The diminishing returns are inherent in making it stack additively. In your example, the 30% buff is really just a 20% damage increase past your first buff.
This is just much cleaner than the previous system of "everything's multiplicative, except we apply crazy staircased stepdowns to every buff past the first."

What does it mean that EOV made buffs "additive". Does this mean I can stack, say, two different skills that both add attack? Or does it mean I can finally have more than three buffs on a char? Kinda hoping it's the latter, as that's always kept me away from troub-like characters.

Check your FBI version or something.
The files are definitely still on the server so it's an error on your side somewhere.

Assuming that you have it already installed and that you have GodMode9.
Browse down to [A:] SYSNAND SD and press R+A and Search for titles.
Afterward browse to the bottom until you find the EO V DLC (0004008c001c5100).
A > TMD file options... > Build CIA (standard).

There's also a windows method using python if you prefer that.

I can't get the DLC QR codes to work. Fucking hell I've been pointing at the screen at different angles for about 20 minutes now.

There should be an option to update FBI, if it isn't, then your version is old as fuck.

Launch FBI. There should be a an update option in the main menu. Once it finishes you just restart it.

Tips for Crystal Dragon on advanced?

Teams around 42, dragoon on the frontline, can get up 3 level 10 bunkers no prob, my monk alone can take out 2k of its 21k hp in one turn.

The issue is that depending on its attack it'll just arbitrarily one shot party 1-2 party members based on RNG, a combination of defense up / attack down does not help the problem.

Solutions? Tips?

Yes, Fort-chan is very cute!

You might want to grab a few more levels. 42 is below average. Also, it starts out weak to Physical and only uses Elemental attacks in its normal mode. When it switches, it uses Physical attacks and is weak to Elemental attacks.
