I'm thinking of starting my own brand

I'm thinking of starting my own brand. People tend to buy more easily if a product has a brand, even if unknown, and I could build up a positive reputation to sell even more.

How would I go about doing this?
Ausfag btw.

Buy a shelf company or invest in an ABN.

Sorry.
Phone and computer accessories and shit. Plan is to engrave generic shit with my brand and resell it at a premium.

JB hi-fi does it, I could do it too but charge less.

Private labeling or create something original.
Slap whatever meme "brand" you want and sell.

Look at almost any item on Amazon.
A lot of sellers are just reselling Chinese garbage with a "brand" sticker on it.
All that matters is perceived value.

That could cause conflict, I think it's better if we simply compete without a relation to avoid feelings of betrayal later on when one succeeds more than the other

depends how serious you are. you will need a lot more to invest if you decide to make your own brand because that will involve having a large range of products, all of which will have large MOQ's.

This is compared to selling generics which you can start with a MOQ of 1 sometimes.

To start you will want to contact some suppliers and ask them if they can do an OEM service for you. Also you will want buy some samples to make sure the product is good enough quality first.

Very difficult. I did it when the dollar was higher, flogged off some stock but because it's already saturated, made it difficult to make a real crack at it.

Did flog the company and its properties for a hefty amount though. Used that to buy land in Alaska.

this. private label or white label. choose a sector and look at alibaba and the search for those items on amazon to see how many of the same items are sold by different companies/brands. homeware is a popular sector. look at bamboo chopping boards & silicon baking mats for a good example of what happens. the identical product can be sold with a huge difference in price by different companies.

you have a good idea, you just need to decide on a where you will try to sell things. website or wholesale to electronics shops?
