Are we entering a new era of japanese sports cars?

Seems like the Japanese Automotive industry is really starting to play with the idea of sports cars again after a pretty slow 15 years.

What does Veeky Forums think of the LC500? Will it give the GTR a run for it's money?

fugg that looks gud xD

Looks pretty fucking nice

>automatic "sports car"
just kill me senpai

>Will it give the GTR a run for it's money?

How? if anything is going to do that its the new Supra. since this is a Lexus it might be somewhat heavy with the luxuries. if it isn't going to even break 500HP then chances are it will only give other luxuries a run for the money.

>automatic

Yes Lexus, because all the rare manual versions of all your automatic cars have terrible resale value, nobody wants a manual lexus, right?

It's giving me that "low-level sports coupe that, in a few years, will have 600+ HP and a fat wing" vibe

>we have a new gtr
>a new civic type r
>a new 86
>a new nsx
>a new toyota/lexus sports car
new initial D when

>lc500
>sports car
jesus chirst that's like saying an LS460 is a sports car.

It's a grand tourer designed for comfort over sport.

> comfortably do 180 mph
What is wrong with that?

Yes, but the LC500 is the grand tourer, the FT-1/Supra thing is going to be the Vette/GT-R competitor.

Literally the poor man's LFA

its a new age but it just isnt the same.
i want a new age of cheap fun sports cars, i dont want a 30k z,100k gtr, and lord knows the new supra and new rx7 if they bring it will be over 100k
its just not the same anymore

How can anyone look at this picture and still want a Corvette?

Will it happen?

[spoiler]nope[/hidden]

It's because poorfags on Veeky Forums are the only people who buy manual luxury cars. They make no money off you guys. They only make money off the rich people buying new, and they obviously want automatic.

Same reason Audi and Mercedes pretty much are starting to drop manuals now too.

At least its a NA V8 with RWD, non of that hyrbid BS car companies are pushing

I heard Honda is making a new Honda S2000

It's called personal preference

It's a bit.... meh.

that's fucking fantastic

>summer can't tell thats a render not made by honda

No just a designer that Honda commissioned... It gives a good idea at least.

I'd drive it

They need to make more entry level sport cars. Hot hatches are gay and gt86/brz is a meme car.

This is everything wrong with modern car design. Kill it with fire.

go back to 1901

looks like it was made by some 13 year old edgemaster.

all entry level sports cars are gay. don't buy sports cars if you're poor.

When we get initial d the american adaptation.
It looks like a lexus.

We have the Mazda MX-5 you know? The best value in the world for someone who just wants to get out and drive.
