How exactly does it matter that Dark General is bronze? She's basic so you can't craft/vial her and the drop rate of leader skin cards is separate from normal card rarities. That only leaves the look of the card frame and bronze seems to match her color scheme better.

Same shit happened to me with the Granblue sleeves event. The day I finally decided to go in and grind them out was the day after the event ended.

Most of the Fate stuff honestly isn't even that good. I can't deny that Illya is nice though, but she does a lot of voicework for this game anyway so there's a pretty good chance she'll be another leader eventually.
