Why hasn't the United States embraced its true nature as an imperial power yet?

Why hasn't the United States embraced its true nature as an imperial power yet?

>Trump gets assassinated
>Trumps adopted Jewish son in law become first Emperor of the USA
>???

The american citizenry is too soft, after the destruction of a political party can america only have a chance of becoming an empire

Who would sink the killing blow as Trump lay bleeding in congress?
Would Bannon be Mark Antony?

slightly off topic but that's actually a pretty sweet flag.

...

Would need a night of long knives and a unifying ideological sentiment that gains critical mass then just sort of rolls off the momentum from there. You'd have to have checkers board get its shit together. Can I just move to mars?

once we get rid of the republicans and establish that the "people" are in control . we can declare on whomever we please without the masses protesting

This. The Left is incredibly good at manipulating masses to do whatever they want.

This flag is uglier than the one already in use.

But why would the left ever pursue imperial ambitions? Their entire platform smacks of anti-imperialist rhetoric.

Because the current (new) left is becoming everything they preach against, and I don't see that ending any time soon.

Mike Pence

Marc Anthony == Banon who runs off to Europe to commandeer a race war

I'd rather not have an empire ruled by hypocrites, then.
At least the republicans support military buildup, which is one of the integral tenets of imperialism.

ITT: retards think empires are inherently autocratic

But it did? It's been an empire in all but name for damn near a century. We don't use the word empire because it has negative connotations.

we haven't gained a state in fucking decades bro

By definition, they are.

Never said it was (directly) expansionist.

you have a point , america occupies Afghanistan which has 90% of the worlds poppy fields which is used to make heroin

funny how were all suffering from an influx of cheap and plentiful heroin all of a sudden

have you ever heard of fucking ATHENS

Because the citizens are tired of paying to make generals rich.

Pleb doesn't know what a client state is...

Britain and France were both republics at the height of their colonial empires.

we have, since basically the Jefferson administration.

Britain was not. It was only a republic for a very brief period before the British colonialism was even in full swing.

During the height of the British empire in the interwar period it was a monarchy, hence the named United Kingdom.

we stopped because wealth stopped being about directly controlling territory.

>invades a country
>rebuilds it with taxpayer money
wow what a smart empire america is

fine...a liberal democratic constitutional monarchy where most power was tied to an elected legislature and citizens had expansive civil rights.

you fucking autist.

brilliant actually. Japan and Germany have been wonderful client states.

Yeah, how?

they are nothing but a drain , were still paying for their military protection

Rulers wear the target

Leaders direct the rulers

It's far better to be kingmaker than King

Why would a Jewish mouthpiece want a race war?

Hillary is pretty imperialist.

Pretty sure OP meant traditional European imperialism and colonialism, not neo-liberal progressive femperialism.

America was founded by people who wanted to get away from empires, and thankfully nobody has forgotten that yet.

Depends what your business is

We're only six civvy away from Emperor Mattis.

>implying all political spinsters haven't become superb at manipulating the public feeling

It's been a century since le Bon. All you need to start toying with the feelings of millions is a couple of good books and the willingness to learn.

>President Mattis

I wish a nigga would...

America is just a declining hegemon that enjoys a big military thanks to the second world war. American society is too individualistic and money obsessed to form an empire like Rome. All it would take to destroy America is preventing their populace from access to burgers and pornography. I cringe every time Americans liken themselves to Rome.

Couple that with America fighting wars on behalf of Israel, a strategically useless country. Americans are just cucks.

I don’t know why… we really should stop being the world policeman and just take it for ourselves.

...

One of the basic tenets of contemporary economic knowledge is that trade between partners is much more lucrative for everyone than wasting copious amounts of resources on trying to take things from each other by force. The US understands (understood) this quite well, this is why they play the world police. You can't dominate an entire planet through military might without destroying it completely. However, by keeping it relatively peaceful and open, you create the ideal circumstances for domination through trade.

That is why the US isn't a proper imperial power. To stay wealthy and powerful.

Wow somebody that isn't a fucking retard on this board

Empire of Liberty ftw

>how
Are you mentally impaired? Did you ever notice that both Japan and Germany are US allies that have thousands of US troops and shitloads of equipment stationed inside their countries?

That's the way it works. They do some shit for the US (Trade deals, harboring troops to increase our power in the region, backing us up on the world stage, providing material support when we ask for it), and in return they get protection.

>INGODWETRUSTINGODWETRUSTINGODWETRUST

Yeah protection from the US

The best empires are those that don't even know that they are empires. Nobody is being conquered, we are just building relationships and defending allies.

But they already did at the turn of the last century.

The American public has generally been largely against imperialism (At least outside of their own continent), and the few times they tried (Philippines) it was a complete disaster.
