The Russian Revolution for what it was, was actually quite "bloodless" in terms of violence, but that doesn't mean mass violence wasn't carried out, the Red Terror was a real thing and thousands were killed (on both sides)

Lenin though was nowhere near as bad as Stalin, Lenin didn't purge his own friends and 90% of the party, Lenin argued against ethnic cleansing, argued for the rights of states to succeed etc.
