Was Lao Tzu the Chinese Jesus? His teachings are suspiciously similar.
He says:
>Thus, the Holy One says: He who is humiliated is the lord of the society; he who is sacrificed is the king of the world.
>What’s twisted shall be straightened; the wronged shall be rehabilitated
>Blind are those who think they can see; foolish are those who think they are wise. Those who boast have not achieved; those who brag cannot be leaders.
>Dwelling in loathsome places and so coming close to Tao. The sea gathers a hundred rivers because it lies low; Because of its low position it is the king over the hundred rivers. He who desires to rise above the people must first humble himself; He who desires to go before the people must first follow from behind. Thus when the Holy One rules above, people feelno burden; When he leads, people are not harmed. Therefore, the whole world gladly supports him and never tires of him. He does not contend; Therefore, no one in the world contends with him.
How can Jesus plagiarize the ideas of others if he was illiterate?
Andrew Perry
THEIR IDEOLOGIES ARE SIMILAR, BECAUSE THEY ARE BOTH TRUE.
Jason Lewis
thinking the travel of ideas and expressing them differently so a culture can understand is plagiarism
Josiah Gutierrez
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
Anthony Gutierrez
That is plagiarism.
Just because lifting philosophy off others was considered a compliment 2000 years ago, doesn't mean the ideas weren't lifted.
Landon Harris
I don't think the Romans had any contact with the Chinese did they? If they did it was almost certainly after Jesus time. Hard to plagiarize the Tao when it was completely unknown in that area of the world at the time. Rather, both Lao Tzu and Jesus were enlightened and received their enlightenment from the same source, which is why their teachings are virtually identical.
Anthony Brooks
you're literally retarded
Gabriel Powell
Romans and chinese know each other existence There were but minimal cultural exchanges, like almost nothing
fun fact: Chinese believed that Romans were lost chinese habitants and their culture were a result of they being apart from the kingdom
Isaiah Cruz
Confucius is more similar imo:
>What you do not want done to yourself, do not do to others. (Analects, Chapter XVː24)
his enphasis on humanity (ren) as the fundamental guiding principle of ethics is also very christlike.
Parker Hall
and people say taoism is mysical mumbo jumbo lmao
Luke Smith
>Confucius is more similar [TO JESUS THAN LAO TSE]...
NO; OBVIOUSLY YOU DO NOT COMPREHEND JESUS', LAO TSE'S, OR CONFUCIUS' IDEOLOGIES.
THE IDEOLOGIES, OF JESUS, AND LAO TSE, ARE MUTUALLY HOMOLOGOUS, DERIVING FROM THE SAME ETERNAL SOURCE, WHICH IS WHY THEY ARE MUTUALLY SIMILAR —THEY BOTH EMPHASIZE NOBILITY, AND EXCELLENCE.
THE IDEOLOGY OF CONFUCIUS IS BANAL AND UTILITARIAN, EMPHASIZING FORMALISM, AND EXPEDIENCY, AS ILLUSTRATED IN THE APHORISM THAT YOU QUOTED; THAT APHORISM REVEALS EXPEDIENT ATTITUDE, RATHER THAN ETHICOMORAL NOBILITY, IN THAT THE MOTIVE BEHIND TREATING OTHERS "NICELY" IS NOT LOVE, BUT COMFORT, AND A DESIRE TO AVOID BEING TREATED "BADLY".
Brayden Lewis
I'm getting really tired of your all caps gimmick. Type properly or get the fuck out nigger.
Adrian Baker
>post quote that is literally what jesus said but in the negative >NO ITS FUCKIGN DIFFERENT U DONT GET IT
>confucius is just formalism
sure, he has that element, but you havn't read him properly if you think that's all there is. the substantative, informal concept of humanity/humaneness (ren) is the absolute CORE of his philosophy. he never even defines it. this has nothing to do with utility or expedience. it is about authentic, empathetic, and compassionate relations with others.
>same eternal source
cool mystical bullshit
Adam Roberts
THAT POST JUST CONFIRMS THAT YOU ARE INCAPABLE OF COMPREHENDING AUTHENTIC PHILOSOPHY, AND THAT YOUR DISCERNMENT IS STUNTED.
buddha is better than jesus desu. jesus bore suffering, buddha overcame it and showed everyone how to do the same.

Thousands of candles can be lighted from a single candle, and the life of the candle will not be shortened. Happiness never decreases by being shared.

Ryder Stewart
No he is 100% correct despite being a cancerous capspamming tripfag spic.
I bet you are a libertarian or something and that's why you're too autistic to be able to tell the difference between THE definitive utilitarian maxim and actual religious morality.
Julian Parker
>more ad hominem >not an argument

>being this autistic >being this uneducated on the most basic premises of moral philosophy
Just keep embarrassing yourself
This isn't ad hom, it's truth.
