> buying german cars

lmao

>Panamera
>less money
wat?

I agree, but you gotta admit it takes a special kind of cuck to buy a FWD "luxury" car
The base Panamera retails for less than the A8. The Panamera Turbo is almost double the price.

...

Because the Panamera looks like a piece of shit.

What year you in m8? You saw the new one, faggot?

A polished turd is still a turd.

You are stupid.
Somebody going for an A8 doesnt want a "base" model. Also they want a luxury car, something you can be confortable sitting in all the seats.

I know this is bait... but FUCK

Your post is the only bait here. Are you seriously implying the Panamera isn't comfortable for passengers? Are you unironically saying that a car that is more expensive in base configuration will be cheaper decked out?
Also if someone buying an A8 wanted a luxury car they wouldn't buy an Audi to begin with. If you want to stay looking at German cars, there's the S klasse and the 7er. That's luxurious.
You'd be surprised by how many companies buy the base model because all they care about is the projected image though.

>A big, luxury Volkswagen vs. a big, fast Volkswagen that's a bit faster...

Ooo, decisions, decisions!...

I've been very tempted to get this A8 D2. Listed for 3900 with less than 50k miles, has the awesome recaro sports seats and the 4.2 with Quattro. Tell me why I shouldn't Veeky Forums.

Will be going to look at it some time this week.

people with a brain would buy a Phaeton

>FWD

>permanent AWD with torsen diff in the middle
No.

>FWD-based AWD

Care to point out the difference between FWD and RWD based AWD when the car in question has a longitudinal engine/tranny and a 50-50 default bias torsen diff? I honestly can't think of one.

Weight balance, dynamics, suspension design, etc

>entire engine + transmission in front of the front axel
>wanting understeer on top of understeer
Also,
>both front wheels lose grip
>torsen system shits itself because it can't deal with an entire axle losing grip

mbworld.org/forums/attachments/c-class-w204/139685d1221740131-quattro-vs-4matic-4matic-2.pdf

...

because understated.

that would be the phaeton

Everything will shit itself and it's all a complete fucking pain to fix, not to mention very expensive because proprietary cutting-edge tech lol.

Also the transmission WILL shit itself 100k miles from now, it can't even handle the torque from that 4.2l V8.

Because the panamera is uglier than you are, dumb frogposter.

>panamera
>ugly
yeah that must be why MB copied its styling in recent developments

>implying MB hasn't had terrible styling lately

>implying MB hasn't had a renaissance lately after the dark ages that were Daimler-Chrysler
MB started getting it together around 2008

>there's people ITT who unironically think MB new styling is bad
I bet you like pic related you fucking tasteless plebeian

>he doesn't like pic related

the only pleb here is you, stop projecting

let me answer your question with another question: what kind of cuck buys a Panamera when the 911 exists and is available for slightly more money?

Uhhh... Anybody who wants 4 doors ?

NEXT!

>What kind of cuck buys VAG products when literally anything else exists?
FTFY

>4 doors

MAXIMUM KEKED

Someone who wants a kinda-GT, kinda-sedan car.
Plus Veeate turbo is available.

Porsche owns VAG, not the other way round.
Also the only way to go faster than in a Panamera Turbo S is buying an Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio Verde for half the price

Talking about sedans here of course

Porsche SE =/= Porsche

touché
nice digits too

>4-door Porsche
>cuckmobile
choose both

>implying you can work as a transporter if you drive a coupe

>implying that job isn't for cucks who get fucked over by their customers because they're the weakest link

I've never seen more than one person in a Panamera at a time. What's the point? It also looks like a retarded eggplant. Why not just a Cayenne at that point?

expensive parts, if you crash it it's a write off

>true alpha males (like me) spend their time calling people cucks on a chinese cartoon enthusiasts website

>Why not just a Cayenne at that point?
it's faster

I don't think it would understeer during every day driving. Remeber, not everything is a racecar

a car isn't automatically a cuckmobile if it has four doors.

shut up, cuck.

has panamera been in any good car chases? I rest my case.
youtube.com/watch?v=2m-ofGDLNlM

>falling for product placement
>implying those car chases are realistic at all
kek
I love how Audi keeps trying to look like they're sporty cars, doing cool drifts and whatnot, when they're the exact opposite of that

the tripfag does it again

People who own these say otherwise online... I've checked out part prices and regular stuff (TB, water pump, brakes etc) is very inexpensive considering the car is a luxury sedan. I can deal with the tranny going out at 150k miles (3900 dollar luxury sedan...) but from what I can tell the 5HP24 can last a lot longer than that if it's taken care of properly. Plus the engine is very sturdy apparently...
Again, this is a 3900 dollar (actually Swiss francs but it's pretty much 1:1) car. If I crash it, it's a write off anyhow.

Thanks for the advice though. I'll just have to get it on a lift and check everything for leaks etc before I make a decision.

>Not everybody loves in the USA (iirc the only place where the Panamera is cheaper)
>Some people need 5 seats when they buy a sedan
>Some people want rear headroom
>A Panamera is a car for the driver. An A8 is a car for the guy being driven
>A Panamera is a disgusting sellout of everything Porsche stands for
>Why buy the plebbest of Porsches when you can buy the most patrician car Audi has to offer?

Rear seating in the Panamera is actually pretty cramped, especially in terms of head room. I wonder how much the wagon will change that.

Speaking as a chauffeur: FWD doesn't even matter, and the A8 can be on par with S-class and 7ervin some areas.

You're confusing pleb-tier Haldex with god-tier Quattro there M8.

>I didn't read the question

Because a Cayenne is for your wife, and they're less stable at speeds exceeding 200kph.

>no replies because plens don't even know what that is
good effort Veeky Forums as always

>plebbest of Porsche
>Panamera
OK the Panamera is no lightweight sports car, but it's imo still more of a Porsche than the Cayenne or the Macan. It's a good choice if you want to have a Porsche with all its perk (bespoke engines, top tier interior, better build quality than the rest of the VAG line-up) without having to be seen in a SUV or if you don't want to sacrifice too much on sportiness.

t. dude currently hesitating between a 911 and a Panamera for the few times a year where I would need 4 real seats and a decent boot

What site is that

>bespoke engines
Only on a select few models, and the new one will use an Audi V8.

The Cayenne was an innovation, a creator of it's niche, never relying on anything but Porsche. The Panamera is basically taking an existing platform and slapping Porsche parts on it, it is the first complete sellout of the Porsche brand. The Macan would be the second, but the Panamera truly is the most pleb Porsche you can buy.

>order Panamera
>with some options
>suddenly double the price
Such is porch life.

>Why buy the plebbest of Porsches when you can buy the most patrician car Audi has to offer?
Because it's still a Porsche and not an Audi.

This is the reason the Cayenne/Macan/Panamera sell so well- people with money who "need" the 4 doors now have a Porsche option, when they didn't before. People buying Panameras are generally cross-shopping high-spec sedans from other brands, not 911s.

But other than that I think you've pretty much nailed it. A8/S8 (especially the longer version) has roomy rear seats that the Panamera doesn't have, and a larger, separate trunk.

It'd make more sense to compare the Panamera to the A7/S7.

Maybe you are blind but you still a faggot.

>A Panamera is a disgusting sellout of everything Porsche stands for
How is the sedan that once was the fastest in the world a disgusting sellout of everything Porsche stands for? I'd understand if you said that about the Cayenne, but the Panamera? Are you out of your mind?

>no replies because it has nothing to do with the thread
FTFY
the Phaeton is like an A8 for old money. The A8 is nouveau riche tier.

caranddriver.com

>he calls the Turbo S trim "some options"

It has an appeal but I have a soft spot for four eyed designs in general
Tho I guess it matters more on an MB than it does on a Soarer

It's absolutely disgusting. The C class that followed didn't look as bad despite the 4 eyes
