Drug Allusions

Having my share of experiences with psychedelics, I was thinking of copping some shirts with some subtle allusions to LSD/shrooms.

>How noticable would it be?
>Self-incrimination?
>Who would take note?

DUDE WEED LMAO

>Where is the line of it becoming too obnoxious/off-putting to others?

The point where you advertise your drug use on a t-shirt is where it becomes obnoxious desu

kek

op you might as well wear this

I agree with you.
But I am look at subtle allusions here, ones which are not blatantly obvious.

fpbp

I made this design, feel good. #closetanon

drugs are bad, don't do drugs

your idea seems stupid and people would look at you in a worse light

this one's ok

you don't need to brag about it with what you wear. it is like you are trying to say "i am cool because i have taken psychedelics". lots of people have taken psychedelics. you're not special or cool because of your experiences with them.

recreational drugs should not be that important to your identity

this

drug references are generally quite try-hard

wtc?

DUDE

you aren't special, everyone does drugs

ive done a lot of psychedelics myself and i think youre a huge faggot

whats wrong with you?

why do you feel the need to let people, totally random people on the street, that you do lsd?

it would be noticeable to anyone who has ever done a drug

it will attract the dumbest, most worthless people (you), who have learned absolutely nothing from doing psychedelics or just smoked weed until their brain no longer functions.

What the fuck is this? You think you can just barge into any board and make a thread about something that doesn't have anything to do with fashion?

fuck you
take your druggie discussion elsewhere

I am a neuroscience/psychpharma student who feels very strongly about lifting restrictions into possible clinical applications of psychedelics.

And thus willing new wear something which indicates my support of the cause (without having to resort campaign shirts)

*research restrictions

>Having my share of experiences with psychedelics, I was thinking of copping some shirts with some subtle allusions to LSD/shrooms.
Enjoy turning every simple traffic stop into a full search of your car including drug dog

>Not living in the US.
>Won't get shot

That's a dumb idea and if that's really your profession you should be aware of it.
You look like some dumb rc abusing teenager, it adds nothing to the cause as people see you as biased.

Being a scientist 101:
>Keep your biases away from research
>Express them in essay section of journal

you sound like a faggot, and this is from someone who loves psychadelics

You want to express an opinion publicly. Nobody cares if your work is good, if you look like a retarded drug abuser nobody will take your opinion on Ketamin seriously.

i got this from uniqlo hoping it would allude to tabs

I think thew most subtle way is to wear tie dye, fractals/psychedelic patterns and colors, and
>a lot of psychedelics
>not compassionate
>calls others worthless
hang on to your egooooo

>New Scientist
UK based science magazine
>UK
country with among the strictest drugs laws in the western world

ok.

in that case, is unironically good

I am very torn of even considering this one, as i currently do not support public/recreational legalisation of hallucinogens. Research only.
>i support psychs but i am not blind to potential downsides (however rare they may seem).

mate the only thing this alludes to is mr men

closetanon.com | Albert Hofmann Bicycle Day

Had to kek at shirt.

I consider myself professional enough to not walk around town wearing this.

Do i support 'legalisation'?
>No
Do i support this topic debated in a more informed, scientific and open/public manner?
>Yes

Am i willing to engage in verbal discussions on the current scientific knowledge, should my tshirt envoke a discussion and the other is interested?
>yes.

good post

nice ass

Why don't you start a petition or something then

why would you hint at your support of the application of psychedelics for clinical use instead of openly supporting it

start some sort of campaign and wear a tshirt for it instead of just being a retard with a dumb shirt

That's such a weird thing to be doing with your shirt. Also, a joke Purell shirt is more professional than a classic tie dye?

ya i wore it once

These are not things which can be changed via some petition. The public is extremely misinformed (look at the start of this thread) and would never support any such effort of reducing psychedelic drug classifications.
Also i am primarily a researcher not a campaigner. I believe in the impact of good research and long term effects that it can have on public opinion.

Things are changing...gradually.

Thus i am thinking of getting a shirt which supports the cause (may start a conversation). If people are ok with wearing band shirts they havenever heard, i feel ok with wearing tshirts pertaining to a topic i support.

Do you see this from a neuroscience perspective or does your use of psychedelics inform your opinion on their legalization? There's a big difference between the two. There needs to be more double blind studies and less "i want it to be legal cause i did it (illegally) and it helped me"

>he reads new scientist

Whether you want to believe it or not: research informs personal interest and personal interest informs research directions.
My pharmacological interest begun before i had ever taken any psychedelics. Having thus tried them myself, has further enforced my conviction that further research is needed and possible beneficial effects might be clinically applicable.

Such studies would have to go far beyong some 'standard and easy double blind' stuff and truely go into multi-phasal longitudinal designs. What restricts current research (even with Marijuana) apart from funding, is an artificial political deadlock imposed on psychedelics.

Again, i know of possible social backlash against such tshirts, which is why i want it to be subtle and only a shout-out to people who are interested in such a topic.
If people can wear a nerd-cred. MINT tshirt, i too should be able to do it.

And i guess you sit at home reading Science, Nature and other scientific Journals all day long.

Which is why understated is the way to go.

as a science student, yes

honestly even at undergraduate level nature is totally manageable (i'll admit science and cell may be a bit tuff in first years of undergrad)

new scientist is not worth paying for, especially when they often do a terrible job at paraphrasing primary research

if you're intending to continue postgrad studies then get off the NS train now. you'd be better off subscribing to one of the big three journals and picking up the economist and a non-tabloid paper to see what the public is paying attention to

if you're still on it then hope is lost

just a note:
if you've never actually had a physical copy of nature in your hands i can understand why you might not recognise it as a better source - they're not cover to cover with full on research articles (no one wants to read that, especially when per print edition there may only be 1-2 papers that interest you)

I agree OP. the mind sanitizer. defragment your hard-drive with hoffman's miracle cure for the soul

I am only beginning to discover the possibilities it holds...

don't you feel it's bit passive aggressive to scream about something like that with your clothing?

Fucking exactly. I'm all about those mental tool kits. evolution in action

the brands perks & mini, and prmtvo do some psychedelic referencing stuff that isnt enitrely cringey

>I am a neuroscience/psychpharma student who feels very strongly about lifting restrictions into possible clinical applications of psychedelics.
If that's the case, the best way to about is to look as normal and respectable as possible and just be professional and forward about your cause
People get turned off by expressing stuff like that through clothing, imagine someone trying to argue in favor of legalizing weed, if he looks like your typical pothead hippie or someone sharp in business casual, who do you think people will take seriously?

Did i ever say i am paying for New Scientist? No.
They have them as a casual read at uni.

Does NS ever pretend to be a serious scientific peer reviewed journal? No.
They are interesting break reads and sometimes mention interesting research.
Do you take it as the be all and end all?
No.
Do you look at the papers mentioned?
Yes.

Will i restrict myself to only reading science, nature and in my case Journal of Psychopharmacology and JAMA Psychiatry? No.

Shouting? People do not seem to get the subtle part.

Of course i have had them on my table.
And they are some nice reads in there. But this does not mean that one cannot also look at other sources.

Also the style of writing can be quite jaring in some journals. Some high level academics are just not good writers.

>Shouting? People do not seem to get the subtle part.
See, even if it's subtle it still just feels passive aggressive as hell, instead of discussing with people about something you care about and actively engaging with them, you are dropping cues with your appearance expecting the other people to pick up on them.
Don't talk with your clothing, do it with words instead.

Just get a tee with Hofmann's happy face and people who care will know lol

Now this would be more on the nose than this
