what kind of doctor do i visit to get prescribed an average dose? I was clinically diagnosed with ADHD and ADD by several doctors as a child but I dont know if I have any tangible proof laying around. Not willing to spend thousands of dollars to prove that I have adhd again just to get this prescription however.

@Crazy_Nice
You don't need proof. You just need to find the right doctor.

ADHD inattentive type is the easiest to fake

Memorize the ADHD/ADD symptoms

Tell your doctor you have had these symptoms your entire life - very important because ADHD/ADD symptoms do not randomly appear later in life

Describe the symptoms and let your doctor diagnose you. Do NOT ask for adderall. Let the doctor diagnose you and accept the given ADHD medication then tell the doctor it isn't working until you get what you want.

@haveahappyday
Modafinil is a good alternative if you can't afford the illegal Adderall.
I wouldn't risk getting adderall illegally anyways because its a schedule II.
Modadinil is only a schedule IV and it's safer because you can't use it to get high.

Everyone reacts differently I guess.

I would definitely agree that it's nothing compared to the rush you get from Adderall but I can feel a difference on it. I take 200-400mgs daily during times that I take tolerance breaks from Adderall.
For someone who has never taken any stimulants especially I think it would have a big impact.

Also wow I just noticed modafinilcat shut down

Adderall pretty much saved my life. Got close to dropping out and going full hikki during my college years. Now I've got a good job, steady career, and 300k in savings and investments.
However, it seems like the tolerance has been ramping up lately and I really don't want to increase my dosage. Am I gonna be fucked when it completely loses it's effect?

Carnalpleasure
Carnalpleasure

@Dreamworx
They always start you out that low. If you haven't already taken more than you should to get high you can call your doctor and tell them that dose isn't working.
They will ask you to bring back what you have and write you a higher dose. If they try taking the old ones complain about the cost too and they should work with you.
I was started on 5mg then 2 weeks later bumped to 10mg then a few months later 15mg and now im on 20mg

They start you as low as possible because you need to increase it over time in order for it to keep working because of the tolerance you will develop.

If you feel like you are responsible enough not to chase the high I would definitely recommend taking this opportunity to use that first script to get high. I ended up doing that with mine and it was amazing and really improved my outlook on life. You won't be able to experience it after you build up a tolerance.
Only if you think you have the ability to stop yourself from chasing that high though. If your family has a history of abuse or anything like that I wouldn't take the risk.

A lot of Moda is imported from India here to the states. It still has to go through Customs, but nothing ever happens.

@Skullbone
The first time I took it, I got anxious and my head immediately got cloudy. About half an hour later my head cleared up and I was in a good mood, but I wouldn't call it euphoria. I didn't feel like I was more focused at all. I've taken it a few more times since then and I've been trying two pills at a time (10mg) and I don't really feel anything except a bit more awake.
That's on XR, but I also took a 5mg tab of IR and didn't feel shit.
I need to get the dosage increased. Should probably send a message ASAP before I forget, since I meant to do it on monday.

I am also pretty socially inept but it was easy to get around that.

Start lifting weights if you don't already. It only 30-60 minutes 2-3 times per week to see results.
Even if you don't diet right at least you are gaining fat and muscle. You can lose fat fast but it takes time to build muscle.
There's also the added bonus that when you do finally lose weight having that muscle mass increases your metabolic rate. This allows you to lose weight faster than a person with no muscle mass.

Learn how to dress well properly too.
Don't let meaningless things influence what you wear. and don't be one of those people who pretend that they don't care.
The clothing you wear is a powerful tool that can be used to influence people's perception of you. Don't squander it.
I used be that type of person and I would put no effort into the way I looked wearing jeans and a tshirt all the time.
The way people treated me differently after I started dressing better was mind blowing to me.

You should also act confident all the time even if you aren't. There is no reason not to at least pretend that you are the most confident person in the room. You have nothing to lose by doing so and any reason you can think of not to is just in your head.

If a woman is attracted to you it really doesn't matter what you say.
It also helps if you communicate via text to start with. You should also take the time to practice on randos. After you have a basic script down it just becomes a numbers game.

viagrandad

l-theanine might help with the anxiety. It's popular to take it with coffee for that reason.

I do. I stopped during the summer for no reason in particular but I've gotten in the habit again. I don't do anything strenuous but I have a couple of dumbbells and I make them about as heavy as I can manage and do bench presses and squats. I've been meaning to start doing sit-ups again as well.
I will lose a lot of weight once I get on a good dose of adderall. My biggest problem is that I eat almost compulsively, but even at 5mg adderall curbs my appetite.

@ZeroReborn
You are over thinking it.
All you need to do is walk in and describe the adhd inattentive type symptoms.
Say you have had this problem your entire life and talk about the detrimental effect being so bad that you are finally seeking help etc.
Just list the symptoms right and he will do his job and diagnose you correctly. If you don't get the medication you are seeking right away just tell him it isn't working until you do.
You could also look up negative side effects that what you were given has and that what you want doesn't have.
Then you describe the known negative side effects and you stand a better chance at getting what you want because it isn't known for these negative side effects.

@likme
Concerta isn't going to make you reach your full potential like Adderall will. Why are you skipping out on the levoamphetamine?

dextroamphetamine is simply the right isomer of amphetamine aka the only "effective" part of amphetamine. Adderall is 75-25 dextro-levo split, giving it 1.5x the strength of straight amphetamine and .75x the strength of pure dextroamphetamine (Dexedrine, etc.)

Booteefool
Booteefool

@ZeroReborn
say literally exactly that. It's not that difficult. You often have to pass a drug test before receiving a script though, when I was getting my prescription back after travelling (20 mg IR 2x daily) my doctor told me that they didn't have a drug test for me on record and needed one before writing any new scripts. It's only really for hard shit like meth and, of course, amphetamine; I had smoked weed two days prior and assumed it'd be fine, didn't try and postpone the test or anything. That was two weeks back, so they clearly didn't care about just weed, but some doctors are super strict. People on bluelight have claimed to have been dropped from their practices for testing positive due to patient contracts, so be sure you're up to date on that.

viagrandad
viagrandad

@SniperGod
if you get the generic Concerta, you can peel off the shell (eat it, it contains methylphenidate) and section the interior for instant release doses- some people find that more efficient: taking doses for when focus is needed instead of receiving continual low doses throughout the day (covering mealtimes and the later night, which I prefer to be on as little of a stimulant as possible, personally.)

As for not reaching a full potential on Concerta (-methylphenidate in general, I presume, so Ritalin too) as opposed to Adderall is dependent on a number of factors, such as drug interactions, anxiety, abuse control concerns... Personally I've been on theoretically equivalent doses of IR Adderall and Ritalin, and Adderall was certainly smoother and more natural feeling while Ritalin was more akin to cocaine, with significant euphoria and creative bursts of energy- for that reason I've only used Ritalin occasionally for recreational/creative purposes for these last few months and used Adderall as my daily ADHD treatment option.

@likme
In regards to anxiety, I always found Ritalin/methylphenidate to be greatly more anxiety inducing than Adderall- I was mugged during the period I was on Ritalin and had days afterward where it was difficult to leave the house in the evening out of paranoia, even for short trips to the corner store and whatnot. Do listen to your doctor, but certainly inform them if you encounter issues with what they want to give you.

Neat clothes are not needed, they just need to be clean, along with your body, and just not make you look like a clown.

I am the "i do not care about what i wear" guy. Mainly that is because most good looking clothes make your body feel (and appear) more stiff and are generally not comfortable. Plus, i don't feel comfortable myself continually trying to pose as something i am not.

You know very well that there are plenty of "tshirt and flip-flops" guys getting a lot of girls. It is much more important to wear what you feel better to wear, than what you believe will deliberatly be liked.

That's about 1000 milligrams worth of vitamin C. Even if you only 500 milligrams of it that still the equivalent of about 10 Oranges worth of Vitamins. Not exactly easy to consume on a normal day, much less when you are on a drug that naturally reduces your hungry. In my case, I employ these supplements for their chemical values, not their nutritional. No matter how you look at it, dissolving one of those in a glass of water and drinking it is much, as opposed to downing 10 oranges, is far quicker and more convenient. And we all know that convenience sells.

Vitamin C does not neutralize adderall that is already in your system.

Using nootropics to cheat at the rat race? Now there's an idea I can get behind. I probably owe my entire success to using copious amounts of drugs, in fact -- most of my greatest achievements have their origin in either excessive drug use or manic episodes (sometimes both.)

What I can say about this is that most of the drugs you'll find beneficial aren't going to scale up long-term. For instance -- if you have caffeine every day then not only is the drug going to stop working but you'll start to need it just to feel normal. So drug use requires a huge amount of discipline that most people don't both with.

A good solution to this problem is to start splitting up your drug use so that a single dose is at least a weeks apart. Take caffeine on Monday, amphetamine on Tuesday, nicotine on Wednesday, Modafinil on Thursday ... until you can fill up an entire week. Then, aim to have all those drugs 2 weeks apart again with another weeks worth of compounds and try avoid cross-tolerance between drugs.

In my experience most people don't have the time, money, or skill, to effectively use smart drugs so you're going to want to read up on how drugs work and drug safety too. A good example of what to avoid is thinking of nootropics as if you were choosing your favorite type of candy ... because these are all still potent compounds and you can't just abuse them; Find some good books on pharmacology, invest in some basic equipment to measure doses, and at the very least -- get your compounds tested -- this is still going to be quite foolish but at least you'll know what you're doing. But most people who use drugs aren't even going to do that much which means they'll either end up harming themselves or they'll end up reducing the effects of the drugs they consume so much that they reduce functioning.

Anyone have any cool success stories from smart drugs?

the rest is not very interesting or straight up illegal thus not worth the risk.

nicotine can be had from patches and should slightly improve cognitive function memory and alertness also suppresses appetite which is nice addition.

these things are not super drugs if anything they are luxury items. the coffee is a good example it's pretty much stronger than most drugs (except amphetamine and cocaine) and completely legal. the best thing about caffeine is you come off of it very fast in 72 hours or so and can start over. nicotine is a little slower.

Tolerance for nicotine builds up almost straight away so its the kind of drug you need to reserve for only the hard problems or when you're actually feeling motivated. Interestingly, nicotine isn't any more addictive than caffeine when used by itself so patches should be quite a healthy way to do it but pay attention to withdrawal symptoms:

* headaches
* insomnia
* agitation
* poor appetite
* palpitations
* anxiety
* etc

So if you find it disrupts your sleeping pattern like it has done to mine its best if you use it towards the end of the week so you have a weekend thats drug-free to recover.

FYI: Nicotine is a vastly under-rated nootropic and in my experience it has even more pronounced effects than Ergoloid -- though it lacks that beautiful Ergoloid feeling that you've just woken up to see the sun rise and now you're walking in crisp, clean, mountain air.

Google Ergoloid if you get the chance, btw. It's an old school drug used to treat stroke victims and its surprisingly potent.

Both are terrible though. You can get any drug online for a cheaper price and have them sent to your door. Checkout grey market pharmacy websites and black market deep web marketplaces if you're curious.

ALSO
I take adderall and I love it, I have learned so much due to it.
sure crashes are hard but if you work out and excersize they go away.
as for addiction, I have never felt addiction and I have gone long periods without taking it.
Adderall is great when used in moderation and has turned me into someone who I am proud of.
A negative effect is withdrawal, the symptoms for me are "brain zaps" Blurred vision, Hard time thinking, mild depression and a stuffy nose but these go away after a couple of days without taking it.
Adderall is okay if you use it responsibly.

the plus side is that once you quit, you'll learn to get shit done without being twacked out on speed.

This is quite true.

I always joked Adderall is a habit forming drug. It made me develop a lot of good habits that made me more productive and disciplined and motivated.

As far as addiction goes I think its way overstated, especially if you're taking XR. When you stop taking it you're tired for a few days, and after a week at most you're back to normal, but with newly acquired habits.

As long as you take ADHD meds as prescribed, which most college idiots seem incapable of, it is safe. It's not a long term solution though. If you actually have ADHD you need to develop coping mechanisms to deal with the forgetfulness and distraction. Believe it or not, in smarter people ADHD often goes undiagnosed because they have a better ability to develop coping mechanisms.

ADD/ADHD
I always get 3/18 or something on these internet tests. I'm unfortunately too honest to lie about it, too. Shit sucks. I'll answer these questions and you'll see why I can never get a legit diagnosis of anything. It's /blog/ (or perhaps /depression/) time.

1. I have difficulty getting organized.
I know I can do it, but I'm too lazy. I can get organized when it matters.

2. When given a task, I usually procrastinate rather than doing it right away.
Yes, and no. The vast majority of tasks are better left until the last minute, but sometimes (like for school work) it's best to do them straight away and be done with it, so that you can be lazy and do nothing for the rest of the week.

3. I work on a lot of projects, but can't seem to complete most of them.
Oh yeah. I get bored and don't give a shit. But again, if it's a "real" project (school again for example), of course I finish it. I have to, or I'm wasting my time unnecessarily.

4. I tend to make decisions and act on them impulsively — like spending money, getting sexually involved with someone, diving into new activities, and changing plans.
I want to, but no. I might want to buy a snack for example, or an item of whatever sort, but in almost all cases (even where the vast majority of people would've bought the snack/drink or whatever - even when someone else offers to pay for it), I'll refrain. I have an intense dislike of spending money unnecessarily, and it's not because I'm poor, because I'm not. I never was. I wasn't taught either, my parents aren't like that. They think eat what we have, I think save what we have.

5. I get bored easily.
Yes, but no. My natural state is to be unimpressed. So if something's boring, I won't get "bored", because I'm already kind of "eh". I'll just deal with it. Doing absolutely nothing, waiting, is fine. I'd rather just let time pass than do some useless activity to try to pass it quicker (he says, writing a lengthy post on 4chan).

whereismyname
whereismyname

@StrangeWizard
6. No matter how much I do or how hard I try, I just can't seem to reach my goals.
Too vague a question to even answer. Is my goal to take a shit? Mission accomplished. Is it to become a millionaire? Not even close.

7. I often get distracted when people are talking; I just tune out or drift off.
Sometimes, if they say something that makes me think of a much larger subject than what they're speaking of, momentarily, but generally no. I'll keep what they're saying in a sort of buffer memory, and occasionally I forget what they said before I finish my interjection (interjection = present the idea they made me think of, then address what they said while I was thinking). But this is completely normal behaviour, people don't think sequentially but rather organically (i.e. I don't wait for this activity to finish before I start the next one, I can follow along enough while still spinning up another thread of thought).

8. I get so wrapped up in some things I do that I can hardly stop to take a break or switch to doing something else.
GAMING! No, I hardly even play anymore at all. I want to, but I never get to it. If it's something that you can take a break from, yeah sure. Why not? I won't even think of what I was doing while I'm gone, unless it's as a motivator to get back quicker.

9. I tend to overdo things even when they're not good for me — like compulsive shopping, drinking too much, overworking, and overeating.
No, no no. No. Less is more when it comes to activities. I'm too lazy for this shit. "This" = anything that doesn't involve standing in a hot shower, or sleeping.

10. I get frustrated easily and I get impatient when things are going too slowly.
Internally, yes. But managing breathing and going in your mind-space (no, that's not some MKULTRA shit, I simply mean thinking your way out of where you currently are) solves this. Grimace if you have to, sigh if you have to, but don't be an asshole to anyone.

Dreamworx
Dreamworx

@whereismyname
11. My self-esteem is not as high as that of others I know.
Depends on what you mean with self-esteem. I believe I could accomplish most things if I put my mind to them. But I have a hard time exaggerating, or even telling the plain truth about myself or my qualities in anything but a purely descriptive manner. I take most things for granted, where others would try to present that particular aspect of themselves as something "special". I am not special, you are not special. Shut the fuck up.

12. I need a lot of stimulation from things like action movies and video games, new purchases, being among lively friends, driving fast or engaging in extreme sports.
I used to play all day, every day. But now I can't even bring myself to start a game a lot of the time. If I do, I'll play a while, stop for something, and just not start again. I watch a movie a day, or episode of a show. All sorts of movies, all sorts of shows (well, I screen shows closer because it's a larger time commitment). I do it before bed, and then I either shut the computer off immediately (movie), or read about the episode on avclub (show). It's like reading a book before sleeping, helps the mind relax.

Need_TLC
Need_TLC

@Dreamworx
13. I tend to say or do things without thinking, and sometimes that gets me into trouble.
Saying/doing something without thinking is a physiological impossibility, but what they mean here is carelessly/without an informed thought behind it often accompanied by a different mind-space as compared to the real place you're in. No, I don't do that. If you ever feel like you aren't aware of what you're doing - stop. It's like being drunk, it's really quite easy to appear non-drunk (I know this because after drinking a bottle, I can still trick people into thinking I haven't had anything) - all you have to do is stop, go through the steps that you SHOULD be doing (i.e. if you weren't drunk), and do them. Contrary to common opinion, I would say being drunk increases your ability to do precisely this, get in your head and reason things through before you do them. To do that without being drunk is much more difficult. Should you do activity X excessively? Stop, breathe, think about what a normal person would do, then do one better than that. If that means not doing more of what you want to do, just stop doing it.

TL;DR to question 13: No.

14. I'd rather do things my own way than follow the rules and procedures of others.
Yes, but the rules and procedures are probably there for a reason. Too general a question - it depends on the situation.

15. I often find myself tapping a pencil, swinging my leg, or doing something else to work off nervous energy.
Leg swing up and down, at age 28. Sure, yes. If I'm alone. Otherwise, no. Most of the time I'll just internalize that energy. I "play drums" on my body at home all the time if there's no music, not sure if related. High-BPM electronic music tends to manage a lot of this sort of energy. Just listen to something with a fast beat, and follow along with your mind. The more layers to it, the better, probably.

Booteefool
Booteefool

@Need_TLC
16. I can feel suddenly depressed when I'm separated from people, projects or things that I like to be involved with.
No. I'm more or less a loner by heart. Family is important, but even then I need a lot of alone time. If it was time to break off with a certain group of people/project, it was time. Shit sucks. Time to move on. The only time I was more "depressed" than waking up every morning asking myself why I wake up every morning, was when my girlfriend left me about a year ago. Cried like a baby. I'm over that. She's dead to me.

17. I see myself differently than others see me, and when someone gets angry with me for doing something that upset them I'm often very surprised.
No, I generally know how I'm percieved. But often that's a counter to how the other person is. If someone's feeling down, I'll try to cheer them up, if someone's overly energetic, I'll try to calm them down. I try to equalize the energy, so to speak. It's pretty easy to figure out people's limits, or attitudes towards things. You can just ask in various roundabout ways if you're uncertain, anyway. No problem. If I upset you, I probably did it on purpose.

18. Even though I worry a lot about dangerous things that are unlikely to happen to me, I tend to be careless and accident prone.
I worry about everything all the time, yes. Not particularly "dangerous" things that would happen to me, in fact I don't care if I died by accident sometime in the future. I just wouldn't want my family to be around to experience the loss of me, and that's why I can't let anything bad ever happen. I don't want to saddle anyone else with that guilt, so I have no choice but to be as careful as a normal person should be, and live my life like anyone would.

Sir_Gallonhead
Sir_Gallonhead

@Booteefool
19. Even though I have a lot of fears, people would describe me as a risk taker.
No, and no. I was once asked to tell an interviewer about the largest risk that I took, and I explained that I couldn't really come up with any - because I don't take risks. Her example was something stupid like an education you started, a job or a trip. To me, that's just not on the radar to qualify as "risk". I take risks, but they're always so calculated that they're not really risks to me. They're more like the kind of risk you'd take gambling, where you try to maximize your odds. Be prepared for the worst outcome, but hope for the best.

20. I make a lot of careless mistakes.
No.

21. I have blood relatives who suffer from ADD, depression, bipolar disorder, or substance abuse.
Not really. Substance abuse, one relative. Half-brother assburgers (fucking bullshit diagnosis, he 100% believes it himself though so I'm not going to comment on it), pathetic hypochondriac - bwaah muh brain health. adderal is just amphetamine and amphetamines have a focussing effect on people who suffer from ADD.
In my honest opinion i think there is no big difference between it and adderal or ritaline, it's was just the way to patent amphetamines, make it nearly impossible for normal people to make and thus get massive profit.
