At what point is it okay to purchase Arcana? I feel like you've got to know the hero in and out before endorsing him/her in royal regalia. Otherwise you give out a fake impression and people will tend to give you midlane or safelane so you can carry the game, which you wont.

What kind of rationalization is this?
Just buy the Arcana if you want it. Buying it and practicing the hero with it gives you more value since you are playing more games after purchase.

It's fun, I never play heroes without cosmetics, it gives me incentive to learn them.

Luna is easier than qop in that regard but i would suggest juggernaut or sven. If you absolutely need to play a ranged hero i guess luna is ok

So I just queued into my first normal match and my team got absolutely dumpstered and my viper rage quit halfway through.
