A single ounce of gold can now buy a house in Venezuela

Hyperinflation has made their cash virtually worthless, and they want cold hard Gold in order to migrate to another country. Would it be a good investment to buy 5 houses and wait for things to get better?

Hyperinflation is the least of that country's problems

>Would it be a good investment to buy 5 houses and wait for things to get better?
kek you expect those houses to remain intact somehow when it all ends and not have squatters with ak47s in them?

Could be a plan but the real fear is that the property will be squatted or even nationalised. You won't make anything on rent. Also, no idea what hurdles the Venezuelan government would put up regarding foreign ownership of land (remembering it's still a socialist system).

I doubt the current group of bandits will last long and a right-wing government will follow soon enough. Could be worth it if it's cheap, but plenty of risk.

Funnily enough, people don't like it when foreigners fuck their local property market when they can't afford a simple dwelling.

And an ounce of silver can buy enough food for a family to last three months. Right now things have hit rock bottom, but Venezuela used to be one of the riches countries in South America. They have vast oil resources. A change in government and rising oil prices can stabilize the country. People have seen the failures of communism, and they might follow in the steps of China and Russia.

Outside the US. Houses are made of concrete, and durable as hell. Sure, windows and doors will be broken, but the main structures will remain.

you can't buy a house/land
you only buy the government's permission to allow you to live there and call the police/lawyer/judicial system if there is a disagreement about the ownership

If you were to buy a house in Venezuela, what would be the SAFEST way to to do it?

Pay someone who lives there to buy one , then hope they actually give you the money when they sell it in 10 years time?

Just visit the country and buy it and hope you dont get kidnapped?

Is there a way to buy it without having to actually travel there?

>Outside the US. Houses are made of concrete
actually most is made of bricks.

like pic related shows.
those things are literally monkey rigged on top of each other.

is that less durable? can it survive squatters?

at gun point with your own private mercenaries

depends if there is fighting done with shelling and mortars and rpgs or not.

the brick houses are only ass strong as their foundation is sound. if they are well designed and built they will last for many decades without much maintenance. if they are just built by some pedros at random they can collapse from a smallish earthquake.

Gets it.

Own gold.

The only hedge against chaos.

or a little ground water

>If you were to buy a house in Venezuela, what would be the SAFEST way to to do it?

"Hello Ma'am, I'm here to buy your house"

Can someone confirm if this is true? I heard you can buy houses and that this comment is BS

Wow! apartments might be the less risky.

>brick houses are only ass strong as their foundation is sound.

I guess this is true

wtf happened to his stomach?

you don't understand what I am saying...
I meant... they could decide you don't own the land and give it to the squatters at anytime...

ex-propriation is a real risk

ah I understand more now thanks.

I actually looked into buying a house there a few weeks ago but got concerned

Out of interest is there anyway to guard against ex-propriation?

I wouldn't for one reason: state run economy.
They would likely seize the property before you get any profit.
>YOU MAKE MONEY
>IT BELONGS TO PEOPLE

be a Venezuelan in the communist party, and be friends with all the local judges, especially if a revolution happens

>you can't buy a house/land

this is what I found at
globalpropertyguide.com/Latin-America/Venezuela/Buying-Guide

>How difficult is the property purchase process in Venezuela?

>Any foreigner can buy a property in Venezuela with just a valid passport, a tourist visa and a Registro de Informacion Fiscal (RIF). The RIF is a fiscal identification for all persons, and can be obtained for free by request at any Tax Administration office or the Servicio Nacional Integrado de Aministracion or through a lawyer. Foreigners may also buy indirectly, through local companies or through foreign companies.

but yes, ex-propriation is a real risk. The risk are high, but so are the benefits.

Im pretty sure if anyone offered a bribe to a judge they would just be arrested

interested, is it safer just to buy land?

probably,

having lots of tenants is the worse for expropriation (think south African slums being taken from white landlords)

living their yourself with a shotgun is best (south African farms ready to defend their house)

>is it safer just to buy land?

same risk. In both cases you would get the tittle of ownership, but the risk of expropriation will be lower only if they adopt the Post-communist policies of China and Russia. Which isn't too far fetch. The people of Venezuela are tired of their shit. And once they go hungry (even more); they will revolt, and demand change.

but its stops the risk of squatters.

Squatters are the biggest risk, not appropriation, right?

Why do these shitheads keep enforcing their useless currency? Just let people use any currency they want.

Must have been shot in the past

You know snowflake you are starting to sound just like those assholes that say acceptance of everyone is the answer.

We all know what happens though when you don't accept that.

So Veeky Forums if you were a Venezuelan how would you protect your savings?

Bitcoins? Is there even an online exchange accepting bolivars?

globaledge.msu.edu/countries/venezuela/risk

It's practically gambling at this point.

And also you are all missing something.

Hyperflation does NOT mean the VALUE of houses decreases.

If a house was worth half the amount the year before in Venezuala, and now double, its the amount of internal currency required to purchase one, IE the house still costs the same amount in Dollars

right?

The plan is to buy the houses and then forget about them until the government and their economy stabilizes.

Venezuela used to be a prosperous country due to their oil reserves. But lower oil prices and a welfare (communist) society so used to hand outs fucked it all up. However, the oil is still there; what they need is a better government.

Venezuela is getting ready to be opened to the Open Market (capitalism). Like a bride on her wedding night.

Open market won't help if you have shit institutions and unreliable judiciary system.

but then the government stabilises and you go sell your house, but you have people living in it, and even though the system has changed, the local judges would still vot ein favor of the squatters, right?

For kek's sake do you even know how poor those people are right now.

And you want to pump and dump them because you are an addict beyond recovery?

So cucked it hurts to see people act this way.

>risk of squatters

squatters can't do shit to a brick/concrete house. You can't think like that. They are going to mess up your windows, doors, toilets, and sinks. Those are casualties you have to accept. BUT that is immaterial; what matters is that you will own plenty of real state once their economy bounces back.

also, you would want prime real state in the capital. Not a shack out in the middle of nowhere. So, no ranches.

why would I want prime real estate?

(i had my eye on a cottage near a surfing beach )

Property in the capital is desirable, because that's where the good jobs are at. For your potential renters/buyers in the future. But for a personal home, hell yeah, the BEACH! is where its at.

so are you thinking of actually buying property there? is anyone in this thread serious about it? if so lets stay in touch, email me at [email protected] and we can add eachother on some chat thing like steam

>[email protected]

Noted, I'll see where things go with this, and I'll let you know what's up.

>buy 5 houses
>government takes away your houses and gives them to the poor
>government throws you in jail
>get stabbed to death in foreign prison

>This ATM in Las Vegas dispenses gold instead of cash.
>Prices automatically adjust every 10 minutes to reflect actual market value. The one ounce bar, at the moment, goes for about $1,323.

This might be handy.

LOL, but nobody ever got rich working a 9-5 job. Only your bosses.

Get rich or die trying.

Pro tip: Don't invest in socialist hell-holes.

>I.e Greece

im no lawyer or anything... but I think squatters/expropriation are same risk...

Squatters suing you and claiming they own the land, it's not good to be a colonist (look at jooberg).

suing you for ownership of the property

adverse possession in california

C section scar

No, it means the value of the house falls because the country literally falls apart internally.

Who the fuck wants to a buy a house in such a situation? No one, so the house is worth fuck all.

>Greece
>Socalist

Choose one

Yes its a great idea. People who did it in Weimar germany got pretty rich... the ones who survived that is. Of course /biz wouldnt have the balls for it.

...

this makes no sense, regardless of whether the economy is falling apart or not, people need to live in a house

the ones who survived? I dont understand, are you saying those who bought property during the war?

that's not the worst thing that can happen.
let's say the house retains and multiplies it's value.
but when you try to claim ownership you will realize somebody else owns it according to the official register. because in the mess either your ownership was never even filed or some corrupt official took care of the paperwork for a guy that paid him some pocket money.

Don't have much time so I skipped the whole thread, Venezuelan in Spain here.

First Venezuelas isp is banned so expect no insider info on the topic.
The housing/construction business is controlled by the Jews.
My family started buying a 80 square apartment and we jumped to a bigger one when the value got higher, 10 years later we are on a 600+ at one of the nicest zones in the city.
Ask me anything.

which is the nicest zone?

It is possible to live there as a foreigner WITHOUT getting mugged/kidnapped, by for example staying in door at night? Or will it always be a probability and not worth the risk ?

Venezuela is an insane kleptocracy that comes up with meme economics and conspiracy theories to hide what it is doing.

Some of the nice zones are Campo Alegre, La Lagunita, La Castellana, Country Club, Lomas de Las Mercedes.

This level of insecurity is go home>work>extra like the gym>home. Maybe stop by a restaurant from time to time but nowadays they don't have the material to work as one.

If you have the money you can get anything, when it comes to the insecurity it's all about being humble, don't wear expensive clothing, avoid exotic cars and wearing an expensive watch in public is asking to get killed. Don't get enemies (hitmen) and avoid posting your wealthy life on social media.

You can also get a body guard if you feel like expending the money.

Following these rules you fall now on the random area, be chosen randomly to have your phone/car stolen, just follow the usual steps like checking if you're being followed etc, it goes on and on so I'll cut it short.

Food can be bought on the black market and you can always have a quick trip to another country and bring all the shit you want (mainly medicine) if you have the contacts at customs.

The country is shit atm but we have so much riches that once this cancerous governent is kicked out (they are a narco state at this point so they'll never give in) we'll get all the kick back by the Jews to bring this country back into the glory it had in the 50's.

Thanks for all the feedback.

Can you name the coolest big new building in the nicest area? You gave me too many to choose from :/

If money is no object which are the coolest apartments in the city? I know I could name them for you for the cities Ive lived in so hopefully its not an impossible request.

Thanks!

>Food can be bought on the black market

what????

There's a nice one being built in Campo Alegre one street from the school with a church.
Google "bachaqueros Venezuela"

Well if you are going for one of that tier it would be almost a million usd, we are talking about 650m2

a communist society might not care much about foreigners buying their houses and not living in them, they might just take them from you "for the greater good".

fuck that looks like some heavy rain shit

heavy rain ruined this futuristic crap for me

Is it possible to buy houses at the black market price?

That guy is still president?

Would it be possible to scam this machine?

>wait for a increase in the price of gold
>buy gold before the machine updates
>rush to pawnshop and sell before price falls again
>rinse, repeat

how do you think the machine makes money?

they charge about 10% over spot, hope gold never goes up in value that much

I bet I could do it

He died in 2013, but this is the new one.

The bus driver.

venezuela isn't real communism

Everything is sold at the black market unless you did a 10 year queue with the government for a free one, you can see the black market exchange rate of our currency at a website called dolar today, the government uses their worthless official exchange rate the other way to get rich as fuck, since they get cheap dollars for nothing, let's say you get 1 dollar for 5 European cents, things are bad now because they still keep the money even when the oil prices went to shit and don't share it with the folk.

Tldr; No, selling your house at the official exchange rate is like selling your house at a 95% discount, everyone uses the actual dollar value from a website called dolar today.

Cont.
Just woke up, got your question wrong.
All houses are sold at blackmarket price and all of them paid in dollars transfers since the Bolívar currency is a crazy roller coaster thanks to the super inflation we have thanks to the retarded decisions the government usually makes.

Some friends and I were vacationing in Trinidad and decided to make a little sail trek to Venezuela. Before sailing up the Orinoco we spent a couple nights in this small town at the port called Pedernales. We lived like fucking kings with only $20 a day. I bet the shop owners would have even offered to wipe our asses to get us to use our dollars in their shops. Got to fuck a couple qt gold diggers too with near 0 effort. Don't worry, I used a jimmy cap

kek

Ah ok so the current black market value of a dollar is 3800 bolivares?

And a nice flat in the best neighbourhood costs around 800 million bolivares ( on the black market?)

If you want an apartment of such scale you can only pay in dollars and it might be around a million dollars or even more, we are talking about even having a free gym in a club house downstairs, a personal elevator only for you, a balcony with an amazing view of El Avila and the Golf fields, 650 m2 apartment, this is the top of the top.

You also get the chance to meet the rich people of Caracas, the best way to make friends would be going to a rich people gym since going to the mall etc is useless now days.

If you lice in Venezuela and you earn in dollars/euros you are pretty much a king and your living standard might be even godlike, you only have the horrible insecurity and daily paranoia. Even Ambassadors wish they get to be in this country since they are paid every hour like 5 times or even more what the minimum wage gets in a week/month and they get to live retarded rich people lives.

Gas is also cheap as fuck (cheaper than water) but you won't find diesel anywhere, you can bring your car if it's worth is less than 20k usd.

You only need contacts to bring you whatever you want from abroad (bachaqueros) and if you have the dollars you are pretty much a king. (this tip is important since you CAN'T find medicine in Venezuela, you will be forced to import these and if you happen to be in an accident prepare to bring all the medical material so they can attend you)

You can also have your fun minigame of buying and selling dollars, you can one day buy 1k dollars and have a week later the government announcing a sudden devaluation of the currency, making the dolar price skyrocket and get the profit.

With the soon to be available 500 and 1k bills im sure we'll get more and more inflation, you can use Zimbabwe as a reference if you want to have a cheat sheet.
My ID is changing because I'm phone posting, but tomorrow I'll be back in Germany around the afternoon and answer more questions.

I wouldn't do any investment in a country in turmoil. You never if the government will decide to seize your property and jail you because of nationalist fervor.

Before leaving, if you feel like investing in the worse country to do so, instead of buying a single apartment buy the middle class ones from all the people leaving the country looking for quick cash to pay their new lives, you might find many cheap ones and if there's no civil war/insurgency/ww3 invasion for our oil resources/ you might find yourself owning land that can be demolished in the long future and sold for a high price, Venezuela can reach United Emirates tier with ease in the future with enough support from outside if this timeline is not fucked.

What's stopping people from buying counterfeit usd and using it over there?

Where do you plan to use them?
Venezuela is pretty much using dollars at this point and they'll check if they are or not, and the main way of payment is by bank transfers, noone will accept your bills unless you are of trust.

And if they do they are ripping you off somehow because foreigner and the police have more important stuff to care about

You did not explain how you would make money if inflation is constant, literally confused me totally :/ what do you mean? Sell dollars then have worthless bolivares? how is that making money?

Thanks for all your other comments.

My one last question is can you live like a king in caracas, without getting killed? Surely the second you hire a stripper, her crony friends turn up and kidnap you right?

my (((financial advisor))) says there's no point in having gold or silver as part of my portfolio because they don't generate returns.

I said yeah, but they're not an investment, they're a hedge against inflation, right? He said even then they're not worth it because if you sell, you don't get the full value because the buy still has to make a profit, but I've seen people sell Gold for only $20 or $30 below spot.

My friend sold an ounce of Gold when it was at about $1,700 an ounce (during the worst of the recession that we're still in) so he could pay his mortgage, and they only took $30 off the spot price. His silver and gold were the only reason he made it through that shit.

Advisor also said that "the government has measures in place and things they can do to prevent a currency crisis". But that's just more Keynesian Jew bullshit to me. I want to have some shit that always stores value.

Is he playing me or what?

the gubbermint is placing limits on what you can buy or something. So black markets are filling the void, as they always will in such scenarios.

listen to him, gold is gonna go down silver even more so in the near future.
over a few decades stocks will outperform gold and silver many times.

How the fuck is that gonna happen with the debt and shit? What good is currency in stocks when the currency is worthless? I just want insurance. 10% of the portfolio, that's all.

You have your dollars but you'll only use this on real state or business, anything else you'll need Bolívares.
The exchange rate would only be profitable in huge amounts but the Bolívar value always goes up and down by a great margin. I'm taking about today its 2k and one day it can suddenly go up to 4k, you can profit from this.

Companies and business need to pay their workers in Bolívares and there's always the need of the bills since the hyper inflation is fucking with everyone.

If you plan to live in Venezuela you'll need the Bolívar currency to pay your bills, go out to eat pretty much anything, dollars will open the gates for everything but you'd rather pay with the worthless but super cheap Bolívares you bought than the strong currency you have.

10% is not gonna save your remaining 90% tho not even if what you think will happen happens.

I remember an article i read a couple years ago about very cheap houses in Detroit, you could buy a house for a couple hundred $. Does anyone know how that ended up?

they are now worth dozens of niggers.

they actually are bitcoin this meme is healing their country

Not even a couple hundred Fannie Mae was selling houses for $2.

Except all of the wiring and plumbing had been torn out of the walls, if the realestate agent followed you in the car would be gone after your tour, and the house was condemned. Oh and no property tax means no public services.
