They haven't directly confirmed it to be exclusively all ages, but after Baldr Sky and Maitetsu it is the title most likely to remain all ages.

It's not legendary because it's a mindblowing VN. It's, at best, a 7/10. But, on Veeky Forums, it's a lot of people's first VN so it has fond memories.

There used to be a general on /b/ - "/ksb/", the older people here will remember this. KS was discussed heavily on /b/ and got a lot of foot traffic from /b/. So, /ksb/ introduced many, many people to VNs that way (myself included). And it's only natural that they migrated to the /ksg/ and /vn/ and such. Not to mention it being made by a group that organized on Veeky Forums, but that's more of a cause than an effect. Anyway, mods started deleting the threads so that ended.

.... So, KS gets high praise on this domain for that reason. Generally, around the rest of the internet, it isn't held in such high regard. Especially since it's made in the USA. It's not a bad VN considering it was privately made for shits and giggles and suffered enormously with staff changes and direction shifts over the years. Not "legendary" in itself. Just in nostalgia. Your first time is always the most potent.

Part of the reason it's so amazing is that a bunch of idiots who didn't even know each other decided to just DO IT, for no reason other than "because we want to". It's a completely self funded visual novel with decent sprite work, decent cg's, good soundtrack, All released for free mind you.

Had this been an official studio release without the background associated with it, it'd be a mediocre release.
