Now that I've gotten 30 sunlight medals, 30 fingers, and 30 shackles at level 20, these are my favorite victories.
They happen when I eliminate all the phantoms (usually 2, sometimes just 1) of a host and corner him. It means that not only did I humiliate his gank squad, but that I'm coming for him next, and that scares him so shitless that he'd rather rack up a strike against him towards a ban than face me.

I think upgrades matter more, pretty sure its normal weapons +/- 2 and special boss weapons x2 levels so a +3 twnkling/scale/or boss weapon is a +6 in matchmaking for weapons whereas a +6 in normal weapons is like 8 i think

My favorite use for miracles so far is for the HoT spells combined with perseverance. You just take little hits and the spells keep you nicely topped up.

They can hard counter them entirely with superior range and hyper armor on traders that are entirely in your favor.

I still find the weirdest stunlock to be that greatsword spinneroo slide. The length of the stun is ridiculous, the first time I got caught in it I thought my controller's battery had just died.

Firebombs are a top grade item in PvE as well, it's funny. Those screaming, flailing black tentacle serpent dudes that erupt out of people turn into a joke if you throw a firebomb at them. It ends up making them run around and do nothing for about 3 seconds, giving you plenty of time to get a few hits in.

Ultras have their own downsides. They do poorly against more agile players who refuse to trade with you and just stay at range. They are also parry bait.

Because people will go to level 125 and stick with a +9 or +10 weapon regardless. The only time weapon upgrades will play a large roll is when you are invading at lower levels.

What is actually the point of the Mound Makers covenant? Does a mad phantom have any reason at all to help a host? I always see purple signs next to white and gold signs like they want to co-op, but they're just going to try to kill you if you summon them right?

Because SL still plays a role in matchmaking, but you could be at SL 80 and only have a +5 weapon and have a great amount of invasions with good fun builds versus going SL80 with a +10 weapon and deal with same Estoc/dark sword faggot over and over again

Depends. There are two good types of high wall twinks. The melee twink, which is all in vigor + gundyr's ring + raw astora staright sword.
And there's pyro twink, which is 19 faith 19 intelligence, chaos fireball, gundy's ring, and the 3 pyro rings.
