I'm a HoMoCo but damn the Lincoln and even Ford shilling here is bad. I've only ever owned mustangs for cars my whole life but it's so obvious in a lot of these threads.

My MKX is significantly nicer than my dad's Edge. Bigger engine, WAY more interior options, panoramic moonroof, big chrome rims etc... they stand as theyre own brand.

Porsche Macan is a rebadged Audi Q5

VW, Audi, SEAT, and Skoda share platforms and entire cars across their respective ranges, to the extent that the parts boxes bear all 4 logos... and two of those marques aren't even sold in the United States.

BMW platform-shares some of its low-end turds with the larger Mini models.

Diamler-Chrysler-era Mercedes partook in badge engineering with Chrysler marques.

Modern Fiat depends heavily on rebadging to sell cars to people who think they know better than to buy a fucking Fiat.

tl;dr everyone does it.

Though, the japs have some distinction in that they've historically created entire marques just for badge engineering, whereas most of the American and European rebadging shenanigans are ultimately a result of corporate consolidation.
