In terms of image alone, I think American avant-garde jazz that came out on Blue Note Records in the forties, fifties and early sixties was effay as fuck. Whether you dig the actual music or not is another question, but in my opinion the musicians associated with that label were some of the most unbelievably charismatic and cool people that have ever been photographed anywhere at any time.

Christ

Listen to the music that you actually like. Most people don't listen to their favorite music because if it's too "off" compared to the mainstream music. Don't think of things like "would this be weird to play for other people at a gathering?" Just listen to what makes you feel good

this works in reverse too

if you usually listen to shit that would be weird to play at a party or gathering, it's totally fine to like some loud, obnoxious, popular song bc it's just noisy & makes you feel like the shit

fuck off retard
