Aerospray is average. Stick to the Splattershot Jr. if you want to paint. The Splash-o-matic is the best painter in the game, if you've unlocked it.

How so? Aerospray rate of fire is undisputed. If you just want to ink turf as janitor, and minimize head to head engagement as way to grind points, it seems like a no brainer.

Aerospray is shit right now. I say that as a certified Aerospray main with almost 3 years of experience. It is the worst gun in the game, worse than memetuber.

Yes. Perfect accuracy and high bullet travel-speed make it a really reliable weapon. Paints like a firehose, has170p Inkjet so it getsit constantly, and has high ink efficiency which lets it make good use of Toxic Mist.
Inkjet and Toxic Mist are both zoning tools, so it's a decent control weapon. If Mist weren't so mediocre, the Splash would be amazing.

Jr. paints better than Aerospray. Former is 12 shots per second, Aero is 15. Not a huge difference. There are other factors that affect how well a weapon paints (blob size, droplet rate and pattern, etc.) and the post-nerf Aerospray is worse than the Jr. at these.

Splash sucked for the same reasons that Jr. sucked (Bubbler notwithstanding); it was a short-range weapon.
Short-range weapons are OP now, and the Splash was pulled out of obscurity by its painting buff.

Fire rate isn't everything, it's also blob sizes and quantity. Even within same fire rate there can be big shifts, Dapples to Nzap to Sploosh to Dualies to Splash to Jr form an obvious progression from worst to best.
Right now Aero barely inks more than regular Splattershot.

That's why it pisses me off. The fact that 90% of all comp games have at LEAST one Splattershot is infuriating. I hate it so damn much. Its the biggest crutch in the game.

Blasters are all too forgiving in their usage. Literally just point in someone's general direction and you'll more than likely get a kill even if your aim sucks. And it only gets worse when latency is involved and you have players' shots coming out of their dead bodies.

You can use plenty of different non-Splattershot weapons and succeed. If it wasn't the Splattershot being used most often, then you'd just be complaining about its replacement.

You guys who want blasters nerfed always look at positives and overlook negatives. Strict positioning (and yes, Luna's "no range" counts), no mobility, no efficiency, no inking, very succeptible to pressure and rushdowns, it has to work to stay alive which is arguably more important than splatting, and needs either heavy support or be an absolute god of murder to not get choked. Some players are idiots and play it stupidly, but then again, they're the same idiots who used RG for baller and not for turf control and got it nerfed, look where it is now.

You can, but it's hard to argue with an "instawin an engagement" button and burst bombs that extend Splashdown's kill range without giving it long action like Splat Roller or Blaster get, in addition to main weapon that's supposed to be above average in everything but is actually top-tier offense by itself, and, again, "Get over here!" burst bombs. A gun that kills this good shouldn't have this many options and/or this much support prescense, and vice-versa.

Unless they try and change kits, it's probably not going to get any worse. Nerfing anything about the Splattershot either fucks over other weapons unfortunate enough to have Burst Bombs/Splashdown, or just makes other close-range shooters exceed in the same way the Splattershot did.

Nerf Splashdown to 35 outer rdius damage, tank Splattershot's efficiency and turfing capability, slightly nerf run speed (nothing dramatic, just to Clash/Heavy speeds), and put a 240-point special charge requirement. Bring Tentatek back to sub-200 point special in return.

Oh, and finally buff Splat Roller, Gootuber and Blaster because they're hit by Splashdown's nerf the most as they can't finish off people not killed by it if it's 35 damage.
