They still send out the AVA tokens to everyone who did participate. After all it's a token they created from nothing. But by making everyone send to new ETH addresses, they can just take half the ETH for themselves, thereby also giving their project 50% less of a marketcap on release, making the tokens allocated to the founders probably worth more in the long term as it would be easier for them to increase in value with a smaller marketcap for the project.

The only way anyone would know they did this is by getting everyone who did participate together to add up the total ETH and see how it compares to what they've told us they got. Obviously this is never going to happen...

so the address was created with the sole purpose of receiving the exact amount you were supposed to send.
