It's been my experience that a lot of them drive Minis, Smart cars, and compact Audis (A3s and TTs, mostly).

I would unironically drive one of these if I lived in the middle of a large city. Gotta be manual though I drove a rental one and the auto transmission was by far the worst thing I've ever experienced.

The problem with the Smart and cars like it is that they don't really give you any advantages that a normal subcompact doesn't. A Fiesta, Fit, Yaris, etc. has pretty much all of the same advantages but is a proper car that has room for stuff and isn't miserable on long drives.

The only exception is if you live in one of those old European cities that weren't made for cars and have really narrow streets, but they're pointless in any modern city, and I laugh at anybody I see in a Smart or IQ here in LA.
