How much protein should I aim for a day Veeky Forums? I'm 5'10" 175lbs and I'm fairly new to lifting, some sites say 1 gram of protein per lb of bodyweight and some say that since I'm not an elite lifter that I only need 0.4 grams per lb of bodyweight
which is it?

You won't get a clear answer for several reasons.
>bioscience >protein fiends >conflicting research >people giving you values instead of ranges >general stupidity
Best advice I can give you is trying to aim for at least 0.5 g/lbs body weight and adjust from there. If you don't feel like you're getting stronger after a few weeks you can increase it.
There's nothing actually wrong with eating more though.

1 gram per lb is a meme and I ask to find my a peer reviewed study confirming it.
General scientific consensus is roughly 0.5 to 0.65.

1g of protein per pound of lean body mass at your goal weight, not current.
For most people this will be around .8g per pound of bodyweight.

Lean chicken comes close Whey definitely Tuna can do it, but don't eat too much other low fat fish without a lot of mercury

Jayden Morris
Try doing that as a poorfag and having to get that from pasta and peanut butter
