"The enemy is the German Reich and not Nazism, and those who still havent understood this, havent understood anything." - Churchills chief counselor Robert Lord Vansittart (September 1940 to foreign minister Lord Halifax)

What did he mean by this?

It means Nazism shouldn't be stigmatised as it is because it's by far the best political ideology.

It's because National Socialism is just a particular, leftwing expression of German militarism, which has existed for much longer in many different forms.

Unification was a mistake

Nazism is dope, we're just perfidious kikes that hate continentals

t. albion

france could have beaten germany

>best political ideology
>a belief that is based on lies, conspiracy and delusions of grandeur
>Nazism is a great ideology

It means that Winston admired the Nazi ideology, it would seem. At the same time, he formed a great relationship with Stalin, despite him wanting to "strangle Bolshevism" at birth.

>nazism
>dope

Speak for yourself, lad

>a belief that is based on lies, conspiracy and delusions of grandeur

literally all political ideologies

a political philosophical system wont ever makes its way in the world unless the leaders and forefathers lie about it, conspire to spread it, and glorify it.

True. What was it that Goebbels said?
"Tell a lie that is big enough and people will believe it?"

Not me, that's literally what England was saying Tbh

He saw the obvious - Germany was a big and developed country and had the potential of being the dominant power on the continent. Obviously Great Britain didn't want that to happen and it was important to now allow Germany to become that powerful.

That quote can't be traced to any source. It originated in secondary sources around 15 years ago.

>nazi defense force detected
Have you even read it? It's in chapter 10.

>in the big lie there is always a certain force of credibility; because the broad masses of a nation are always more easily corrupted in the deeper strata of their emotional nature than consciously or voluntarily; and thus in the primitive simplicity of their minds they more readily fall victims to the big lie than the small lie, since they themselves often tell small lies in little matters but would be ashamed to resort to large-scale falsehoods. It would never come into their heads to fabricate colossal untruths, and they would not believe that others could have the impudence to distort the truth so infamously. Even though the facts which prove this to be so may be brought clearly to their minds, they will still doubt and waver and will continue to think that there may be some other explanation. For the grossly impudent lie always leaves traces behind it, even after it has been nailed down, a fact which is known to all expert liars in this world and to all who conspire together in the art of lying.

Wasn't he describing how Jews behaved?

(((Hitler))) was 1/4 Jew.

Better give the OP another read, bud. You fucked up pretty bad.

What I infer from it is that Churchill was saying this wasn't an ideological conflict with Germany but a political one. IE they were fighting Germany's government, not fighting that government's ideology. Say for example that Britain and America was at war, Churchill would say "This is a war with the United States government, not a war with democracy."

He formed a working relationship with Stalin out of political necessity (the enemy of my enemy etc), but Churchill was historically always more ideologically opposed to Communism than Fascism. Fascism was a potential check on communists, who Churchill felt was more of an issue.

Germany managed to blow what could have been a good relationship between Britain and Germany by pushing around Britain's allies and guarantees and antagonizing the British. The second world war put the nail in the coffin of what had previously been a popular ideology.

> leftwing
National socialism isn't left wing, nor is it right wing.

The correct answer.
