Sharing career mistake

>Studied accounting, graduated with good score
>Scared of the job market, accepted the first offer
>Shitty audit firm, not even Big 4, shittier pay than Big 4
>Stuck there for 2 years because of commitment clause
>Can't join Big 4 without pay cut, can't quit audit because of shitty CV

I am fucked. Now what?

so do you think you were wrong to be scared of the job market?

The market then was brutal, but I still think it's a mistake.

Looking back, I feel I should be a man and reject the offer, then keep on searching.

Lie about your resume. You have experience.

Can I even do that? Mid-tier audit is the black mark for anything non-audit. HR don't even know any firm other than the Big 4.

>just getting into the trades
>"company: we care about your safety!"
>believe it
>fix a safety error and tell my foreman about it
>get called into the Construction managers office cause the fat piece of shit foreman didnt like that i "was trying to be an upstart and cause trouble"
>get told today is my last day
>get escorted out the gate
>find the foremans and construction managers trucks in the parking lot
>slash the tire and scratch the paint job on their 80k+ trucks

if anyone here is thinking about the trades, dont ever report anything you dont HAVE TO. even if you possibly saved someones life. The upper shitheads dont want someone with a brain; they want someone that can do menial labour and nothing else

>actually going into accounting with an accounting degree

That was your first mistake
Your second is thinking 2 years fucking matters, do your 2 years and then start job hunting

>The upper shitheads dont want someone with a brain; they want someone that can do menial labour and nothing else

looks pretty standar. I learn that the hard way too.

I dont know but now I always play dumb as possible on new jobs. Because more you kmow more they will abuse you for same paycheck.
Idk why peoplw dont feel team spirit and bosses dont actually care about work enviorment

If you graduated with a non-meme degree, you should take some time to find a good job to start your career.
>Friends all found jobs before graduation.
>Job market was saturated with influx of fresh graduates, couldn't find a job
>Sent out over 50 resumes, 10+ interviews
>Only offers were meme or dirty jobs.
>Finally found a good offer on job portal by a recruitment agency.
>Agency refuses to give me more information, so I ended up googling and finding the source instead (I just wanted more info on the job)
>Sent resume, got interviewed
>Started work with higher salary than peers
>1 year later, my salary have increased 20%

>Finish uni exams at the bottom of 2015, comsci/BA degree
>land a data analyst job to hold while I'm looking for something better
>horror story of a place, fortunately I eventually get fired
>have some bad luck at a few other interviews, be nervous and make mistakes
>finally land a minimum -wage (45K AUD +10% super, 5K less than I might expect) BA job in December
>tiny software company but great guys
>lovin it, head dev tells me they average an 8-10%/p.a. pay increase

It ain't about the money when you start out

what exactly did you do to get fired?
These things always interest me.

>Finish degree
>be 27yo
I'm fucked. I just accept it now.
I'm saving enough to buy a gun and anhero.

What degree and how come you couldn't/chose not to get a job?

If you are going to anhero why don't you travel the country as a bum or something

I don't get it?

Wtf. You're still young. Try looking for a Big 4 offer after your 2 years (you should start looking aprox. During oct. - nov.)

If you don't get offer apply to a masters degree in jan. - mar. In the worst case (which is your current vompany is really a shit tier one) you'll 'just' have lost 2 years of your lifes and you'll be in the same pot as 2 years younger graduates

The degree is a trap, do what you enjoy and you shall become a great master at it, the momey will come, obviously, cus all masters are paid. I am 23 and im getting into web dev des

work in insurance brah

super cozy and they're desperate for people

commercial>>> personal tho

>What degree...
Bachelor of Farts in History and English.
Loved it when I started.
Hated it by the end.
Wanted to be a teacher.
Couldn't justify two more years for a Master's.
Wanted to do Masters in Europe (Finland or Netherlands).
>an den
Did Honours in TESOL.
Was going to go to Japan or Poland.
Then leg surgery happened.
>an den
In a stupor I tried to follow something I was passionate in.
Diploma in 3D Animation/Rigging.
Sadly the industry where I live is dead, and overseas you need experience.
>and how come you couldn't/chose not to get a job?
I do. Work minimum wage in a cinema.
If I worked more jobs I'd be taxed to a point where I would actually make more money on benefits.
If I work more hours my legs become excruciatingly painful due to aforesaid surgery.

I live in a sharehouse.
And I'm still a virgin.

It wasn't meant to be like this.

>He fell for the business cares about you and they reward loyalty meme

so if you have a certification in 3d animation and rigging why aren't you helping to make movies instead of screening them

See >... the industry where I live is dead, and overseas you need experience.

ofcourse there are no jobs for 3d animators in virginia, fucking move to LA

>fucking move to LA
Good point.
Let me just save enough to do so for six months and still have a buffer in case things don't work out.
Should take me about a year.

That, and I'm in Australia.

Got a link for the job agency? Im dying for a new job right now.

>can't quit audit because of shitty CV
You're still scared then.

>Work for hazmat company
>Pay sucks, but tons of overtime
>Over the years, get minimal pay raises
>Acquire licenses
>Don't get paid for anything
>Want to get a new job
>Due to the overtime (usually 20+ a week), make ok paycheck despite the low hourly rate
>Every job I check, pay is too low to meet my expenses ($1,200 a month in student loans)
>Still doing this shit I hate
