>angels as guiding star
?
Expand on your question.

Because you're only looking at certain cultures which confirm your viewpoint.

>why do most( if not all) religion/cultures have angels as guiding star?

Which religions/culture?

What do you mean by angel?

What do you mean by guiding star?

First of all I'd say you're completely wrong and that angels only really appear in the Abrahamic religions, since they are all based off the same source material, which included angels.

christian is a given.
greek, Nike the winged
jew:cherub
muslim: buraq

i could go on

What angels are there in tribal shamanism?
What angels are there in Vajrayana?
What angels are there in the Babylonian translations?
What angels are there in the GMP?

youre missin' the point, seems like on purpose..

Not really.
I'm trying to get to the bottom of what you mean.

Can you explain "guiding star"? You talking about asterism? Stellar mysticism? Or more like metaphorical guides?

No you are

Someone pointed out that angels only really exist in Abrahamic Religions, you then list Abrahamic angels and one entity that is only marginally similar
Then it's pointed out you haven't shown them to exist in other religious traditions and you accuse them of missing the point

pretty much, yeah.
but we only got some few sentences here. People write books about it.
angel=messenger

>but we only got some few sentences here.
I got no problem with paragraphs of material. This board doesn't in general.

>Angel=messenger
So you're not concerned about the asterism bits and are curious about guides?

So you mean a person with wings?

Because that's not what angels are actually like in the old testament at all, for most of time.

It came about in Christianity through direct reference to Ancient Greek and Roman art in the Renaissance era.

>Because that's not what angels are actually like in the old testament at all, for most of time.

Always reminds of this comic for some reason.

And what about all the bird people/people with wings that can be found across the world that have no connotations of being a messenger or a guide?

im not concerned about anything, its all fairyrales!
you seem to missed the messenger part...

Except as we've established, there's a lot more to being angel then being a person with wings.

So what the fuck DO you mean by angel?

Just an "otherworldly messenger/guide"?

Because that's really fucking vague and not an accurate description of an angel.

Three of those are abrahamic and come from the same traditions and mythos

And Nike isn't a messenger.

Nike is victory personified. It has nothing to do with angels, guides, or stars.

And he wonders why his thread on /x/ got yanked.

go back, son. I was asking a question. 1st
same as above..

Christ, he's trying to argue angels were real and they were aliens, isn't he?

Your question is based upon fundamentally wrong assumptions and you're an idiot for asking it.

Happy?

Ophanim is love.
Ophanim is life.

because I asked?
'why do most( if not all) religion/cultures have angels as guiding star?'

is an angel even realy a 'person' tho?

arent abrahamic angels more like invisible holy robots made of spirit, no free will and so on?

Dude, it's 26 replies in, and still, nobody understands what the fuck you're on about.

Put the bong down, wash your face & wake up, eat some lunch, and come back with some questions or coherent assertions.

couldnt care less for your assumptions.

It's probably because of good old Ramiel.

>holy robots made of spirit, no free will and so on?
Now we're getting somewhere.
That's more later doctrine than early Abrahamic mysticism.
Lots of angels dissent from God for this or that reason. Check out the Books of Enoch which give a list of beings thought to be seditious angels.

"Person" as in humanoid figure.

go back, son. dont think the the world of yourself, because you can be anonymous

You clearly do, since otherwise you wouldn't be asking for our opinions.

If you're just here to have your point of view validated then you may be here for the wrong reasons.

Some appear as more or less humanoid. Metatron and Azra'il were Enoch and Azra, and then were lifted up.

Yeah, actually, I'm getting a fairly "I'm high" vide off of this whole thread now he mentions it.

Sure thing, enjoy your thread, friendo.

I'm really only talking about angels as they appear in Western Renaissance art.

Guys how come all religions in the world have dark elves? Wait you're saying that only a very limited number of religions do, and they are related to one another? W-well, fuck you.

Burak is not an angel

Your question was why do different religions have angels as guiding stars.

Three of the four religions you provided come from the same traditions and thus have similar beings in their stories. Jews, Christians, and Muslims share the same mythos. Itself coming from several other cultures present in mesopotamia like the Zoroasterians.

Outside of those however 'angels' are quite different. Nike is nowhere near comparable to Abrahamic angels. Nor are the Valkyries of Norse myth. Or the winged serpents of mesoamerica.

So to answer your question, they don't. The ones that are similar share their traditions

whatever. guys.I started out askinkg abbout angels? you miserable failed. to understand.
see. I dont give a fuck.
ban me from this planet, Seriously, i dont give a fuck.

No wonder /x/ booted you out. You have no interest in actually having your question answered.

Ban yourself from life, friend.

>rants incoherently
>blames others for not understanding

great answer.. a little late. but hey.

lmfao

Shit, you ARE high, aren't you?

>a little late. but hey.
