Having just watched this video ( youtu.be/6fwxVg94VBw ) posted last thread, it all makes sense now, especially after seeing this picture and putting 2 and two (2) together. I know an user summarized the 2hr video in a paragraph or two, but still, getting to watch it was quite entertaining, nice to finally know the whole story (or at a much bigger part of it) now.

Still, the fact that fatty gaijin shows up in the end of the original game for a 2 minute cameo makes me wonder exactly what their original intentions with her (And the others) were, and how far along this 4D chess game of making Re:dive was planned out.

My moonrunes are far from perfect, but I can say that, from my understanding of the video, user and I interpreted the same story.

From what I gather, Kyaru/Carol and Mana are related. Put together that Perorin was foreshadowed as early as 2015 and it really feels like they had all this shit planned all along.

As far as I remember she's a top tier SR dps. She is pretty common in that they give her out in a couple of events. She's great in all content.

Kyaru's story elaborates on a couple of things.
Mana was actually one of the original developers of mimi
Kyaru has immense respect for her due to how much she loves technology.
According to her mother Kyaru and Mana are actually distant relatives.
She's a poorfag and has to work for all her living expenses due to familal issues; also currently saving for college.
Her love for technology and learning about her relationship to Mana leads to her secretly buying mimi, though she admittedly barely has time to play.
The reason she chose the name Kyaru was actually an input error. She stuck with it because it sounded cute.

Following the translation made by and mixing it with the game plot, it basically goes like

>Kaiser aka Mana sneak attacks Minerva, the game's Goddess AI, after she manifests before your party to grant your wish.
>She attempts to force her to grant her wish of creating a new world, but Minerva explains she cannot grant that wish as it is not the wish her heart truly desires.
>In frustration she attempts to completely seize control over the system and the reconstruction of the world begins
>She wipes your team out (Re:Dive Prologue) and her wish gets granted, causing her "new world" to become the new "real world" while destroying/replacing the old "real world" in the process.

It's sort of both. There are two explanations for what happened.
A) Parallel world where you and your party lost to Mana and she recreated the world.
B) Follow up to after the ending of the first game; Mana did not escape in time, yet was not explicitly said to be dead. It could be after the world was recreated Mana once again sought to recreate the world and succeeded this time.

There's a bunch of Rs and SRs which are really good in their roles to the point where you don't need SSRs themselves but I don't think it's discussed in this general, you'd probably have better luck somewhere else. I played this long ago in CN so I can't say.
Ones I remember are: Zashiki who is a mana battery, Heiyo is an aggro tank, Shouzu, Yamausagi who is a buffer. I would keep most SRs as I remember most of them being pretty good.

I'm very inclined towards A, bunch of game companies seem to be doing the "Oh the happy ending was a lie and the true end was actually the bad end".

See stuff like Dungeon travelers 2-2 for Japanese games or XCOM 2 for western games if you want an example where the canon end to the game isn't the happy ending where the main characters triumph but the ending where they fail to stop the main villians and their loss is what makes the sequel happen.

She's a reluctant spy working with NIGHTMARE who are most likely working for Mana.
You already learn about her involvement with them in Ch.2 and her failed assassination attempt on Peko in Ch.4
Ending B allows for more development in the real world and introduction of more characters with seamless integration and not straight up retcon.
Nonetheless either ending reaches the same conclusion in which everyone is trapped in Mana's new world.

The difference here is that Pricon was a gacha mobile game so if they go with the bad ending some whales will be REALLY pissed that all the money they threw into the game didn't even let them have a happy ending in the end

The point I was trying to make is that both of those games end on a happy note and have a happy ending where your party defeats the big bad and everyone lives happily ever.

Then the sequel comes and it turns out the happy ending you enjoyed isn't the real ending and the canon ending to the series was actually a bad ending where your party loses to the big bad which leads into the second game. Its pretty much what they're doing with this and they even added re: to the title to be even more trendy.

Now that I think about it, the question that needs to be asked but nobody did would be about Pecorine's standing and if she's really that important for all that.

Maybe she's some kind of big shot but the story really paints her as this kind of airhead who would and will eat absolutely everything from enemies to her own weapon.

The next chapter preview shows her standing before Mana on her throne and another scene of her getting shocked, so its likely she switches sides.
