just kill me now, my OCD is killing me

all my friends are saying its a bhg

Take it to the dealership. They obviously sold me a fake car.

I have an E46

>it's just my shitty temp gauge spazzing out again

>spirited driving
>notice temp gauge is slowly rising, pull over
>the radiator cap seal just broke and is spraying steam everywhere
>have to wait for friend to come give me some coolant
>go and buy new cap for 6 bucks
well atleast it wasnt something totally awful for once

>Needle jumping around in the red
>bang on the gauge cluster with my fist
>Needle steady in the center

why do people even post as anonymous
you're wasting your lives losers

Damn you lucked out

my luck runs out soon, my lower ball joints are popping badly and i need them replaced asap.

>my newly bought shit of a car had broken radiator fan
>i wasn't even aware of it through winter, it was cooling down on its own
>one time in the summer it leaked some coolant (safely, through the cap) after i parked it next to the shop
>drove home with almost empty coolant reservoir
>filled it with water, drove next week like that
>later, bought new fan and replaced coolant with well, real coolant
>absolutely nothing wrong had happened to the car overall

valuable experience, i've learned not to give a fuck. I recently had a leak again, this time on the track, because i forgot that my fan isn't working when engine is off. I filled it with water again, made sure to never turn off engine during the track event (it happened after i left the track for a break), and just drove it like that for the rest of the day.

This dude has a radiator cap for a yamaka.

I also tend to drive far away on a whim.

Fucking mazda and their bullshit coolant routes in the NA miata, that's going to be my christmas mission.

What do if car is burning coolant but oil cap, radiator cap and oil show no sign of milkshake?

Does white smelly smoke out tail pipe?
Does car tough to start after resting for night?

>mfw Toyota oversiezed cooler
>mfw temperture at 84°C during summer doing topspeed

I am considering a grill block for this winter, since I mainly drive consecutive short distances.

>ride motorcycle
>~8000 rpm most of time
>stop
>try to measure engine block temperature with thermal camera
>out of range
>temperature range of camera is 150°C

Should I be worried?

You know what's even better?
Engine overheats and there is zero indication that it was doing it until you see a bunch of white smoke coming out the exhaust.

Yes. Thermal breakdown for oil is about 110c, 120~ for synthetics. Not to mention the boiling point of pure water at 30PSI is about 250f/120c.

Are you sure you're not just pointing it at the headers?

user, that's terrifying. Also, those are cherries.

>Are you sure you're not just pointing it at the headers?
No, the header was even more hot.
I pointed from the side to the cylinder.
I tested it with some water on the cooling rips, it boiled away instantly.

Then yes I would say that is bad.

What bike?

>what bike
Old aircooled east german 2-smoke

I've seen a few chinese 2t's with heads approaching 400f/200c, but those were little ningers revving their tits off without care of consequence.

150c+ still sounds pretty hot.

My DR650 ran at 350*f/176*c no problem, aircooled can run up pretty high.
As long as when you back off it comes down, and you allow time for proper cooling after a hard run like that.

...

put synth oil in, that will move the needle back to center

>allow time for proper cooling after a hard run like that.
That is kind of a issue, since it does not have a cooling fan and therefore gets pretty hot in idle.
Sometimes I shut down the engine on a slope before ariving at home to allow for some cooling.

if your oil is milky when you change it then your coolant is going in there

this.

my fucking engine is a 1nz-fe and the radiator is probably fit to cool a v6.

Toyota seems to do things like that the right way, 1KR-FE here.
>engine at perfect temperature
>after redlining it for 2 hours straight on the Autobahn

>1KR-FE here

small engine, but knowing small Toyota engines, that thing probably hauls some ass. I would LOVE to take my car down the autobahn.

Well, it does 110 burger units per hour+ and has a gear longer than that.
Accelleration in 1st gear is decent, constant wheelspinn to 50 km/h

>Happened in my base model fiesta about a week after I had bought it
>Turn onto rural side street and rip 1st-2nd
>Cruise after that in 5th
>1min later all lights on dash come on, battery, water temp, service engine comes up on screen
>shut car off when i notice the digital gauge is pinned to max
>coast into empty parking lot
>freaking out pop hood, steaming, look in to see what went wrong, accessory belt broke off
>call insurance to get a tow, figure no stores can sell me a belt at 1am
>belt ends up costing 90 burgerbucks bc no autoparts stores can even order it, have to get it from dealer
Car still runs fine to this day, hopefully i didnt shorten its lifespan too much

>throw a few liters in the rad with hose.
>start car again and pray
I hate to be the one who tells you this, but your block is cracked now.
