Japanese lineup

What is it with japs and their ~excloosive~ nips only cars?

Why are they all boxy?

what the fuck is this

Small cars for small roads and small people

>Alto
>it's tiny

>Turbo RS
>Only offered with CVT

kei cars only make sense for such a population dense country
and this

they do like their boxy cars desu
don't know why

Guess they don't go fast enough for aerodynamics to matter much.

The most "exclusive" japanese cars are kei cars, very small city cars with size and power limitations, hence the boxiness. They make a lot of sense when you are in a very densely populated and built area, which is most of Japan really, or at least where the vast majority of the population lives.
Think Smart car but with an actual reason to be small, and not overpriced because "muh Merc manufactoring quality"
I unironically like the Nissan Cube.
Fight me.

Their engines are legally limited to a certain size so sort of.
And unless I am mistaken, they also aren't allowed on the highway.
Fun fact : the smallest Caterham model (160) is legally recognized as a kei car in Japan.
It does 0 to 60 in 6 seconds anyway.

Kei cars are amazing in every way, anyone who doesnt like the look of a kei car is just an idiot bench racer.

An entire class of cars, always looking amazing from the 80s onwards, hell even older ancient ones can look good

God I wish Kei cars were big here

theyre pretty cool

heres a guy for scale

regulation

everything gets heavier when they come to burger town

What car is that?

I'm pretty postive it's a modded Suzuki Whizzkid

new electric Subaru WRX STi that will replace the boxer engines

>ludicrous torque
>AWD
>small car

This doesn´t eve sound bad...

What was the difference between the wizzkid and the cervo?

I drove a cheapo Suzuki Alto kei car for a couple weeks, it was the most fun I've ever had in a car

Believe me, I want one.

Anything is better than the pic related third-world poo-in-loo shitbox that the rest of the globe gets instead..

Nah dude. EVs Need unique fugly snowflake designs so consevationicucks will buy them.

Japan has regulations for kei cars.
Kei cars must fit a certain length, width, engine size and power output. The entire point to Kei car regulations in the first place was to put Japan on wheels and help rebuild the country. It worked and Kei cars are the biggest market for cars in Japan. due to the strict regulations over what qualifies as a Kei car, it leads to these small boxes in an attempt to maximize the usable space for the consumer. Kei cars also enjoy extremely low taxes due to the size, weight, and engine displacement (no more than 660 cc and no more than 66 HP).
THAT is why tiny boxes with wheels are so popular in Japan. It's a practicality/law/tax thing. Kei cars are the cheapest cars to own in Japan. There is only ONE Kei car sold in Japan that doesn't use the maximum length and width as dictated by law, the Smart Fortwo.

The funniest part is to see all the different stuff you can do within the kei car format. You have vans, pick up "trucks", everything you can think of
>Dr Abe, I'm kei-car

at lease Suzuki-san even sells cars to you guys anymore. im over here with my X90s just looking depressed

oh well time to build them

/comfy/ garage yo.
