$3k is psychological resistance, I really don't think it applies to hundreds anymore.

well call it whatever you like, its also damn close to previous high 2920 and ath 2950 so people tend to take profits near those milestones as we see happening right now.

USD is almost irrelevant for Bitcoin.

the question is what happens once we break 3000$ ? It will happen sooner or later and assuming that hundreds are not a psychological block anymore what is gonna happen then surge to 3.5k ?

it's not though, we all here use USD as the objective measurement for how much BTC is valued so ofc it's relevant.

The "psychological barrier" is only in your head.
Most Bitcoin traders do not care about USD.

I trade in Euro yet I still use USD to measure how well it's doing since most people discuss the USD value when talking about BTC on the internet.

but projecting significance on round BTC/USD numbers is nonsense

I'm saying that supposed psychological barriers like $2900 or $3000 are unfounded projections without any effect on the price,
when 80% of the traders do not use USD.

I think once we spend a couple of months over $3k we will see a spike as FOMO kicks in and people start to think maybe $3k is the cheapest it's going to be from now on.

I don't care about USD price as I haven't made any fiat / crypto trades in a long time. The thing is people like me have no effect on it's USD price because we aren't trading on that market.
Those that are trading BTC / fiat on a regular basis care about the USD price and those are the people dealing with a psychological barrier.
It's the same reason many products are sold just shy of a round number eg. $1.95 or $19,980, it's human psychology that makes it seem like a better deal.
