Illaoi is incredibly fun, imo. She is the epitome of "windows of opportunity".

Her challenge lies in fighting close enough to her tentacles for protection so she doesn't get all sorts of fucked up as well as timing, because everything is on a delay with her.

Also, I completely disagree with how most people build her.

Build Titty hydra first, then Spirit visage or Trinity force (the one coming first depending on matchup), boots, and then you can build DMP and other armor items.

Trinity Force will proc on every W so you can superquickly destroy towers (and W resets autoattack timer).
Titty hydra also resets auto attack timer.

Both of these will help you deal damage, increase your healing (from both tentacles as well as from using grasp of the undying) and push waves without burning tons of mana.

Her damage is in her ratios, and if you build damage, you have little to no survivability.

All of her skills are windup and easily avoidable, but also root her in place as she does them (both Q and E).

Her W is like an Ekko E, but only dashes if she jumps onto a target that she can auto attack.

She's actually super lacking, and that's why people build her full tank (to help her survive and sustain in fights). And she has no escape (where did you even get that from?)
