Fusion, synchro, xyz, pendulum can only be summoned from the extra deck to the Extra Monster Zone. (If you summon these kind of monsters from anywhere else that isn't the extra deck, you summon them to the Main Monster Zones.)
But, there is a method to summon them without placing them on the Extra Monster Zone.
By using Link Monsters' Link Markers that point to your Main Monster Zones you can use the pointed zones to summon monsters from your Extra Deck.
