I was in bands from age 16-29 and I can tell you it really depends on the band/genre and how old you are.

If you want to get 16 year old girls, being in a band is great, if your music caters to them. You still need to be charismatic, a good performer, and confident to get a lot of girls. Having said that, I've seen plenty of band guys pull girls WAY out of their league.

As you get older, girls care less about the 'band' thing especially if you aren't successful. You'll get more interest from 40+ year old women if you are just a weekend warrior bar band. You might get some cuter burlesque dancer/tattoo type girls that like 'bad boys'.

Being ripped and being in a band will get you the most pussy, but not huge. Most girls that go for band guys don't like jock types and don't like bodybuilder type physiques. They prefer otter mode.

It certainly helps. Everyone I mentioned above has a nice face. The main thing about being in a band is that when you play a show and a girl approaches you it's one of the only situations as a guy that you are above the females. When girls see that there are a dozen other girls trying to talk to you, it certainly raises your demand by a lot. Girls also assume band guys just want to hook up, which can be a good or bad thing.

Back when I had a record deal girls actively wanted to be groupies for my band, knowing we had girlfriends. Before the record deal girls would hook up and be nice to our girlfriends faces, but wouldn't ever consider themselves 'groupies' even though they pretty much were.
