Finished the Justice 2 scene. Translation is mostly alright outside of some weird wording and what I've pointed out, but Goro's consistently too formal in it. It's jarring.

Medjed's declaration of war is mostly fine (if not entirely literal, there's some truncations due to character limits), though I feel like the JP version sounded hammier/more pretentious overall (which is amusing in hindsight once you hit a certain point.). Dropping the "X-Day" is odd, since that's used for the deadline too, and the localization missed that the declaration doesn't talk about the PT repenting, but changing their hearts, even using 改心 (the word used to describe how the PT reforms their targets). The overall meaning is intact, but that detail's lost in localization.

Their motto's also missing the "by means of a form without form" part in the last sentence, but that's minor in comparison.

It is, yeah. The repetition (partial, anyway; Joker's versions tend to be adjusted for his speech mannerisms) mostly acts as another nod to them being similar. IIRC, there's a couple other choices where Joker sounds similar to Goro, and they get a joint callback if you pick the right choices in the first casino trip and the first boss fight.

If a party member leaves your party, any gear they had is placed back in your inventory. No need to worry about that.

Character limits, not lack of space. The text boxes adjust to line length to some extent, but there's still only so much text you can fit into them, and a few of them (the three-line ones) are cutting it dangerously close.

Outside of what I noted, the differences in this part are mostly minor, though. The only thing that's an issue in the declaration is them failing to keep the usage of 改心, and depending on how you look at it, arguably it not sounding quite as hammy (but that's mostly just because it makes a later detail more amusing, not something that'd hurt the story).

Wouldn't be surprised. A lot of those similar options/comments don't stand out much unless you're keeping an eye out for them, and it looks like they rushed at least part of the localization, so it'd be more surprising if they managed to keep all (or even just most) of those.
