I just got back into Demon's Souls after a looong fuckin time off.
Is there still much multiplayer going on right now? The reason I ask is because I really want the Old Monk's head wrap for my new sorcerer and the only way to get it is to be summoned as the boss in Latria. As I understand it, the requirements are as follows:
-If the host dies after you get summoned, but before he actually enters the boss fog, you get it 100%
-If the host makes it into the boss fog and you kill him, you have a small chance of getting it
Is this correct? What are my chances of actually finding MP sessions going on to actually get it?

Update: no longer need help with Aldrich. Found a guy to summon, he dies straight away and for whatever reason I just managed to systematically and calmly take down the scaled-up version. I guess I just needed to take an internet break or something. Thanks for the prospective help, whoever offered.

No, just have someone drop you Gold Serpent ring+2, with a rusted coin, symbol of avarice, Sage's rapier, and Serpent Ring +2 you'll have 405 item discovery at 10 luck, which really is a negligible difference in drop rate between same setup and 99 (Even though item find ill be 500+)

the only boss I have trouble with is NK because of his massive damage compared to all other bosses. I have over 1.5k hp and 25% absorption without embers and he still takes over half of it with one swing

The dude literally backed up his save just before he started dropping the items, he'll just load it back up and not only have the sword you took, but everything the other guy got as well.

The story is a bit lulzy, but what you did was a mild inconvenience at best and you overvalued what you did way too much.

Post pontiff is a decent area since you'll get aldritch invaders that blues can kill too.
