It feels really stupid buffing and supporting computers that barely know what to do with it. Mage and sometimes mystic knight just make me wish I was playing with people.
Kayden Thompson
Alright new threads, post your Arisens, show us your heroes of a new cycle!
Julian King
thanks for using my pawn vaiire. He's not really kitted out at all, neither does he have the right inclinations, I just use him as a pack mule. Also I apologise if you have gotten joe back without full stars. I've been savescumming and rolling NG's so idk if that returns pawns with default 3 stars. He hasn't died once and I haven't dismissed him.
Jace Mitchell
Why aren't you playing DDO?
Andrew Flores
going to clear through bbi and start goldforging my shit next time i play

Anthony Turner
that's an interesting pair you've got there, they got names?
Isaac Evans
No worries, mate. I ain't the type to get fussy over ratings, so it's all good. Good luck with the grind.
Nicholas Foster
I honestly didn't think about the ratings until just now. do pawns get the 3 stars if you go into NG or savescum? I'll make sure to manually dismiss him if it does.
Bentley Myers

Literally just got my pawn at the encampment can anyone gift me Lv.3 BBI weapons?
Hudson Johnson
Since we're talking about how unique and fun assassin is (the most fun vocation [objectively]), can anyone else not get enough of intimate gamble? It's extremely basic but so satisfying to use, and does great damage and stagger. I never take it off
Grayson Clark
you can't use them without stamina limitations until level 51 or some shit, if you didn't know already
Matthew Ramirez
you're not actually having fun you're only pretending, strider is more fun objectively you fucking IDIOT
Evan Jenkins
i haven't actually used that move yet, i'll have to give it a go.
Matthew Morales

Julian Butler
were you just brining your pawn at every opportunity or something?
Luke Ward
>I thought sorcs and mk too no? nope, only mage. Sorcs get voidspell which clears the more dangerous ailments though. MK gets a spell that puts things to sleep and MA gets a spell that slows things, both of which are really good spells that don't appreciate much use because few people meme with staff on those vocations.
>something i noticed too. I have always a buff bot supporting me and actually gave a very short spin and now kinda want to try it later who is more effective in that departmen sorc or mk? Sorc's buffs last longer. MK's are stronger though iirc, and buff everyone at once instead of one target at a time. Kind of a matter of taste but I find playing MK feels like you're constantly racing buff timers while using shit with excruciating charge times, but if you're playing MK as pure support, trances will be better than affinities and you can even use the staff to put shit to sleep (or cast the longer-lasting affinities).
>The mage one, i only seen it once in action by a hireling and didnt notice anything since fighting against low bobs Oh, I forgot about spellscreen. It's like a purely defencive version of MA's magic rebalancer, it has to be cast four times for full effect but actually doubles defences. So yeah, that's useful, but only if you are getting hit or your pawns are warriors/sorcs that rely on huge charge timers so just helping them up isn't acceptable, and only if the player is using it since pawns aren't smart enough to cast it four times in quick succession to stack it.
Fair enough but I mean more in the sense of "there is no one class that does everything assassin does, though a few classes cover everything it does and does them better." Three different vocations do everything a mage does and more, and just one of those also does the mage things better than mage does.

So mage is still fun because it can do shitter versions of what another class can do and only two-thirds or what two other classes can do? I refer you to my earlier posts about your opinions being shit.
Thomas King
>two-thirds One-third*
Andrew Myers
'tis aloft!
Evan Cook
ok, thats actually important. I didnt know that no other class has healing (didnt really mess around with anything sorcery and buffing) Now i only need to test how viable andonyne is in a realistic scenario (fate chamber) and that buff sounds pretty strong, casting it 4 times shouldnt be a problem eiher since its a buff bot anyway, either you like it or not. So speaking coimpletely from a buff perspective (ignore debuffs mk/ma) mage would probably come out on top right?
Ian Johnson
Started over earlier today
Do you have some kinda brain damage m'dude? I never said it's the most fun vocation, I said it's still fun. The fact that a few specific other things are more fun and versatile doesn't make mage less fun or versatile, it makes those more fun. Mage is still a lot more fun than assassin and a lot more versatile than any non-blue vocation.
Oliver Young
>Mage is still a lot more fun than assassin He won't quit
Juan Williams
oh shit, you are actually that assasin hater dude and contributing 90% of the time, i AM impressed. really weird that we both share a love for mage but there is such a strong dissonance concerning assasin
Jonathan Russell
>So speaking coimpletely from a buff perspective (ignore debuffs mk/ma) mage would probably come out on top right? MA also gets a spell that buffs stagger res and another that protects the whole party from ALL ailments (but it's a preventive measure rather than a reactive one), and holy affinity allows pawns to heal themselves with their attacks (holy's special effect is lifesteal). On top of that magic rebalancer doubles magick defence and magic ATTACK, which is obviously insane paired with sorc pawns. So I would say that just like with everything else MA is probably the best buffing class.

any sorcs on PC around 35? time to start synching
I don't even hate assassin. I've just played at least three runs as every vocation save mage (because there's no point in not switching to sorc even if you're just using mage spells in BBI, which is primarily where I play), and of those 8, the only one that has made me want to play a different one the whole time I played it every time was assassin. Everything it does just feels like a disappointing version of something else, and in turn makes me miss the way cooler things that something else can do that assassin simply can't. It's a jack of all trades, master of none scenario, except without the versatility that implies since its two primary weapons function almost identically.
Nolan Gray
Meh and ugh. MK maybe worth a spin. Something interesting i noticed about mage and that green ehaling spell tho, pawns that a hurt (around 15% hp) prioritize healing above all else, making it pretty interesting tool to command pawn navigation (maybe even force/focus them on a single target/targets in a specific radius). That could be a pro for mage being not the worst class (and neither assasin!!!)
Easton Ward
Sorry to the pawns who just got vanished into thin air. That was my first encounter with Death
Isaac Morales
how close his he now?
Tyler James
By the time you've got your buffs out as a mage everything will already be dead. MK and MA sort the entire party at once in a quarter of the time. It ain't a contest.
You're retarded because your entire argument for why assassin is bad is that three other classes do what it does better, and the same is true for mage. Both MK and MA can bring a staff for spells and use their shield/bow to buff the party far more effectively than a mage can (which you also state right there) and carrying a handful of curatives is ten times more effective than anodyne. >m'dude Don't tip your fedora at me, faggot.
Robert Long
If you rehire them and dismiss them before resting at an inn or crashing on Olra's or Barroch's couch, they get the rating you give them instead of 3-3-3s and keep the RC they earned.

Fuck yes, love spamming that shit on gobs and saurians, and watching them stutter closer. Plus the fact that it works on some big monsters is really nice.

It has unique skills. This is fact. You cannot do bow+sword or dagger+shield with any other build. This is fact. You need to stop getting hung up on optimization and efficiency in a game that's easy as fuck regardless of what you do.
Samuel Gray
Probably a matter of preference but dont forget that the dagger equivalent of the bomb skill is worse in radius and ground attack making it ultimativly inferior to the bomb in a heavily crowded scenarios. And how is clarvoyance bad when compared to other evasion skills? Its spamable and comes with free counter damage. I dont really get what other classes are doing better besides maybe damage, which is out of sicussion since daggers have just about any relevant single target damage skill that is worthwhile
so its muh damage again. What if im playing with a suboptimal buildwith retarded pawns (what i currently am) I think they fill specific roles. i noticed for example doing considerable damage in post game with mage buffs while weilding an unehanced beginner sword (not rosted the other) making fashion even more viable. I think you are arguing niche here going out from an arbitary standarts of speedrunners/very eperienced players

Is there anything more orgasmic then a well timed Arc?
Hudson Morales
Fashion is more viable if you play a class that can buff those unoptimised swords more effectively, or as you would call it 'muh damage'. You asked about why mage is called the worst, it's because it's less effective at its job than other classes; that's not arbitrary standards of speedrunners, that's just how the class is. If you like it and want to play it anyway that's fine, but don't go getting bitchy because you don't like the answers you've gotten.
Nathaniel Jenkins
warrior best class, warrior most fun class Dragon's warrior general

>size represents fun and versatility You can't use the same metric to measure a subjective opinion and an objective fact at the same time, you fucking moron.
Nicholas Hill
>It has unique skills. This is fact. But only one of them isn't just like another skill, and only that one is fun. It also isn't a sword skill.
>You need to stop getting hung up on optimization and efficiency Still seems to me like the only one hung up on that is you!
>the dagger equivalent of the bomb skill is worse in radius and ground attack making it ultimativly inferior to the bomb in a heavily crowded scenarios It's more spammable and the opposite is also true for strider's bow version.
>And how is clarvoyance bad when compared to other evasion skills? Its spamable and comes with free counter damage. So are MK ripostes. Full moon slash also has iframes and does damage, and even has a similar animation to clairvoyance, and the real kicker is that since it's generic assassin even gets it in addition to clairvoyance. Perfect blocks knock shit flat on its ass, and I don't know how anyone could argue that's less satisfying than clairvoyance or *teleports behind u* kill.
You can when versatility is where fun comes from, or when the two JUST HAPPEN to TOTALLY COINCIDENTALLY always be similar for reasons TOTALLY UNKNOWN TO SCIENCE.

In the final battle, how far can I go back to my Pawn version of my Arisen before triggering the ending? Can I talk to it? What happens if I kill the NPCs in the fight/hallway? I assume nothing would happen, but still. Do each say something, or is it only Quina, Julien, randomly picked ones?
Can I not kill Savan? And if it's true from what I heard about the final fight in other files/NG+, does the voice actor of each Arisen voice do all the dialogue?
Lucas Jackson

Wyatt Jones
I may not be a warrior main but even i've played it enough to know the FUN
Mason Wilson
>versatility is where fun comes from Are you seriously this retarded? Do you understand what the term versatility means? Assassin is objectively more versatile than fighter. It has more weapons. It has more options. It can fight at range with a bow. It can utilise specialised debuff arrows and blast arrows and the maker's finger. It is simultaneously designed for mobility, climbing, and tankery. This is not a matter of debate or opinion, it is fact. The fact you think all the options it has are weaker versions of what other classes can do doesn't change that it has more of those options at its disposal, and as such is more fucking versatile you actual moron.

>didn't catch that I was being sarcastic from the fullcaps REASONS UNKNOWN TO SCIENCE isn't lacking a sense of humour supposed to be a sign of autism? The image is a simplification because I didn't feel like making four needlessly detailed diagrammes when two could get the point across fairly accurately. Obviously warrior for instance is very fun relative to other classes but is also the least versatile so none of that holds up.

>Being a faggot contrarian
No, I'm stating that in those two cases fun and versatility happen to be similar in terms of the relation between classes. It's pretty telling that you're nitpicking so hard at this point while I'm still pretty much reiterating shit I said three hours ago. Maybe you should try coming off the defencive, fuccboi.
Charles Brooks
>when you charge up a perfect arc and some pawn steals your kill

All you've done for three hours is move goalposts, stumble over your own points endlessly, and prove that you cannot fathom someone enjoying something that you don't enjoy, or enjoying anything for any reason other than it being the best option.

Levi Gray
because when i'm not playing assassin then i'm playing Magic knight, also i need a good tier 3 sword for assassin, i just have a MK mace right now
Samuel Williams
>All you've done for three hours is move goalposts Refer to the picture in the post you quoted but also add to that "create strawmen." I've stuck to my guns hard and the closest I've done to "stumbling over my own posts" is struggle to simplify what I'm saying enough for you to understand when giving you the benefit of the doubt that you were failing to grasp simple concepts rather than creating strawmen.
>and prove that you cannot fathom someone enjoying something that you don't enjoy I can, and in fact I enjoy assassin (in theory- that is, if it had been the first class I had taken to max rank, I would have enjoyed it out of ignorance of what other classes had to offer). What I cannot fathom is someone acting as though assassin has fun AND unique gameplay, relative to the other vocations- let alone better gameplay than strider, which is what the original argument was about, in case you've forgotten. Nevermind the person originally defending assassin (was it you?) demonstrated their ignorance of how strider plays and their fixation on dominant strategies by stating it was nothing but helmsplitter spam, but a few people got pretty assmangled when I backed up the other guy saying assassin was boring and actually offered an explanation for WHY I thought it was boring. Apparently critique is sacrilege here, at least if you're a big fan of the assassin vocation, which come to think of it actually fits this whole situation pretty elegantly.
>or enjoying anything for any reason other than it being the best option Somehow the one point you have managed to stick to is, in fact, a response to a strawman. Really baffling.
Aiden Young
I'm sorry you're a bit slow-minded, friendo. Life must be tough for you. I could add you on steam or something if you wanna talk about it in PM.
More like >accusing the guy that got so mad at what he himself has claimed repeatedly is a completely subjective opinion that he started an argument that he then continued for three hours of being a contrarian
Christian Martinez
>woldros
Matthew Powell
Again that isn't what contrarian means. It's okay to not know the meaning of words, user, but when you use words you don't understand (such as versatility) then what you're trying to say and what you actually say are two completely separate things, leading to completely pointless discussions like this one. When in doubt just google it. You'll save everyone a lot of time. Also look up suicide.
James King
Hm, then would you mind helping me? I think I must not know what all these other words mean either, because it sure looks like, outside of the specific connotation of referring to stock exchange (which nobody here was talking about in the first place, so I really cannot begin to fathom why brought it up), I was using it absolutely correctly.
Jordan Jackson

Brandon Myers
It differs by vocation, MK and assassin take the most yet for some reason (read: some dev loved the shit out of the class and gave it every semi-reasonable edge possible) MA requires 4500 less DCP to hit rank 9 than the other hybrids. Next highest is sorc, then warrior, then best vocation ranger, and the basic vocations are tied for fastest ranking.
Non-MA hybrids are 50600 total/14500 from rank 8 for rank 9, basic vocations are 29000 total/7500 from rank 8 for rank 9, so the difference is pretty huge.
