I make about 50k a year from my "real" job, and another 60 - 70 k from a few websites that I run. What should I be investing my extra funds in? I've come to the realization that I waste way too much money on frivolous things. I'd like to invest 2k per month into something and I am wondering what a good investment would be. I've also considered creating a "How to" youtube channel about making money online.

what type of websites do you run?

Start an emergency fund of 3 months salary. Max out some form of IRA, max out your 401k contributions if you have one. After that it's all on you.

Porn forums mainly.

Buy some more traditional assets too, user. The stock market is always a good thing to get into. YouTube recently changed their algorithm, so you may want to reconsider that choice. They go by minutes watched rather than views.

Try keeping in the business. Fund a pornstar or something.

I make about 7500 per month from my sites alone, and my cost of living is pretty low. I am not so concerned about emergency funds. I'd rather put it towards another investment/ income stream.

how do you that exactly? ad revenue/affiliate marketing links or fund me pages on the forum?

Doesn't hurt to have money sitting around. Not a significant amount mind you but cash is liquid. Your investments may not be and there may be penalties for liquidating them.

No one things they'll need an emergency fund until they need actually need it.

Primarily affiliate marketing. I also have memberships and ads.

I get that. But again, I am really asking what are some good ways to invest 2k or so per month? I'd still have plenty left over to save.

In the things I've mentioned earlier. Are you doing those? Not only are they effective they can lower your tax burden.

Otherwise start following stocks and do your due diligence. Keep in mind the risk here is much higher.

Follow this. This is as good advice as you will get here. I wish I could get advanced ideas for you but I'm not there myself.

How the fuck do you make money from porn forums? I thought forums make low near no profit at all. If you're doing affiliate marketing, what are you selling or have affiliates with? Ads you can gain money from but memberships, how do you make cash off that? I'm curious becuase im learning seo and affiliate marketing and my goal is to make money online. Can you help me or give me some useful tips broski?

As with anything else it's a bit of luck, and a bit of skill. Basically, I found a niche when it was early on (through 4 chan actually), and created a forum around it. It's now a very popular niche, and while I am not a content producer, I own the top 2 forums for the niche. The skill part is that I knew a fair amount about SEO and I have an IT background, so the technical side was fairly easy.

As far as the affiliate marketing, honestly I kind of fell into it. I had no idea that it would be so profitable when I started. I don't even advertise it that well. I have a single menu link that directs people to my my white label. My advise to you is find a non-main stream niche that isn't overly saturated, and build a forum around it using a professional forum software like Vbulletin or IPB.

Interesting. Yeah I know to make money online, you have to find a certain niche. What book or tips would recommend for me to learn more about seo and affiliate marketing?

Btw what's your IT background? What skills do you have? Web developing? Programming?

I got my start on Blackhat world. But honestly, stuff has changed so much. Google has gotten so much better about detecting inorganic seo techniques it's not even worth it. I'd recommend just giving it a go. Create something test it out, and keep building on it. It will take a while to start earning anything so be patient. If you're really interested in the adult side of things check out GFY.com (its an adult webmaster forum).

Masters in Management Information Systems. That being said most of what I learned was from doing it on my own. I am not a programmer or developer, but I know enough to fix most issues when they occur. Helpful skills are knowing your way around Linux, knowing how to install and configure the LAMP stack, understanding DNS, domains, and hosting, being familiar with MYSQL, and being able to set up and use FTP and SSH.

>Google has gotten so much better about detecting inorganic seo techniques it's not even worth it.

Dependent on nitch.

Thanks for the info and help man. Can't believe your making close to 50k online. That's what I want to achieve or even higher.

Personally, I don't even bother with black-hat techniques anymore. You run the very real risk of getting a "manual action" applied to your domain which makes it basically worthless as it is all but dropped from Google listings. I've had this happen once, and it took about 1 1/2 years of filing appeal requests and completely rebuilding the site for Google to remove the penalty. That being said it is now doing very well. The point is, it's a risk and if you lose you lose big. Also, once you learn the how to grow traffic organically you don't really need it.

If you happened to make a YouTube series, I would be interested. I've read through the thread and would like to know more. I have the IT background and the "want" to learn and create something profitable but honestly don't know where to start.

No problem. I'll actually be doing about 80k this year when all is said an done. I am really wanting to diversify and maybe even get out of adult altogether. It's not an easy industry to work in, most payment processors don't work with adult sites, so forget PayPal, Stripe, or any of the easy ones. Also, you run the risk of getting sued, hosting companies have low tolerance for adult sites as well. If you get serious about it, you'll want to setup an LLC for it, get a business bank account, and get DMCA safe harbor registered with the USPTO

How much interactions do you do with people or other businesses? Plus, do you make money sharing links form major porn companies like brazzers or websites like youporn or redtube, etc?

1. Very little unless I am buying something from them

2. No. None at all. I stay out of "main stream" stuff. There are already a ton of sites that offer it, and you're very likely to run into DMCA trouble which can be a big hassle. The trick really is finding something that is either new or doesn't have a lot of competition. For instance VR is still new, and I consider a good long term investment.

Can you share one of your sites/forums?

Ya I feel ya on that.

Get hosting in Sweden, you'll be Gucci.

I second this motion

Wish I had thought of that.

If I knew how to code I would make a tube site. I know there is still some gold left in that rush.

Did you code the websites yourself (design/UI, backend) or got others to do it? Everytime I think of an idea, I see a thousand and one better sites on Google.

I 100% believe you. Especially if you can make your own site and set it all up. After having that technical know-how it's just about finding the right idea/market/niche.
Nice MIS degree btw. That's a pretty hot major at my school.

forgot to say, I'd invest in ETFs. Just throw some cash in those and let it sit.

How long would you say it took you to set up? Including learning how-to and coding the site?

He mentioned he doesn't program but has experience in servers and database issues

What is a white label? Or is it an already made product and you slap your own brand?
