Weightlifters reinforce clean positioning by doing CLEAN deadlifts not regular deadlifts

They are 90% congruent positions you autist. There's going to be significant carry over, especially for beginner and intermediate lifters.

I wouldn't say that a power clean is a great variation to improve deadlift, but it's an excellent movement to train general athleticism and tightness.

You have no business giving advice on anything. You are an Olympic lifting elitist, but I can outlift your clean and jerk with zero practice. That's embarrassing.

sidenote ive always been extremely good at dips, i could do weighted +60kg for 3 reps at 90kg bw with shoulderripping ROM. After i started benching 3 times a week i dropped them because my cuffs were getting fked, benching made me stiff.

Weigh the pros and cons. I snapped my shit up and now I can't even do pushups, let alone dips, without intense sharp pain. But bench I can do pain free for some reason. Probably has sth to do with arching and retracting the scapula.

Anyway if you can do them pain free go ahead but don't be too stubborn, if it starts feeling wrong for no reason just stop.

Well a GDE like mark rippletits pulled 633 @ 220 using said methodology and even Simmons mentions that splitting the movement and not training it was something he learned from Bill Starr.

It's worth a try worst case scenario you learn something new and your deadlift stalls for a month best case your DL goes up and you get to do a fun lift.

dips are on the difficult side to program because of the stress they put on the long head of your tricep and the susceptibility of that muscle.
If you feel like your elbows and tris are stronk, you can push high rpe 5-8 rep sets

The rules for, say, squats allow them to do that without arbitrarily restricting a full grown adult's ability to do the same. The bench press grip width rules are analogous to have a maximum squat stance width in inches between one's heels that would force guys like Ray Williams to squat in a Deadlift stance.

Note that that is a capital D Deadlift, not silly bullshit sumo stance weighted standing pelvic thrust.

If I'm doing 170kg for 5x5 what would be an appropriate number for me to do on High bar? Last time I did it was 160 for 1x5 .
Also how long does it take for your traps to get used to the bar it feels like i'm being crushed today and that was with just 170 walk outs.

Major things first.
You need to lock in your lats (while holding bar twist so that your elbows face outwards) and take slack off the bar (bar is used as a counterweight to keep you in tight extenstion, see Mike Tuscher for a good deadlift form https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dz_H6iFaE58).
Other thing is learn how to feel your back https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aXfOdvd-sJ0 do the exercise in min 8 10-20 times per day till you can control the muscles like nothing.

Last thing change to flat shoes and I hope you're bulking.

You should be able to tell yourself that your back is rounding, which you should also realize you don't want. First thing that moves is your hips shooting straight up, meaning you're not in position.

Did you just look at the movement and go "yep just pick it up yep yep sure can do"? Despite the various opinions of it I think Rippetoe's deadlift setup is the best when it comes to simplicity and effectiveness.

bar over mid foot, bend over at the waist to grab the bar, lower your shins to the bar, squeeze chest up, and stand up.

Oh, and bar does not move forward or back after you position yourself with bar over mid foot(whole foot, meaning it's decently close to your shin already). So when you lower your shins to the bar you should care not to push the bar forward, and when you squeeze your chest up also care to not shift your weight and roll the bar.

106kg fatass here with lowish-intermediate lifts that have been progressively gaining/ slipping away after a series of pretty severe injuries -
100% recovered now though (Current: 85kg OHP, 105kg bench, 145kg ATG squat, and 180kg diddy - previous: same OHP, 115kg x 3 bench, 140kg x 3 squat, 200kg deadlift)

I've stalled out on absolutely everything and would like a recommendation for switching my routine up (was doing 5/3/1, but ended up only going twice a week because I get so damn sore and barely maintain my gains). I also think my bench press form is shit, but can't figure it out to push harder, I feel so weak from the chest. My leg strength ain't improving either. I'd go low bar, but I already know my quads are my weak point and don't want to risk relearning my squat form on my own, since I'm so hamstring dominant. I supplement back squats with front squats on OHP and bench days.

I was thinking of doing canditos linear strength program or jumping on SS and trying to increase how often I go. Is this the right way to try jumpstart my strength training again?

6'1", dislocated shoulder with minor rotator cuff tearing, then a slipped disc + spinal joint damage. Took a year and a half to recover from that, only just gone good.

Like the other guy said, 400 wilks is not peak strength and can be achieved by anyone, just not by anyone in 3 years if he doesn't have the knowledge to do things right or doesn't have good genetics.

Also, the peak for many people around the 83 kg should be lower than 500, considering than the IPF total world record by Brett Gibbs is only 543,91 and he is not only genetically gifted for powerlifting, but he also has all the time and resources to train like he wants at a high level.

A lifter that is not genetically gifted and can't have peak conditions because of other life stuff won't probably get to 500 wilks in the 83 kg category no matter how much he trains.

3 years to 400 won't be achieved by the majority, but it's not only life, 83-93 kg can't get there without being extremely gifted genetically and with almost optimal training.

USPA's classification (I took this one as an example because it's the first one I found, but I doubt most feds have a classification much higher or lower) has the "master" level for the 181 lbs category (roughly 82 kg) at 1355 lbs (615 kg) which are 413 wilks and the class I at 1215 lbs (551 kg) which are 370 wilks, this classifications are referred in other pages as master having more that 6 years of serious powerlifting training and class I more than 4, but you say you should be almost at master level in less than 3 years training, for almost anyone if life doesn't get in the way.

That seem unbelievable to me when what the guys at the federation, with probably more experience than you, say is that it take it more time to most people.
