Those are my suggestions based on what I see. Remember; Cash is king. On the ones asking $2k, offer $1500 cash. Usually will get them to budge.

What should I look at if i decide to go look at one? I will probably take my dad along he sort of knows about cars but is there anything specific to beware of?
There IS something I would suggest no matter what car you buy. Read the fucking owners manual. It will tell you how to use some features, but it will tell you what maintenance needs to be done at what mileage. It can also save your ass in a jam.
For example. Went to the movies back in December with 2 friends in one of my friend's 2004 Chrysler Concorde (comfy as FUCK btw). We got back and it wouldn't start, only crank. She got out the owners manual and read. Owners manual said to crank the car with the gas pedal floored for 30 seconds, twice, then to start it normally. It worked, car fired right up afterwards and we got back on the road with no other issues. But the owners manual will be filled with solutions to quirks like that.
Wanna know what oil you should use in your engine? owners manual.
Wanna know how often you should change the oil in your engine? owners manual
Wanna know when to replace the timing belt if the engine has one? owners manual.
There's a LOT of useful fucking info there and 99% of people ignore it. Not every car is the same.
