Best first car

I'm a new driver looking for my first car now i'm 20 and will have high insurance and i'm not looking at anything above £1500 or below 1000. One thing I have looked at is the toyota aygo because the road tax £20 anually. But it can only do 98mph and comes only with a 1.0L engine. Opinions.

Ok

Mk6 Fiesta. Cheap insurance, reliable if looked after, a good starter car.

Get 1 years no claims under your belt, them you can start to look at what other cars you might like. Untill you have 1or2 years ncb, buy something small and cheap.

>But it can only do 98mph and comes only with a 1.0L engine.

High top speeds and big engines are the last thing you ought to be looking for if you've just passed your test mate.

Good point

Does the 98mph top speed really matter? You're not allowed to drive that fast in Britain anyway. I live in Germany and my first car only had a top speed of 94 and some of my friends had even slower cars.
The Aygo is a good little car, my girlfriend has the Peugeot 107 which is the same car and she never had any issues with it.

import a twingo.

>first car
>LHD in Britain
>trying to overtake to impress a girl
>die in a Twingo

could be worse, I guess...

who are you kidding? you'll never have a girl in your car. you're posting on Veeky Forums.

girls love Twingos nigga, best car for getting laid

>source: I had 2 Twingos

1.9 TDI Golf
Cheap to service, gets 1000+km to the tank.
Genuinely fun to drive, too.

>ayyy go

Depends if you wanna look cool. Since you cant look cool in a fucking Aygo. HP and top speeds are really overrated by beginners, it doesnt matter 99% of the time. If you dont care about looks or image the Aygo is great as a first car since its cheap to run and fairly reliable. Also very easy to park since its so tiny.

I´m too to get my first car now, 21 Eu(spain) but I have a little more budget 5k euroburgers, which 2nd hand shit econoboxes do you recommend getting so I can service it for the lowest and cheapest ie great mpg , aftermarket, reliable...
Don´t really care about looks and have driven a 2008 Mondeo for 3 years so big cars aren´t a problem neither

I dunno, get one of those 60bhp shitboxes. Theyre very reliable, piss easy to fix if something does go wrong and they get great mpg.

Don't think every user of one of the most famous websites in the world is as worthless as you. Bet you're even a virgin.

Ibiza fr tdi (130cv), León fr tdi (150cv), Golf tdi (130cv)...

Look at the Suzuki Swift Sport and Renault Clio GT
They're fairly nippy for what you pay for insurance
