Draw your tach in ms paint and label how it feels, try to guess the car if you...
tfw my car doesn't even have a tach
my bike does tho
atleast its reliable
this'll be a real hard one
Fiero with a body kit
2k normal cruising
2.5k OWO whats this
3k shits getting good
4k omfg im gonna die!
4.8k torque for days!
5k nothing, lmao jk youre in a truck
I misread what you wanted me to do and only realised after i'd made it. Have a weird personification of how my car feels.
Yall niggas obsessed with revs lately.
fucking lol @ 10k
It's the first thing I do when I look at a cars interior for the first time - where is the redline?
Anything less than 7k is trash.
No redline, Factory fuel cut is supposed to be 7krpm.
People claim theirs does anywhere above 7k up to 7600.
Not drawing because on phone
Cunt hair over 1K: warm idle without choke
2-3K: daily usage without angering THE LAW.
4-5K: peak torque, overtakes at extralegal speeds.
6-7K: you have awoken a great evil.
8-9K: peak power, full sanic.
10-11k: beyond the grasp of mere mortals. If you got the launch right without lifting the front wheel, you have now done 0-60 in less than 3 seconds.
12K: >implying you ever need to take it here
Ignorance is bliss.
(Phoneposting faggot here, excuse my lack of drawing)
Worn out 4AGE:
Idle lies here somewhere depending on the position of the planets in our solar system.
Engine lugs and shakes like an earthquake if you stare at the pedal too hard.
RPM I need to stay below to avoid burning more oil than gas.
Highway cruizing RPM, also hearing damage starts here.
Only for emergencies. Car will produce a large smoke screen to allow for a quick escape. Refill oil after each manouvre.
Untested. Possible engine disintegration may ensue if you proceed past 6000 RPM.
That's a fiero my friend
Fox body or F Body?
$10 nobody will guess what shitbox i'm driving
Wow, yours sounds like a complete piece.
700 - 1200
Idle is somewhere here depending on how warm it is.
1200 - 1800
Engine lugs, but doesn't shake.
1800 - 3500
Normal driving occurs around here, and drives like a modern day car really. Remarkably smooth for an engine with 300,000km.
3500 - 4400
Suddenly, double the power
4400 - 7600
TVIS butterflies open and it screams all the way out to redline.
Such a fantastic sounding engine.
Is it a truck? Mazda B series?
Nah, correct brand though. 2008 g6 gt
It's not a truck. It's not japanese either (or any other chinkshit)
Some sort of VW? Golf? Jetta?
Close, but not German either
Maybe I'm overexaggerating a bit, but I haven't had time to check things like timing and such. I have to agree it's a great sounding engine, but it's so fucking worn I can't enjoy it. I still need to see when I can take it apart.
ahh its fucked
It's a 307 2.0 hdi
Mine was an XUD, looks like nothing changed on the hdi engines lol
no power only noise
I gotta admit, for a 100hp car it feels fucking fast
Probably because of the torks
I have it simmilar with my 105hp 1.9 TDI, until 3k RPM it feels relatively powerful and then slowly dies.
is this a lupo?
c h e c k e d
Some SEAT then? Looks like it's from VAG.
Phoneposting so deal with it
idle pic related
lol just noise
More noise, neighborhood is angry but not raging at me. Will maintain speed but not much else
What’s dat woosh noise m8
GOD DAMN NIGGA WHAT IS THIS
WHEN ARE U GONNA SHIFT SENPAI
[DANGER TO OIL PUMP IMMINENT]
tfw my computer doesn't have ms paint
tfw 68hp 1.4 hdi
At least it's reliable
Hint: european brand
Too lazy to draw but it's a turbo diesel shitbox, and turbo diesels are the automotive equivalent of erectile dysfunction and premature ejaculation, you have to wait a long time for the turbo to spin up and you're out of revs before you know it.
The only reason you need to rev a diesel engine is too gas someone behind you
It's a miata
is that a VW polo?
Nah it's a gen1 mazdaspeed3.
hopefully it has a bit more power than a polo kek
In my turbo diesel Benz, the turbo spools very early and the power is fairly linear from low revs right up to the rev limiter. On the other hand, I owned some Nissan turbo diesel MPV before that, and it would be thoroughly gutless until you got over 2000 revs, then the turbo kicked in with the force of a thousand fiery suns. It sounds sort of fun, but it was more jarring than anything.
One of these with a couple of simple mods might be able to give it a run for its money.
Very true. Could always just do similar mods to mine and pull back ahead though.
And you'd have the displacement advantage for sure, half a liter on ~2 liter engines (1.8l vs 2.3l) is quite a bit.
That 1.8 20VT is a damn strong little engine though.
Interesting, I think the Evo's tach looks similar
The KA24DET experience
800- Lumpy Idle
2000- Litterally nothing
3000- Nothing because HX40=Lag
4500- Wastegate opens to atmosphere
5000- Holding 15psi
6000- Engine vibrations because KA
6500- Feels like engine about to vibrate to shreds
6900- BANG BANG BANG BANG *shooting 5 foot flames* (anti lag)
900 - idle
2000 - nothing
3000 - nothing
4000 - fuck you torque dip
5000 - fuck you more torque dip
6000 - oh look we started accelerating
7000 - the same as 6000 but just louder
7500 - hope you didn't like accelerating because you have to shift
fucking stupid naturally aspirated fa20
how reliable has your ka-t been so far? I really want an SR or maybe even an RB someday but the turboing it is pretty cheap.
he has never take his 4AGE past 5000rpm
Sell the car and get a V8, the 4AGE is not for you!
You driving a power plant, mate?
[DANGER TO OIL PUMP IMMINENT]
On top of that, the gauge looks vaguely Toyota, so I'm going to guess 2ZZ Matrix or Celica GT-S
Slow car fast
Check your engine user.
check out my tach bros
It is quite undergeared...
max torque at 4800 rpm
rev limiter starts at 6400 rpm
I don't like refilling oil after every gear change. I gotta fix it first.
Fuck off Danny you just can't drive
Old diesels usually relied less on the turbo; they kept compression up and the turbo boosted less.
Modern diesels lower the compression ratio and compensate with turbo. It is more efficient (when the turbo blows), but the engine is gutless without it.
GS or IS?
This is some dumb ass 15 year old Reddit type shit, fuck right off you autistic kid
Some kinda rotary I'm guessing.
Your mom can fuck me right off
His mom is actually pretty hot I’ve seen her irl
I pity you.
inline 4 400-650 bike ?
Volvo 740 with the wrong turbo.
How does it feel to own a 1.8 turbocharged 20 valve engine that, bonestock, even a meager 1.6 4A-GE outperformes?
Not even once.
You mean the "can't have the basic bitch models overshadow the performance trims" 150hp version of the 1.8T compared to the 170hp final revision of the 4AGE?
It's because the stock K03 turbo is tiny, by the way. All low-end torque and dead above 5k rpm. The blacktop 4AGE is the exact opposite, no torque but there's plenty of power way up there in the rev range.
Oy vey, we can't have these goyims have proper performance out of their 1.8t 20v engines without forking over their shekels, let's artificially limit it to, oh let's say, 150hp.
Imminent applause throughout Wolfsburg
Not even once.
It's because the stock K03 turbo is tiny, by the way
The Focus ST uses a K03 too and makes well over 200hp for only .2l more displacement
VAG is a meme
acquire old artificially limited basic bitch 1.8T VW
flash a tune
voiding the warranty on a VAG product
actually defending VAG's shady business practices
You cucks really are something else
Pay a premium for the turbocharged 20(!) valve edition of the Golf.
Go out on the road for a test drive.
Get overtaken by a 1982 TA63 Toyota Carina with the same 1.8 Turbo... BUT WITH 8 VALVES.
VAG Is pretty much a bad prank kept alive by soccermoms and dudebros with 0 knowledge of cars or technology. I hope you can see that now as well.
TURBOCHARGED TWENTY-VALVE 1.8L FOUR CYLINDER
only BARELY breaks 100hp/l with "a tune"
There are NA 1.8l engines out there making that kind of power, and VAG somehow needs five fucking valves per cylinder AND a turbo to do it.
8th gen civic?
GM 2H0: 1.8 NA, 16 valves
VAG manages to push only 10hp with 20 valves and turbo with same displacement
"""German engineering""" for you boys
VW 1.8T: 20 valves, 1781cc, turbocharged, 150hp, came out in 1995
Renault F7P: 16 valves, 1764cc, NA, 140hp, came out in 1989
So VW needs 5 valves per cylinder and forced induction to beat a 5 years older frog shitbox engine by 10hp? That's fucking pathetic.
I've never gone past 4
Nope. Issa Nissan
Single cylinder 2-smoke.
First build in the 70s
It shares the internals with a larger engine, sonit is quite overbuild...
'01 Civic D-17-A1. It's loud as hell because one of the previous owners cut holes in the muffler flange to make sure it would never be fixed.
R32 or 240sx?
Super reliable. Stock bottom end except for eagle H beam rods. Ive had a sr 240 before this KA and to tell you the truth the KA is alot more fun with gobs of torque. It will cost you the same amount of money to turbo the KA and make more power and torque than to just swap a sr or rb in.
You are like a baby
Get a motorcycle
Any redline under 11k is trash.
Get a motorcycle
Any redline under 11k is trash.
motorbike or tiny car?
John Deere 6320
Posting all the cars I drive.
May take a while.
I would say Defender, but your description of your engine troubles makes me think Range Rover.
Still on it. I wonder why they announce the horsepower figure on aspirated diesels; they are shit and we only use the torque anyways.
Spot on. It's a range rover with the 2.5 tdi. Good work vehicle, if your job involves going to the same places as tractors.
Also easy to keep running with little more than duct tape; engine is hard as nails and electrics are overrated.
Dorito. I'd guess a turbo FC.
Anybody want to try to guess my shitbox?
Close, 7th (2001 EX Sedan)
Whoops. See above.
Its a Polo 6n innit
300zx twin turbo?
eurofags might know, but probably too similar to many shitboxes
The colors might give it away
This. Not sure why any automatics have one desu.
Meanwhile a Peugeot XU9J4 makes 160hp with a 1.9 16v N/A engine and its been used atleast as early as 1987
Honda CRV its like that for mine atleast
And that's all.
1.9 PD TDI 101hp
wait for it
sudden kick in back
good power since 1900
drop off gradually until
car in autistic screech begging to be shifted
All that said, that 3rd gear 1900 to 2600 pull is pretty nice and the dropoff isnt that bad until 3200+. Pretty neat for a 100hp
Cellphone stylus yay
1500rpm idle on very cold days
2000-3000 rpm cruising mode
3000-4000 average pull in traffic
4000-6000rpm nice pulls and nice sound from the little 4 cylinder
6000-7000rpm engine sounds very good but not so much power anymore
tfw stock exhaust on my AW11
It sounds nice once the TVIS opens up and the revs climb, but below 4500 it drones quite a bit. I'd bash the cadillac converter out but it has a post-cat O2 sensor.
Complete piece of shit.
It feels great when it's at power, though.
It's a Nissan.
I don't have a tach
No, gasoline Buick Rendezvous.
what could it be?
Wouldn't matter. My car's transmission is slipping at a horrendous rate and can never decide what gear to stay in.
Its light weight and rally gearing make it pretty fast though
650 - idle
2k - stay under here during daily drives to preserve MANUFACTUER RECCOMENDED FUEL ECONOMY & AVOID UNNECESSARY LOAD ON ENGINE aka grandma modo
3k - 3.25k - where the she kicks out in the wet
3.5k - starting to hear this thing WORK. try to get it up to here at a green light to establish dominance, etc.
4.5k - I THOUGHT THIS CAR WAS SUPPOSED TO BE HEAVY WHY ARE WE CAREENING INTO THE SOUND BARRIER
5k - outer space
6.5k+ - limiter VVVVVVRRTTTNN TN TN TN TN
tfw smol bike has no tach
and no rev limiter
Every downshift at speed to pass traffic requires one to be at peace with idea of death
Sounds like my Lada
Nobody will guess.
(By the way, not my car)
Sounds like a 13b with register turbo setup, just like the FD had.
That's gotta be a TDI Jetta.
either ng900,9-3 or 9-5
Yeah it's an FD
The literal worst Honda engine
I have an auto 2005 and I can't say enough mean things about it
Gotta be a truck with revs like that.
Kenworth of some description?
