VEGAN GENERAL

1. Eat Small, Frequent Meals
2. Eat Your Bodyweight In Grams Of Protein
3. Carbohydrates Are Crucial To Muscle Growth
4. Eat Enough Calories
5. Fat Should Comprise Roughly 30% Of Overall Calories

The positive to a Vegan diet is that the fats consumed are of the healthy kind; mainly Omega-5 from nuts.

Someone else posted the other half, but that giant block of sources is about half of what I have.

The other half compromises the damage being vegan does to children.

I had a nice long ride on the vegan train last year, and it was surprisingly not too difficult, getting back on at the start of the week. Could never find a decent cheese though. Daiya taste like shit and doesn't melt on anything and pretty difficult to find any explicitly vegan products in Alabama, even in a university town. Any recommendations for good cheese lads?

>2. Eat Your Bodyweight In Grams Of Protein
impossible. post exactly what you ate today in order to hit ~180g of protein as a vegan. I'm waiting.

The average american diet is an omnivorous diet. It's incredibly nutrient-poor yet calorie dense. It's as valid a representation of meat diets as any of these studies are of vegan diets.

All these "vegans don't get enough" nutrients and more are also lacking in most meat eaters' diets.

Literally any diet is better than the average American diet.

>Vegans have a worse memory compared to non vegans due to creatine deficiency in vegans:

That's not what your study says. Both groups performed the same at baseline but creatine supplementation worsened the memory of the omnis.

>after 4 d of consuming the creatine supplement, memory was better in vegetarians rather than in those who consumed meat (F(1, 118) ¼ 5·06; P,0·03). However, in those who were meat-eaters, the consumption of the creatine supplement was associated with poorer memory compared with baseline values

I agree SAD is shit but it is an omnivorous diet and obviously the most popular one in the US. If you want to play the game of "vegans don't get enough _____, says X study on 14 malnourished vegans in 1988" then you have to accept all the data about the shitty diets of malnourished non-vegans.

Veganism wouldn't need to exist if Americans didn't eat so much shit food

You do realize that just because someone's vegan, that doesn't mean they eat right, right?

they are deficient not because they are vegan but because they don't have a well planed diet just as the same is true of non vegans that don't have a balanced diet. you are silly

soybean protein isolate is the best way. the stuff about estrogen isn't true but it does increase igf-1 levels more than meat and dairy products which leads me to adopting a pea + rice protein powder blend. this is the best alternative if you are concerned with the previously mentioned drawback

previously mentioned drawback of soybean protein isolate*

I'm an omnivorous who eats meat with lots of vegetables, nuts and fruits so simply the solves the "problem" of my diet. Of course if you're an American who eats fried chicken with fries every day and your only contact with fruit is jelly of course you will be nutrient deficient.

okay retard, enjoy your cancer

Probably talking about 180 ameritard units. 4/10 made me chuckle mildly.

>cancer risk
Yes, eating processed meat has an increased cancer risk.

You know what else increases cancer? Sunlight. Sunblock. Depression. Using a car.

Basically living. Living gives you cancer lol.

OK then why didn't all the subjects in all the studies I posted do that then, if it is so easy?

2. This is literally taken from your second source
>So, case closed—don’t eat red meat? Sorry, nutritional science isn’t that simple.
Thanks for proving what we say.

3. Livestrong? As a source? No fuck off

1&4. We've been over this. Anything is better than the average American diet, so it's no surprise those studies had those results.

Then why didn't you post that originally? Vegans always being disingenuous.

Going vegan starting tomorrow morning

Even as a vegan I recognize that this is a ton of soy, just replace the soy milk for almond milk and this would be a lot more appealing.

Be a pale, sickly, nutritionally deprived weirdo following an unhealthy meme diet who doesn't get to live their life in a good manner because of said meme diet

Or

A healthy happy human that gets to live a long happy life.

Also Steve Jobs was a vegan and you know what happened to him. He got cancer and died.

>cherrypicking this hard
literally one paragraph under what you copied

"In the bigger picture, we do have pretty damning evidence about the harms of eating a particular type of meat. “Processed red meats—bacon, sausage, salami, deli meats—are associated with much higher risk of heart disease,” Dr. Mozaffarian says."

>3. Livestrong? As a source? No fuck off

here fucko, another of the many links found with a simple google search

ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/17288585

1&4. We've been over this. Anything is better than the average American diet, so it's no surprise those studies had those results.

>ignoring the facts

Nah i lied, since i still have 1kg whey but that one is the final animal product i need to eliminate

all of these studies contradict each other and none of them are conclusive the link you just provided states:

"Despite the growing body of data, effects of soy consumption on endogenous plasma hormones have been inconsistent, probably as a result of methodological differences in subject characteristics, study design and length, determination of menstrual cycle parameters, and isoflavone form and dose."

"Thus, soy consumption appears to exert modest hormonal effects in both pre- and postmenopausal women. The effects are generally in the direction of providing health benefits, although they are quite small and of uncertain clinical significance. Further research must be performed to clarify the magnitude and significance of the hormonal effects of soy consumption, and, if effects are seen, to establish whether the responsible components are the isoflavones or some other soy constituent."

youtube.com/watch?v=_Bi5wbzpOHQ

youtube.com/watch?v=XhkNU46_48M

you shouldn't be afraid of soy

>why didn't you spoonfeed me information like a little baby? damn vegans

veganism is good enough for these pale, sickly, nutritionally deprived weirdoes who could easily kick your ass

>vegans that don't have a balanced diet
So you mean all vegans then? If not that post a vegan daily eating plan that is nutritious and satisfys the rda's of all the vegan nutritional deficiencies I've posted.

The vegan diet is shit. Average American diet is shit. You're trying to say "look! My shit is less shit than this other shit! That's why everybody should eat my pile of shit". That is bullshit.

Yeah I was honestly waiting for one of you vegans to try to say that my sources are shit, just because they completely destroy your argument and prove that vegans are braindead morons does not mean that they are true.

I don't care how much you hate what the sources say and prove, they are still accurate.

diaz bros are not truly full vegan. they even said so their selves.

>people who eat meat unironically think they are somehow less nutrient deficient than anyone when the only vitamins contained in meat are b vitamins which are easily gotten from a bowl of cereal these days

hey, dietician here.

i'm not gonna go into the pros / cons of a vegan diet because that would take away from my main message which is this:

VEGANS CAN HAVE A COMPLETELY BALANCED DIET IF THEY ARE VERY CONCIOUS ABOUT WHAT THEY EAT, THEY CAN GET ENOUGH MACRO/MICRONUTRIENTS FROM THEIR COMPLETELY VEGAN DIET.

THIS HAS ONE EXCEPTION, THERE IS NO NATURAL SOURCE OF VITAMIN B12 IN NATURE EXCEPT FOR DAIRY AND MEAT SO YA'LL MOTHERFUCKERS BETTER SUPPLEMENT THAT UNLESS YOU WANT PERMANENT DAMAGE TO YOUR NERVOUS SYSTEM.

there are completely vegan supplements available where b12 is synthesized with bacteria. if you don't do this, prepare for permanent damage to your body.

and to avoid a common pitfall on this subject:
your body stores vit b12, enough for ~6 months on average. so if you were to start eating vegan and you didn't supplement vit b12, you'll be perfectly fine for an unspecified amount of time. then one day you might start to look a bit ill, feel a bit lightheaded, or will just feel lethargic in general and you might write it off to something else, as all of these symptoms are very common for lots of things. then, you might have a bit of a rough tongue, you might lose some weight and have diarrhea, and again, these are very common symptoms for all kinds of diseases. so then before you or maybe if you contacted a doctor, they can correctly diagnose your problem, your extremities feel a bit tingly or slightly numb. that means your CNS (central nervous system) is now permanently damaged.

also: even though it is possible to get enough polyunsatured fatty acids through some biochemical processes in your body if you eat just the right things, it is much easier and safer to supplement this as well.

in conclusion: whether you buy into all the pseudoscience or not, or whether you think one is scientifically proven to be better than the other doesn't matter to me as long as you supplement B12 (and probably essential fatty acids as well, just to make it easier for yourself)

>eating fish every now and then makes all of the difference

>this is what butthurt meat eaters believe when on full damage control

>People will always feel insecure about what other people eat or not eat. It's on them to lash out like children.

Funny that. As far as i can tell no-one cares about what others eat, except ppl. selling food and activists trying to push an agenda (e.g. vegans).

Stop eating so much soy and processed shit, you should eat more than 3 servings of soy per day without increasing your cancer risk

Yea I read through a lot of his studies and it's like he doesn't even read them and just makes up his own conclusions.

oh, one final thing:

there are no exceptions on the "there are no natural sources of vit b12 except for dairy and other animal based foodsources" rule.

there are however plenty of pseudoscience bullshit websites that advertise certain foods as being an exception. i've seen some real bullshit on these websites by now, and there are too many to name, so please, please PLEASE just take my word for it. and if you don't, do your own objective research on whatever miracle vegetable you've found.

also: yes i know i said dairy and meat in my earlier post, but i changed it to animal based foodsources because people on Veeky Forums get autistic on me for shit like this on a regular basis.

>caps
kys

Nobody made you come into this thread.

>there are however plenty of pseudoscience bullshit websites that advertise certain foods as being an exception

guess ncbi is a pseudoscience bullshit website now

ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4042564/

really makes you think

why are you using them as the epitome vegan role models then? nick talked about eating fuckin carna asada tacos just recently in a podcast.

eat a veggie soy horse dick, bro beans.

i didn't need them in particular to shit on your narrative of vegans being "pale, sickly, nutritionally deprived weirdoes"

here's another example of a vegan fighter who would wipe the floor with you

>ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4042564/

Have any of those source been shown to have activity in humans? As in they are able to lower homocysteine and/or MMA levels?

veganhealth.org/b12/plant

You'd be surprised. The vegan movement has got a massive opposive force. This thread alone should be a testament to that. I mean it's a thread about veganims, and yet omnivores feel the need to post and argue in it.

Groupmind works both ways, and the anonymous backlash against veganism on the internet makes me wonder why people get so up in arms about it.

There's incredible amounts of pseudoscience surrounding the topic, and whether it's been disproved or not, the arguments will be brought up every time someone mentions not eating whatever.

It just doesn't matter to anyone that's not a vegan, it doesn't affect them at all what other people do.

Now if people would care as much about denouncing islam or whatever, that'd actually be productive.

god fucking damnit, this is exactly the part of Veeky Forums that makes me want to kill myself.

ncbi is full of shitty studies. you are literally going with the "it's on the internet so it must be true" approach but for pseudointellectuals

on top of that, you are taking away from my message, which -even if you are right, which i won't debate because then this would spiral down into a shitty discussion on whether or not the study you posted is any good- is a valuable message for vegans

>Have any of those source been shown to have activity in humans? As in they are able to lower homocysteine and/or MMA levels?

no idea, i just know its literally as easy as eating a bowl of cereal for your b vitamin requirements and you can skip out on all of the adverse health effects of eating animal flesh but noooo tasty bacon mmmm burgers

there's something off about her, she cannot be that black and have a nose like this

doesn't look chimpansee enough
not being racist here just sayin whats up

that's a shop

or she got her nose done real thoroughly

>no idea
oh okay

>waah not even ncbi is credible enough for me

considering that the sources mentioned were even bioavailable to b12 deficient rats, i'm going to say its safe to assume that they are for humans too. you can dispute it and say its not good enough for you but you'll just look mad

ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/11430774

product of glorious race-mixing. I don't get why /pol/ is so upset, when people like her could be the outcome.

t. racemixer.

No she didn't. Black people can obviously have different shaped noses like white people can. Maybe she contours her nose to make her bridge look thinner, but that is her nose. She's fully African and I have met Africans with non-stereotypical features. I'm afro- Caribbean and my nose isn't "chimpish". Get out more user.

i am these posts:

i just want to prevent people getting hurt
