Think it will help?

I hope this starts to fix my poor insulin sensitivity and raises my metabolism back. Lately I've been hungry and feeling cold, which someone told me is my BMR lowering rather than it just being less bodyfat. I'm not eating super little calories but watching that YouTube on IF yesterday seems you don't even need to for the metabolism to start fucking up.

wait help with what exactly

Never had a problem with coffee during IF.
A lot of people say it suppresses your appetite, which makes it very helpful if you have trouble fasting.
I drink 1-3 cups during morning/early noon and usually eat between 5 and 7pm.

Remember no fat slutty legs allowed

My slowing metabolism due to low calorie eating. What got me thinking about it was this:
youtube.com/watch?v=v9Aw0P7GjHE

For me it was giving me some uneasy feeling in my stomach. I just cut it down to one Nespresso per day, which is really all I should have anyways. Last week weaned myself down. I think the Nespresso is shit coffee too, which is part of the problem, but, it's what is at the office and I'm too lazy to want to wake up earlier and make my own.

..shit, posted wrong link. Here is the right one:

I cant trust someone who says "right?" at the end of every other sentence. He talks like a scam-master, "we all know that x is bad", "everybody knows that".

If you're used to coffee it might help you to stop drinking it for a while until you loose the tolerance then start again
I don't think I've ever heard about coffee fucking with insulin sensitivity, it usually is just found to help weight loss in people who don't drink regularly
But it's possible it's literally just that I haven't heard

>For me it was giving me some uneasy feeling in my stomach
Yeah it's probably a good idea to stop either way, caffeine can be really bad for heartburns and such - if you didn't have problems there would be no point but since you do it's best to stop before it gets worse
I never drink coffee but I had to cut down on tea during IF and your stomach does calm down a bit after a while
+ like I said you develop tolerance to it, but you can reset it by stopping for a while (no clue how long since I never tried it, month would probably be ok)

what's considered a thin thigh circumference

He seems to back it up with research, and is hardly the only one saying the same thing. I'd love to see counter arguments though.

Oh I wasn't saying coffee was fucking up my insulin sensitivity, I meant eating all through the day was. What I've been experiencing is a slow down in my weight loss, which is normal as I get thinner, but apparently fasting can help keep the metabolism burning stronger because when insulin doesn't spike the body burns from the stored fat.

depends on your height

5'-5'5" 16 inches and below
5'6"-5'9" 19inches and below

5'10"-6' 22 inches and below

I had a dream I got so hungry I ate a bunch of orbeez and then threw them all up later after they expanded in my stomach. I really miss pasta

I'm really hungry right now. Do IF hunger pains go away after I get used to it?

how come your avatar never loses any weight fatanon

I guess I'll always feel fat. Far from an avatar though, feel free to use fatwojaks whenever you're feeling fat. I just feel fat a lot... because I am fat.

Less fat now though, finally 160-lbs.

wait, i thought IF was supposed to help your metabolism even if you didn't restrict that much?

I think it is. The reason I'm doing it is because I'm struggling to eat little enough calories to keep progressing and I think my low calorie diet has slowed my metabolism. Apparently doing IF should hopefully make it where I can burn a bit more at rest and maybe increase my BMR a bit.

I think from over a year of restricted eating I've slowed my metabolism to a crawl. Part of that is I'm just smaller, but I've been reading/watching that it's not just that.

oh, that makes sense. i was a little confused by your wording.

I watched a couple of his videos yesterday. The logic seems pretty sound but at the same time he says that CICO doesn't work and it's not your fault for getting fat or gaining the weight back after dieting, which is just not true. If someone else here is able to inform the effects of fasting on BMR without biased evidence that would be fantastic

On a side note I ate ~2k calories yesterday so I'm fasting today for the first time in my 6+ month diet. Wish me luck anons! ^_^

Hey, I posted on here before. I just need some advice on how to loose a small amount of weight. I am kinda defined at the moment. As a guy are women attracted to skinny guys or guys with some definition like me at the moment? Or just big dudes with muscles

>tfw 5'2 midget
Sounds accurate for my legs though thank

How long are you doing IF?
Give it a week or two

If it's hard to do maybe try easing into it, add an hour of fast every day or even every two days

>As a guy are women attracted to skinny guys or guys with some definition like me at the moment? Or just big dudes with muscles
It really depends on a girl honestly
I think all bodytypes except morbidly obese and full auschwitz have a big enough "fanbase" to make generalizations impossible

just like dudes, different women have different tastes

good luck!
i'm several hours into a 48 hour fast, though i'm not exactly sure how much i overate yesterday so hopefully i can make some more progress after the next few days.

ilu frof

I'm thinking about doing a ketogenic diet beginning on Friday. Anyone have any experience with it?

Yeah it's okay in the short run bot otherwise kinda shit

So would you say its a safe bet to stay how I am? I am not chubby and I an not Auschwitz skinny either.

if you're not fat then don't lose the weight. why would you want to make yourself physically weaker if it's not for your own personal taste

Yeah that also triggered me a bit, but really what he was saying was that what we do now has a high failure rate and there is science that shows a physiological reason why that is. I agree "it's not your fault" is toxic, but also I'm highly motivated and still would like my BMR to be as high as possible. If my resting expenditure can be higher, I'm all ears.

I agree though, we should keep checking on all of this.

Good luck on your fast.

Does eating "zero-calorie" (celery, pickles, sugarfree gum, etc) foods affect IF? Also, if I squirted some lemon juice into my water this morning did that break my fast?

This is probably a stupid question but it's been a while since I took a bio class.

Pickles and celery have a decent amount of calories. So does most sugarfree gum.
I don't usually count calories from these but for a fast you might want to stay under 10cal. (Or 30cal if it's a whole day).

Personally, I got really bad keto flu every time I tried to the point where last time I had to stay in bed sick all day. However, I do know people who love ketogenic diets and who don't have a lot of trouble with them. I think one of the reasons why it's hard for me is that fruits and vegetables are a large staple in my diet, and I don't eat a lot of foods high in protein/fat.

tl;dr everyone is different. Give it a try and if it doesn't work try something else.

From observing people I know, it seems to be most effective if you're really overweight and committed to reading up on it carefully. I'd suggest looking at the keto tags on IG to get a sense of what people eat daily and their results.

>and it's not your fault for getting fat or gaining the weight back after dieting, which is just not true.
I think what he's really saying is that the diets that are promoted are wrong: eat a bunch of little small meals throughout the day. The average "mealcuck" is continually burning glucose rather than fat because they keep their feedings so often. They will spend most of the day trapped in a cycle of eating every few hours, spiking glucose, and then becoming hungry when blood sugar drops. CICO still holds true, and you can certainly get thin while still having insulin resistance, but just be miserable in the process because you're body will make you feel super hungry all the time because it's gotten so used to craving that glucose. So as soon as they run out of glucose from their last meal, instead of seamlessly transitioning to the fasted state and mobilizing and burning stored body fat, they become hungry for more glucose instead (from carbohydrates).

With intermittent fasting, you can improve your insulin resistance and get to where your body is better at accessing the fat stores to burn energy, rather than it holding on to grab on to new glucose - signalling your brain to be hungry all the time.

Low carb diets do the same thing really, but I find fasting a lot easier.

Thank. I'm not overweight but definitely trying to shed off at least ten pounds. I'll do some more research on it and give it a try! Thanks again anons

Good for short term weight loss, bad for long term because of damaging effects on the body.

Lose a certain amount then get off it.

Not trying to shill IMF but I'm on my third or so week of it and I find that it really shows you how much of your hunger is real and how much of it is just your body accustomed to eating at certain times. Even if fasting isn't your thing, I think I'd really recommend it as an intro to weight loss/healthy eating.

>6' tall, thighs 19"
>waist is still 27.5"
I hate being a guy

I think some of that is as your body gets better at grabbing energy from your fat stores rather than just glucose, you get the hungry signals less. It seems to take a few days to see the improvement, but then it's amazing how the morning hunger seems to dissipate.

On weekends I've been having breakfast for social reasons, but I keep it no carb so that I keep that insulin under check still.

>mfw all this IF discussion

Yeah, morning hunger was my biggest problem so fasting has worked miracles on my diet overall. Since I lost the first 25-30lbs by eating a donut for breakfast and almost nothing else I developed intense cravings for sweets as soon as I wake up, and it's finally going away.

Thanks for that first bit, I really need to read up more on insulin and fat storage and all that.

Here's some outfit thinspo. If anyone else has videos like this that they like please post :)

youtube.com/watch?v=erdzwfL8XwI&t=2s

youtube.com/watch?v=aby1WTtj3Mw

this might be off topic, but it seems from previous threads that some anons in here are girls and /cgl/ browsers. are there enough of us to start a small girls-only thinspo group?

That sounds kinda nice actually! Seagull here; what sort of group would this be?

>youtube.com/watch?v=aby1WTtj3Mw
I'm on nofap, four more days to go, and that video was so hard to watch.

Watch the video posted here and read The change seems to happen pretty fast anecdotally, because I've seen multiple anons over the past year or two I've been in this thread saying things like "when I eat breakfast I'm so hungry all day, but when I skip it and eat a late lunch I'm not that hungry all day"

been drinking a lot of water lately
can't tell if weight is fluctuating a lot or if my scale is broken

Fuck off Kinobody

If I do IF and start with an eating window of between 12pm and 7pm, should I just eat lunch and dinner? Would having a snack inbetween be bad?

make the window smaller and later in the day

try 4-8pm

Okay thanks

why nofap and why limit it?

Just had my first meal, double turkey burger, each patty is 200 calories so adding in the bread it's like ~600 calories. Overestimating a bit but I always overestimate.

It's 3 PM and I feel so full. Going to the gym later and maybe I'll have some soup afterwards.

...

I just wanted to try it out. I'm not a chronic masturbator or porn-obsessed, usually I fap once a week. Bit curious to see if I don't fap for two weeks and then have a nice long edging fap session if the resulting orgasm will be amazing. The main reason I only fap once a week is for the better orgasms, so, going to see if two makes them better. Quality over quantity.

I'm a bit afraid of having a wet dream though. What a fucking mess and then it would ruin my huge two week backlog of jizz. So, hoping that doesn't happen.

jezus FUCK she is hot

how much do you weigh?

it probably wouldn't make too much of a difference, as long as the calories you eat would be the same. though 7 hours is on the long side for IF i think

Yeah I have just been trying it out, going to keep increasing the time.

i did nofap a few months ago aswell. wet dreams aren't that bad, just change your bedsheets.

waiting extra long for le huge orgasm seems kinda retarded to me tho

how many weeks before the wet dreams start? that's a huge pain in the ass man, what a mess.

dont begin on friday thats what morons do

>mfw only dinner left and still have 1000 calories in my budget for the day

Same. Feels good but I sometimes overeat at night so still have to be vigilant.

120

ayy my gw! I'm 139 atm
I have the same problem. My parents came up and bought icecream bars, then left them in my freezer. My one saving grace is that I live far away from the store and have discipline while shopping, and they do this to me?

My dad killed me the other day by ordering some insanely good desert while I was in the bathroom, then got an extra spoon and fork for me.

Throw out those ice cream bars right now. Just go do it.

Is fruit bad, even in moderation? It's all sugar.

No, fruit isn't bad.

There are also important vitamins/minerals in fruit, and a lot of fiber as well as the sugar. I try to prioritize veggies, but I eat a lot of fruit as well
;__;

So just a bit of fruit per day? like maybe 100 calories worth?

>youtube.com/watch?v=eIXrraTH22c
Damn I wish I had big boobs

I am 6'4, to truly be /thinspo/ how much I be weighing in at?

100 cal is literally 1 apple. You shouls already be taking a multivitamin, but especially if you plan to eat like that.
152lbs or less imo

what do you think of violin hips? i lost 10 kg and i noticed that i have this weird hip dip, i wanna lose 10 kg more, will my skin become loose?
height: 170 cm
starting weight: 73 kg
rn: 63 kg
goal: 53 kg

>*rattles*
Frequent participator here: Are you sucking in? You look unhealthy otherwise.

considering he said he had a 27.5 inch waist, I think pic is not him? I think

not from /cgl/ but I might be interested!

Is my Montreal pastrami fa?

...

Is 6 hours also long? Should I make it 4 hours?

Too bad you had nothing to do with it, faggot. Some non-spergs had to get in here to get it to happen. What's it like being so disliked?

Yeah that's definitely not me. I wish though

Give them to homeless people. Australia I assume?

does the eating window really matter for doing IF properly? I tend to just eat a quick meal before getting ready for bed so my eating window is technically like 30 minutes. Should I try to space it out with a snack or something?

went 100 calories over my budget today :c
any tips to prevent this?

>youtube.com/watch?v=aby1WTtj3Mw

holy fuck she's so pretty i feel like a failure as a non-penis creature

Don't.

don't put the food in your mouth silly

if it was a problem of eating a meal that was accidentally too big, try cutting it in half and saving the rest for tomorrow?

5'10-11 female here
Whats a good goal weight

Mine is 6 hours and it works fine. You can always shorten it eventually if you feel you need to

im really fucking stupid can someone tell me how many cals are in one bag of this popcorn

the age-old question

i need to know

throw it out. popcorn is bad because it expands your stomach

90 per bag popped

Go to like 125 and see how you look. Then you'll probably want to go a bit lower, maybe 120. Where are you at now?

no i'm pretty sure it's the other way around..there's definitely more than 3 cups of popped popcorn in a full bag. idk, maybe pop the bag and measure it out with actual cups?

next time buy pre-popped popcorn and weigh your portions on a food scale

At that height I would just aim to be around modelling measurements.

I'm 5'9.5 and my ideal weight is 110lbs (31.5-23-34.5) but I can't maintain it without health complications :( So 115lbs (32-24-35.5) is my goal.
