LAST THREAD /fa/thread/12951989#p12951989
Whats the most versatile fragrances from Jo Malone? I'm fixin' to cop a bottle
How is Egra compared to GIT in terms of longevity and projection? Is it a good clone?
Any other suggestions from the Rasasi house while I'm already paying for the shipping of one bottle?
can the guy who makes new threads stop using anime shit
what is GIT
Green Irish Tweed
Al wisam day
Are smoky frags good for smoky weather? Like if there’s literally brush fires throughout the whole region should I go with a smoky frag?
I'm pretty sure they're a garbage house; there are just some pretty photos of their products online.
complains about a single anime picture at the end of each thread
Where do you think you are, friend?
On the topic of Rasasi, has anyone tried pic related yet, or do I have to be the first to blind buy the set?
Is Fahrenheit a good choice if I'm wearing a black fur jacket and harness boots like Squall?
pls no bully.
to be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Dior Fahrenheit. The scent is extremely avant-garde, and without a solid grasp of theoretical perfumery, most of the notes will go over a typical wearer's head.
Curious, why are you set on this one house?
Haha, LA here. I wore Aventus today and I never wear that out, so I did.
lime, basil and mandarin
oud & bergamot
don't listen to their layering bs
Apoketer Tepe - Holy Mountain
Naomi Goodsir - Bois D'Ascese
Le Labo - Patchouli 24
What are your guys' favorite vetivers? So far I've only tried creed original vetiver. How does it compare to others?
Woman fucking love this on man. Hard to find a original to buy...
i like encre noir a lot but its winter exclusive, and like night time winter in certain clothes only
Tom Ford - Grey Vetiver is really nice. It's clean/versatile.
OV is a very fresh interpretation with added ginger and citrus. It has grown on me over time.
Route du Vétiver (full disclosure: I have only tried the 100ml vintage in the red bottle - smoky, intense, or vetiver lovers only)
Guerlain Vetiver (same but with ribbed bottle - straddles green and smoky deftly, tobacco is very prominent with this batch)
Sycomore - slightly smoky, comforting and smooth as butter
Encre Noire Sport - retains all the rooty, earthy goodness of the original and makes it infinitely more wearable with a ray of citrus sunshine
Vetiver Ambrato - High class af and a touch of sweetness. Not powdery enough to bug me.
*for vetiver lovers only
Have you tried Guerlain Vetiver Extreme? They say it is a modern take on the original and I'm thinking about blind buying.
How much and where do you spray EdP? I'm afraid I will smell too much, I want it to be subtle but still noticable if you're close. So hard to tell since you can't really tell how much you smell. If it makes any difference I got a Tom Ford private blend EdP.
Really? You think it might be?
Chad Miasma or bust 5 sprays at least.
I have a sample and have only tried it once, and not a serious wearing at that. I remember thinking it was very close to my ribbed bottle, but that's it. I'll try to give it a better sniffing soon.
Curious to try pic related
Totally depends on which fragrance.
I really like it since longevity is pretty good and that cinnamon note is excellent, but idk if I really need it and Burberry London even though London has eh performance.
That being said seemed a bit too sweet at times
Opinions on this? I don't use cologne and have heard this is a good one.
congrats you found us, stick around if you dont want shit frags
It’s alright. I generally prefer it’s flankers, either A*Men Pure Havane or Pure Malt, myself. I think they’re much more interesting fragrances. The original A*Men isn’t bad, though, a lot of people like it, it just isn’t really for me.
Definitely try Pure Malt and Pure Havane as well, see what you think.
stupid fucking bottle but i love the smell of this
Versace The Dreamer or Mont Blanc Individuel for everyday use in winter?
how is the tarragon in it? is it noticeable?
i actually dont know what tarragon smells like but all i know it smells good and people compliment me that it smells good.
AND ZE WAIT BEGINS OwO
@Garbage Can Lid
The malt one sounds interesting.
Even though Armani Code is mainly a clubbing scent, could it work as a casual winter frag, if I'm careful on the sprays? Maybe just one each shoulder or something like that?
It’s nice stuff. Smells kind of like a whiskey cocktail with a bit of fruit in it., but not over the top girly fruit, more of a dried fruit. Dries down into more of a woody-malty subtly sweet scent.
I will never EVER buy one of these just because of that bottle. Aren't they /arab/ tier anyway?
Vetiver extraordinaire- a sharp and "angular" vetiver. Cleanly powerful instead of being earthy/salty
I hope in vain I'll never go down the rabbit hole like you have. Please update us on what you think.
Also, I do understand that they are very strong attars, but I still can't justify that price for 1ml.
Will do :P
Mugler is not Arab-tier. Also, there is a refillable metal version of the A*Men bottle that’s much nicer. You could just buy Pure Malt, cut it out of the plastic shit, and put it in the metal case.
what is /arab/ tier?
Turns out Bois de Mystere is a Straight To Heaven clone. I am little disappointed because after the last few releases it looked like they were trying to clone vintage batches of beloved fragrances that you cannot get anymore.
lads....original forumulation ch men is literally the goat
The type of fragrances Arabs usually wear. Usually very loud scents, often a lot of rose and oud combinations. Also stuff like 1 Million that greasy Arabs/Indians/Persians wear to cover their BO.
Should I get a sample of it?
tobacco vanille :^)
Also not Arab tier. I don’t think you know that means.
lol all the brown people around here wear tobacco vanille and tuscan leather and amber absolute, sorry TF fanboy
Wrong. They wear clones of TV and TL because brown people are cheap.
Back with a quick update, a few hours in. I'm sorry to say it but this rabbit hole is worth it. The reviews already out speak more precisely than I could. They are delicious, not gourmand delicious, but after inhaling deeply for a few seconds you kinda get this trail entering your sinuses and it almost has a mouthfeel to it, hard to explain but for me that's a good sign of a damn fine scent. For a moment it feels like it could just take over.
Come join me down the rabbit hole.
Also will come back after wearing both for a few days, compare it to iris and Violet in other scents I have, so far the difference in depth and nuances are almost staggering.
God my nose was fucking burning sitting nexts to some sand people today
My dad has the cologne in your pic OP. Fits him but doesnt fit me
why would they clone such a shit frag
Dammit. I really really want to like this. Guerlain makes some awesome fragrances and age be damned, but this is one of the first of their offerings that is indeed just old smelling to me. Dusty opening, that patchouki mid, and then a good powdery dry down but it takes all day to get to that sweet spot. Not for me, but gonna try sport and EDT as well.
Try HR L'eau
what are some non arab tier fragrances?
This is like a tropical flanker of aventus
CDG 2? Yay or nay?
I love me some mature scents, but agreed on all counts, except for the powder. Way too powdery for me. It's been a while since I've tried it, though.
name a better winter frag than 2 man, I'll wait.
Opinions on this fragrance?
I love this scent.
how long can i reasonably expect a bottle of perfume to last? does it age?
It really depends. Anywhere from 8-12 sprays per ml is a good rule of thumb. Personally I never have needed to spray more than 5 for one wearing, and that's really on the high end. So just kinda do that math.
That being said if you have a rotation of frags then it'll last you a good long time. I bought 70 ml of d&g pour homme probably 3-4 years ago and wore it on warmer days in rotation with burberry Brit summer and I still have a fair amount.
Some people claim perfume gets stronger as the alcohol evaporates and thus it ages, but on the flip side it can grow stale. Generally though you won't notice any aging if kept in a cool dry place.
On the christmas list, I really like it too. I have been just sniffing my empty sample bottle for a week now. Its actually been making me second guess it, but its because im only getting the top notes. the peppery heart and clean dry down are my favorite parts. Probably going to be my first signature scent.
I also have discovered smelling both my empty tam dao and empty wonderwood sample at the same time produced an amazing scent, I really want to layer them on my skin. Really smooths out and warms up wonderwood to have that sandlewood in there.
Back to Black
Has anyone tried Burberry Brit Rhythm? I was on the fence about buying a cheap used bottle my friend has. Does it smell anything like Allure Homme Sport Eau Extreme?
As said, average atomizer puts out 0.1ml/spray, and my average application is 3-4 sprays/application. I have bottles from the 80s that still smell great, and all I do is not store them in a sunny windowsill or my car for long periods of time.
I have a bottle from years ago, before I really got into fragrances. I liked it then, now I don’t so much. I get mostly leather and tonka, but it also has this weird synthetic plastic kind of smell to it. I guess it’s a safe enough scent for most people, fairly generic, but I’m not really a fan.
A powerful winter scent. Starts off with a strong herbal quality (tar, mint, and patchouli) with background sweetness that settles down after about 2 hours, after which the sweetness is much more prominent and it becomes very chocolatey. I personally love it as much as I love the flankers. Something about it being quite sweet but also very masculine.
I wanr to smell 90s in the best way
What frags do this?
Ah! what would you suggest as an alternative fragrance as I currently wear Burberry Brit rhythm daily
Platinum Égoïste or Pasha de Cartier
I can't recommend cK One as the current formulation doesn't resemble the original at all and is thus not 90s.
Well, if you like it, keep wearing it. I don’t love it, though I don’t think it’s terrible, but that doesn’t mean you have to stop liking it.
As for what else to wear, really depends on what you like. I’d go down to a Sephora, pick out some frags that interest you, and get samples. Learn about what notes you like and which ones you don’t, and go from there.
saw creed silver mountain water 4 oz for 170$ cop or not? Never smelled it before
I wouldn’t. SMW has a metallic note that rubs a lot of people wrong way. Also, Al-Rehab Silver is a cheap clone that smells nearly identical.
Xerjoff Mefisto is also a similar scent that’s much, much better. If you’re gonna go high-end on a scent like this one, Mefisto’s the one to go for.
With zero other criteria, there can be only one choice: Égoïste.
No, Imperial Millesime is way better.
this was one of the biggest disappointments. it has this nauseating salty smell (not pleasant salty like you're at a nice beach or something, it's like melting a watermelon jolly rancher and dumping a salt shaker into it)
Is 170 a good price though?
Huh. So this is the most wrong person in history.
It’s a pretty good price. The question is; is getting something you don’t like at a good price really a bargain?
Is Nasomatto Pardon worth 150 Maplebux?
no nasomattos are worth anything other than a sample for novelty's sake. meme niche extraits are a waste of money
Rec me a chad/dyel frag, sempaitachi
Can someone explain me the appeal of Kouros?
I wear perfumes to attract thots, but none of them liked Kouros, they think it's disgusting.
Toughts on this? I love the smell few times I tried it but I'm a cheap fuck. Can get it for like 140, isn't this usually like 170-200eu? How is the longevity/projection? Someone convince me to pull the trigger.
A comparison would be good, thanks. Have you tried Iris Nazarena, Iris Silver Mist? Are they are more ambered take on iris/violet like Khol de Bahrain, or the more traditional powder heliotrope cloud ala l'apres Ondee/ l'Heure bleue?
What's the projection like? Can you get impressions by someone else? Thanks!
Habit Rogue, "a perfume for women designed for men"
I like it though. It's a cloud of comfort and just the right sweetness.
Kek, not even him but Creed fanboys think other people can't have opinions, especially if they don't like Creed fragrances.
Cancer of the perfume industry, alongside IFRA. Would purge in that order
Creed wouldn't be so fucking toxic if they could just produce consistent batches of their shit. No reason Aventus should be that over the place.
A step above extremist Creed Fanbois you have IFRA apologists (or people that want their corporate senpai to notice them). Exceptional individuals if you get my meaning.
Anyone knows a fragrance that girls around 18-40 love on guys but isn't ridden by feminine notes? Dark but not too dark and also attractive to women would be the perfect way to describe it ideally. Any connoisseurs got suggestions?
If you don’t buy it, I will murder your grandma and rape your cat.
I'm 21 btw but I'd love to leave a good impression on a milf if the opportunity presents itself yaknow, hence the retarded range
Any recs for frags wth amber and cedar (or pine) basenotes? These notes go really well together for me and smell great
Dude, shut the fuck up, Gary.
Wtf is this Gary meme, stop ruining /frag/ for the rest of us non retarded Creed fanboys.
Just take a look at the conversation and you tell me that the Creed apologist was making a legitimate argument or not. I have a suspicion that Creed fans get so defensive about the house because they're in denial about spending so much on a subpar house with a blatantly false prestigious history, average goods with a load of synthetics for a ridiculous pricetag, and unforgivably inconsistent "batches", that, surprise, not even the most niche houses come up with.
Creed is literally babby's first fragrance he's spent a ton of daddy's cash on, and he's in denial about how mediocre the house is.
It's a bit "light" smelling on the projection imo. Wont stand out in a bar/club environment that well.
It's alright, a pretty safe smell, nothing outrageous in there but not worth the price tag.
but isn't ridden by feminine notes
That would actually probably help you with that age range. Rose notes (yes, rose) go down pretty well with most females. Tom Ford - Cafe Rose. Jo Malone - velvet Rose oud are great imo. Dark with rose.
There are similar smelling with a lower price though available.
why is atelier cologne so underrated
not all their frags are masterpieces but so far I cannot say that any of their frags are shit
Funny, neither of the posts you quote mention that frag.
I've heard most of their stuff is underwhelming. They're not really underrated, they were bought out by L'Oreal and are now stocked at the majority of Sephoras. They seemed interesting and more niche oriented before all this to me but then I quickly got turned away.
If they weren't making absolutes I'd call them out for being overpriced.
Or maybe someone was just making a joke and you sperg we out and started dumping walls of text about why Creed is literally Hitler.
Chill, bro. It’s smelly water we splash on ourselves to make girls think we smell good. No need to be so serious.
You are awfully mad. Did Erwin Creed fuck your mom or something? Settle down. People can spend their money on whatever they want. I’m yet to meet one of these “Creed fanboys” you nerds are always sperging out about. I think maybe you’re imagining things.
Also, dude, shut the fuck up, Gary.
I'm debating between Polo Blue, Allure Homme Sport, Versace Pour Homme or Boss Bottled for a year round scent for work. Would any of these be too cloying for front of house work? Can Boss Bottled work in summer if I just do say one spray on the chest?
Thank you, helped a lot.
Shut the fuck up, Gary.
not op, but if it's ''just smelly water'', why don't u neck urself already? Seriously though? For u are just another evolved monkey on a spinning rock if we're busy simplifying anyway.
You forgot the “dude”. It’s a crucial part of the meme.
Dude, shut the fuck up, Gary.
fruity aventus > balanced aventus > smoky aventus
not debatable sorry bros
I've noticed burning on my armpits after spraying anti perspirant the past couple days, should I switch to a regular deodourant or will this pass? Only had burning one other time on a different brand of spray
not sweating so your natural pheromones attract hoes
never gonna make it
my sweat + vintage ch men = dripping fresh pussy everywhere
do a heavy legworkout, scratch your balls, sniff, thats what SMW smells like
Update, tried malt, tobacco, and the normal spray. I feel like you can only pull this off if you're a 40-50 year old man. I'm only 20 and this shit didn't match me at all, they are nice smells though. I don't know very much about cologne but the one in my pic smells pretty good, it's generic smelling but I liked it. Opinions on prada carbon?
Dude, shut the fuck up, Gary.
Is Versace pour homme really as weak projection and longevity wise as some people on Fragrantica make it out to be?
AP is pretty carcinogenic just fyi
How's the new Y from YSL, any good?
What’re the best Mancera/Montale frags? I’m intrigued by Black Candy, Chocolate Greedy, and Blue Notes. Still missing a Mancera/Montale in my collection.
smells like sauvage
It is a good smell, but not worth retail price. Other fragrances do the same thing though.
I tried it on the mall and I can barely smell it on my wrist even if it was only 5 minutes
They still make this? Have you tried a stick/gel?
Don’t get Caleb started.
VE SHALL NOW SUMMON CALEBSPERG!
BEGIN ZE RITUAL!
Dude, shut the fuck up, Gary.
Peppery hesperidic frag from what I can remember. Contains a bit of that white musk and ambroxan combo that's so popular right now. Decent, but forgettable and dulls me to tears.
i got some armani code samples coming, i'm only out ten bucks if i don't really like it. smelled ok in the macy's ad.
i still wear versace eros edt daily, no complaints and many compliments.
Dude, shut the fuck up, Gary.
I'm very nostalgic about the 2000s and 1990s. What fragrances embodies those times?
Wtf is that supposed to mean? It is the Sauvage wannabe of YSL, or at least it feels like it to me.
Jesus Christ, I'm aborting myself from this cancerous thread
Running out of my Aventus, was thinking about Mancera Cedrat Boise, is it really similar to Aventus as people say or not? Haven't had a chance to smell it yet.
Don't approach Cedrat Boise expecting an Aventus clone. If that's what you want, go directly to Pineapple Vintage Intense. The Mancera is sort of like the sweeter half of Aventus, focused more on vanilla and blackcurrant without any of the pineapple or birch. In place of the birch you get a suede, and a lemony citrus sits on top. CB is reminiscent of very specific moments in late stages of Aventus' development only.
I enjoy CB and wear it year round, but if you have other fresh summer scents to wear then it's probably best enjoyed in fall and winter, and for evenings. Like almost all Mancera / Montale perfumes, it lasts forever and gets noticed.
I like Gold Intensive Aoud, Cedrat Boise, and Black Aoud. Read up on those I guess.
Perry Ellis America
black aoud and black line
Might sample Cedrat Boise, looks interesting, though my favorite part of Aventus is the pineapple, and I do already own PV Intense. The others, not so sure about. Not really into heavy oud notes or those middle eastern rose+oud sorts of scents.
Can anyone recommend me cozy scents that would be Christmasy/wintery? Something that fits a cold day, with decent projection and longevity, something you can wear with a scarf, gloves and sweater.
I've thought about Wonderwood but it doesn't last on my skin. Burberry London is another frag I've been considering. Would that fit the bill?
What scents do you recommend that attracts girls around 20, would really like a scent with creating mystique because a lot of my clothes are pretty dark / on the darker side of the spectrum. Im 21 by the way.
Is La Nuit in its current formuation even worth bothering with? I enjoyed my sample of (almost colourless) juice, but have lost it. It lasted around 7-8 hours and became a skin scent after around 2
Bulgari Black has a dark leathery accord with a tea note. May not be dark and sweet, which is what women that age prefer. Unless the cherry in Pure Havane meets that criteria...
Wear it every Christmas. And I get very decent performance out of it
Black Orchid if you really wanna be bold
At that age, most girls seem to like candy sweet clubbing scents and fresh/aquatics, so I wouldn’t get too fancy. Just get something like Sauvage or whatever.
If you’re looking something to match your aesthetic, that’s kind of something else entirely.
betawiblood on youtube is a good fragrance reviewer
Chanel Platinum Egoiste.
Could also say pretty much any of the more popular/innovative frags from that era. Thinking Le Male, AdG, L'Eau d"Issey, A*Men etc.
If you enjoy the scent, why not? I enjoy it even though other people don’talways notice it. Or you can get an older batch if you really love it
Acqua Di Giò Profumo
I wish I bought that over Versace Dylan Blue.
Just got my samples of Laboratory perfumes Gorse and Bright Neroli. This shit smells so good. Do you guys have any other recs for these kind of light, clean/fresh, casual frags? I thought ultra zest smelled like orange air freshener and Male eau fraiche smelled like bubblegum though - not really a fan.
Dior Homme Cologne. It's like nose candy.
I love amber drydowns and if the opening didn't give me a headache, I'd make BdC EDP my daily driver, however since it does should I consider getting Sauvage? Even if it is popular right now/
my exboyfriend gave these reccs when i asked him about what perfume i should get
is he right?
He is quite right- they're good frags and he knows his stuff. As an alternative to the citrus perfumes, Chanel Eau de Cologne from the Exclusifs is the best cologne in the world with a ultra smooth, velvety feel and an ultra expensive muscanone drydown. Better than Eau de Guerlain if you can find it on eBay discounted (which I found twice).
Encre Noire is a fantastic vetiver for its price.
I have no idea what else to recommend since we have no idea what you're looking for but his recommendations seem rather good.
Aren't those all mens fragrances
It’s almost like he’s recommending fragrances to another man...
I shouldn't be surprised everybody on this board is a fucking homo
You still talk with your ex?
are guerlain l'homme ideal cologne and l'homme ideal sport memes or good
I bought dylan when I just got into the fragrance hobby and now I just want to get rid of it.
I liked them but a bit too sweet to buy
wtf versace eros is actually god tier
it's not a meme teen clubbing scent, it's actually 9/10+
Did you just assume their gender?
This is why you don’t listen to the spergs here who automatically hate on anything designer and/or popular. Sauvage? Pleb shit. Aventus? Overrated, babby’s first niche. Eros? Total shit. Gay teenage clubbing scent.
Just the same autistic contrarian hipsterdom you find all over Veeky Forums.
Yeah, Eros is good shit.
talking to your ex
Allure Homme Edition Blanche
Salvatore Ferragamo pour Homme
Set Sail St. Barts for Men
I'm 24 and with alopecia so I shave and go full bald. Which fragance should I wear for day and when going out? I'm in summer season btw.
you fellers fuck with le labo?
This is what I wear.
Is there any fragrance out there that has latex/PVC notes?
And also Oud Saphir is fucking good holy shit
Etat libre d'orange's Tom of Finland genuinely has that stretched latex/hot black rubber accord.
Love this, need to get a bottle eventually
Good thing to spray the inside of my car with?
That cheap Aventus clone you wasted your money on
not that user, but I've been looking into jo malone because people know it and i want to flex with some crypto gainz
Jo malone does only interesting, safe, sweet fragrances that are really only eau de tendre or whatever you call something that lasts barely 10 minutes on skin. They're all, without exception, ridiculously sheer concoctions with such complexity as would even make Jean Claude-Ellena fall asleep.
For some reason, Chinese girls go crazy over the brand. Maybe because they're so wholly inoffensive and dull. Perfume for people who don't like perfume but want to enjoy the process of applying it in their boudoir. Stay away.
Damn it, *uninteresting, I mean. Damn uninspired brand.
Want to flex? Go for a reputable niche house like Profumum Roma or Parfum d'Empire. Some exclusive lines are great for quality, ie. Chanel and Dior. Or go vintage and hunt down vintage Opium or l'Heure bleue.
Bois d'Argent, I heard Parisian taxi drivers are the number one consumers of the frag.* No idea how they afford it.
*As mentioned during an interview with the perfumer, Annick Menardo in issue 4 of Nez.
tfw on a massive blind buying binge after abstaining for most of the year
The gray market seasonal deals are irresistible. I've copped at least fifteen bottles this month and I can't stop. Everyone I know is getting perfume for Christmas.
would even make Jean Claude-Ellena fall asleep
Damn that is a powerful statement.
I guess you could use Demachy in that statement too.
Demachy >>>>>> Ellena
50ml of Burberry London is £20, is it a safe blind buy with Christmas money?
where you buying from?
Fragrancenet and Notino
I guess this is a good time to drop some advice for getting the best deals from these sites.
I've said this before, but to be sure you're getting the best price on fragnet, don't visit them directly. Instead search for a common scent on Google then click through. You should get a 35 or 37 percent discount instead of 25 or 30.
This Notino tip is a secret that I've kept for about two years now - if you see a good price on a perfume but aren't sure whether it might drop further (or can't afford the purchase right away), add it to your cart anyway. Notino shopping carts seem to be based on cookies, and are persistent for months at a time. If you have multiple computers or devices, you can lock in deep discounts months before actually paying for them. Essentially, if you add a sale priced item to your cart, you lock in the right to buy it at that price forever. I hope this helps you anons and that notino don't get hip to it. A fix would be pretty simple for them to roll out.
But it's nice
fragrancenet christmas savings
they always have 30% off everything, they just pretend it's a new sale
Additional thoughts on my experiences with fragnet / notino:
The best place to find deals on fragrancenet is under the "New Arrivals" section (under "Shop") or to sort all items by newest arrival. They receive surprisingly high quality and / or recent perfumes for a clearinghouse, and I discover a lot of scents that I've missed by browsing.
Always check fragrancenet's gift set prices, especially in the New Arrivals section. They are often priced very low compared to the equivalent sized EdP / EdT, I believe by mistake. Case in point - last month, Fragnet had a YSL Mon Paris EdP gift set with 100 ml perfume and 200 ml body lotion priced at $50, while the 100 ml EdP by itself was $75. I copped one gift set and thought a day later to order a few more as gifts, but they had brought the price in line with the perfume. Same situation again recently with D&G Light Blue Eau Intense - some user mentioned it here last week, I impulse bought a gift set for $45, then they raised it to $75 a day later. I regret not buying their full stock on both occasions.
With Notino, things get interesting when you manage to save a really good price as detailed in @SniperWish
and then stack it with an additional 10-20% discount code from a later sale. Example: Notino offered 25% off certain brands on Black Friday. When you stack that discount with sale items saved in your cart from recent months, you could have picked up a 4 oz Mancera for $60 or a 3 oz Tom Ford Patchouli Absolu for $155.
Did you read my post? Try it for yourself and regret not saving 7% by searching Google shopping for Versace Dylan Blue and clicking through on the fragrancenet result.
I dislike the games that online retailers play with pricing as much as anybody, which is why I'm sharing how to get over on them as best as you can.
Should I buy Rock Rose right now? only 1 left on fragrancenet
I want to some advice on my first signature scent.
So far I've been wearing mostly mainstream fruity and floral scents that every fucking girl wears.
At the moment I'm switching between Diors absolutely blooming, ck one and jimmy choo blossom; depending on my fit.
Please recommend me something that isn't qt core.
I still want something floral, but with warmer notes maybe. Still feminine but leaning more towards a unisex scent.
Hope that makes sense. My aesthetic is somewhat heroin chic. Pic related.
Do you want it and can afford it?
fuck off queer
Fuck all of you, seriously. I hate you faggots that wear that shit and walk by me. I hate being bombarded by god awful scents, it gives me a god damn headache. Why do you ASSHOLES have to be covered in that shite, just so you can stand out in a crowd. Just take a shower like a normal person so I don't have to smell your trash scents.
Dude, shut the fuck up, Gary.
I wouldn't, but you do you pal.
Dude, shut the fuck up, Gary.
Black orchid if you like it
If you see a creed at Marshalls don’t fucking buy it. I got duped. Returned that shit right away
Wow, I mean, that’s not even kinda fake. It’s blatant as fuck. How did no one catch that?
Kek. They have a whole collection of blatant knockoffs. Some of them are pretty hilarious.
What is this shit?
This is both funny and depressing.
this is the smell good general, not smell bad general
You know people can smell like nothing right?
hahahahahahahaha omg man
I want to smell nothing, not "good" smelling fragrances. Gives me a fucking headache.
wtf man this is fucking hilarious
Agua De Geo
Aqua Di G10
I kinda want to order a bunch just for hell of it. Use them as room sprays or whatever. I am kinda curious if they smell even remotely like what they’re supposed to.
This probably sounds like a stupid question to you fragrance veterans, but does cologne ever expire? I have a bottle of Aqua Di Gio i received as a gift in mid 2014.
In theory, no, if stored properly
It has pretty existed in a room temperature environment since I got it. That OK?
Holy shit, 97% off on this bottle? What a bargain!
Only one way to be sure; smell it
room temperature for 3 years it might have lost its shine a bit though
Another question. How should I apply the cologne? Simply one full spritz on my wrist, then rub on my other wrist, and the back of my neck?
depends where you want people to smell you
in front, when people talk to you
in the back, when people walk behind you
1000 billions sprays; project all around china
Depends if it was exposed to the light, especially sunlight.
I found the holy grail of shitty designer clones
32 sprays. Get the Chad miasma going.
abercrombie fragrances are underrated. they really get the attention of the 18-22 females
this smells like fucking colored pencil shavings
When you say in the back, do you mean on your neck? And if I want people to smell me in the front and back should I just do what I previously said?
their bottles are cheap and tacky bath and body works tier and so are their fragrances. their citruses smell like lysol wiples
tfw i live somewhere where i can wear freshies and get good performance year round
good luck getting hoes with your catpiss oud intense bros.....lmfao
pleb shit for pleb nose
Bottles from the 70s and 80s are owned by regulars here and they still smell great. I don't baby mine, just avoid long term storage in direct sunlight or extreme heat, so no sunny windowsills or don't keep in your car in summer for weeks/months.
@Garbage Can Lid
room temperature for 3 years it might have lost its shine a bit though
You HAVE to be joking. Imagine the outrage if this really were the case.
I do 2-5 sprays generally, depending on frag, atomizer, occasion, etc. Most frags 3-4 sprays. 1-2 on chest for nice wafts from under collar all day, 1 on back of neck, 1-2 on forearm(s). Avoid proximity to nose, i.e. face/front of neck, to prevent olfactory fatigue. Avoid wrists as they get lots of rubbing contact with pockets/desks. Under clothing mutes projection. On hair/clothing holds on to top notes longer, but just a dusting as some frags stain some fabrics.
Best to test application in more casual situations and best to ask others about projection, rather than rely on your own nose. And always err on the side of caution if unsure in more important occasions.
t. wearer of By Kilian "Straight to Cucking" with notes of rotten wood and bull cum, only for the coldest nights in winter, $300 for 50ml

Tom Ford Tuscan leater smellin' like a brick
Any good recs on good deals to grab from notino?
Got Green Irish Tweed in my cart right now
it's a waste of money don't buy GIT
But I like it.
then buy a clone. creed is a meme
GIT isn't a meme though. Most creed scents are but GIT is pretty legit.
What's a good clone though? I was more blown away by its performance.
Dude, shut the fuck up, Gary.
Not born because it was before LVMH sucked out their life essence.
Who are some modern perfumers who consistently turn out top-tier, artistic perfumes?
Josh Lobb (Slumberhouse)
Filippo Sorcinelli from UNUM
Who else should I check out?
Geza Schoen and Bertrand Duchaufour
Geza Schoen doesnt necessarily always make "artistic" perfumes but he can and he did.
Where were you when you realized Chanel and Dior are the only designer fragrances worth buying, with VERY few exceptions?
Where were you when you realized 2009-2010 formulation CH Men is the ONLY exception to this rule, and is the biggest panty-dropper fragrance of the past 10 years?
Where were you?
not being a pleb
who invited all these plebs here
You forgot Guerlain and Hermes
Any earl-grey type fragrances that you guys would recommend?
Someone bought the real thing, then returned it with that fake inside. Actually evil genius. I can't believe they accept opened and used returns, but I've done it several times in the past years ago.
*THIS ITEM IS IN NO WAY AFFILIATED, OR ASSOCIATED WITH, OR MEANT TO BE MISTAKEN FOR ANY CREED® PRODUCTS. THIS IS A COMPETING PRODUCT OF A COMPETING COMPANY THAT IS OFFERED TO ALLOW CUSTOMERS TO COMPARE FRAGRANCES AT AN AFFORDABLE PRICE.
NOT...MEANT TO BE MISTAKEN FOR
Except it looks very much like a real bottle if you're not paying attention.
I have a feeling that this is eau de samefag for the past few hours for the most part.
Serious question: what's the projection of cocoa butter (specifically Palmer's)
I've been using it as a facial moisturizer after my evening shower (I use an odor-free SPF 30 moisturizer during the day which is when I typically wear frags, as that's when 95% of my social interaction takes place).
It's been working fantastically, even better than my regular stuff, but the smell is extremely heavy and cloying and seems to last fucking forever. It smells like chocolate which I am not a fan of at all.
My question is, if I do end up going out after applying it, am I safe wearing a non-complimentary fragrance? To me, it seems like its sillage and projection is enormous, but that's because I'm rubbing the shit all over my face. Assuming I've given it an hour or so to absorb into my skin, would somebody be able to smell it on me from 2-5 feet away, or if they go in for a hug?
Timbuktu isn't a chypre
Citrus, bergamot, blackcurrant, magnolia, cedar, incense
It's all you fucking need GENTS
Anybody try this one?
Give me something that smells like lilac and gooseberries (male).
Any other suggestions besides Black orchid?
Is invictus strong enough to wear from now till summer?
That’s what I thought happened but the more I think about, the box seemed fake too, just well done. It had creed.eu listed as a site on it which is fake, and has gold coloring where the real doesn’t
I've heard the current formulation of A&F Fierce is piss poor, but the mix of lemon and fir interests me. Any alternatives with better longevity? Or do I look for a vintage bottle after trying a sample and hope its from an earlier batch?
Damn, you're right! Bolder and imo dumber move, but the clerk who accepted that return is even dumber.
I suppose this is a stupid question, but does anyone have any experience good or bad with the men's fragrances from Next? I just started working there and I get a pretty nice discount
For those who have used the atomizers for pineapple vintage...
How many sprays did you do? I seem to recall it saying 3 sprays from that one is like 1 spray from the big bottle, but after doing like 5 the smell is faint (but lovely)
Could also be that Marshalls bought a stock of what they thought were extremely cheap Creeds from an unscrupulous seller thinking they were getting a deal, and the buyer just doesn’t know shit about fragrances.
My sister was a buyer for Sears a few years back (got out in time, luckily), and she’d have to buy fragrances sometimes, and she knows nothing at all about them. She’d actually call me sometimes to ask if she was getting a good deal or not (though of course, I couldn’t see the product, so I didn’t know if they were authentic). It’s not at all unheard of for big retailers to get scammed like that.
The weird thing is that people on basenotes have posted about getting legit creeds at Marshalls. Should have looked at the box more closely I guess. Never would’ve expect Marshalls to sell knock offs though
Could very well be that they did, and that Marshalls gets genuine Creeds from time to time and just slipped up this time. Buyers fuck up sometimes, it happens.
Even though usually perfumes with notes of coffee plus booze and vanillin put me off, this smashes it out of the park for me. Extremely challenging at first but once you appreciate the smokiness of the oud running through it as well it is damn fine.
What do they have there?
What is it?
that you can barely smell unless you dump it on yourself
Cafe Ambre Noire. You can either get it in 1ml, 3ml or 12ml based on availability.
online it's the usual sort of stuff you find in UK shops
in the shop itself it's all own-brand stuff. I expect it'll be shit but there are some pretty nice looking bottles
can anyone recommend any good atomizers?
Goddammit... I just bought 2 niche bottles in the past month, and I really want Zoologist Camel.
Should I cop, lads?
Has anyone had any issues with leaking atomisers in check in luggage on a plane? The type you get in samples, only larger (10ml), not the original bottles.
For the longest time I've been using rollerballs and each time I fly they leak terribly.
Well, I can afford it, but I did just get two bottles and I already know me mumsie is buying me Back to Black for Christmas, so I dunno. Maybe I should hold off on it for a bit. I do already have Serge Lutens Arabie which seems like it should be kinda similar-ish anyways, looking at the note breakdowns.
I have an uncle that lives in Hawaii, so basically a steady 60-80 degree weather.
Can you recommend me a fragrance for him? Something that that stands out. I really don't want to default to YSL L'homme & La Nuit.
Might have to check this out. I love VPH and wanted to check this one out.
I really don't think Oud Saphir would be perfect for the climate of hawaii
Second. Would be perfect for Hawaii and probably no one else there has it.
Thoughts on this? Mate bought it for me awhile ago but the scent is a weird mix between sweet and sharp
