What's your personal favourite alignment to play? You know, the one you default to if possible.

I really enjoy Lawful Neutral when I can play it. There's something pure about the rigid enforcement of the law above all else, in all cases, with no exceptions.

I like Lawful Evil and Neutral Evil. You play it like you would a normal person, but nobody can tell you you're out of alignment for killing defeated enemies, etc. The most pragmatic choice is the 'correct' one for LE and NE.

Lawful Evil

I like either Lawful or Chaotic Good. I prefer to play good characters, but it generally depends on the type of game and/or character.

True Neutral
It's fun to be the voice of reason in a group

Chaotic good.

You can do pretty much anything you want so you never have to give a fuck about shitty alignment mechanics.

This

same

LE/N>LN>LG/CE>NE>CN>NG>CG

>CG and NG on the bottom
>Not CN
Pleb

True neutral. Not having a personal axe to grind makes small victories more meaningful.

either LE or CG because you can do what you like. For bother you can either do the wrong thing for the right reason or the right thing for the wrong reason, both play styles speak to me as a character maker and player

Whatever alignment best fits the type of character I have in mind.

In all seriousness, CG and LE are probably my favorites, with honorable mentions to LN and NE. CE and LG can be fun, but only in the right kind of game. It's hard to emulate properly when you're stuck in a group full of opposing alignments like the edgy idiots in my group anytime I want to be the paladin. TN is fucking boring.

One day I'll play that heroic, gallant knight... one day...

Pic mildly related

Neutral Evil, so you can do something that's somewhat good but it's all for yourself in the end.

Chaotic Neutral, not as a lolrandom fishmalk but as a free spirit who isn't particularly good or evil.

Lawful Neutral and Lawful Evil. I like to play characters who have a personal code. Whereas with Lawful Good characters, I feel like "good" is the code in question and I have less choice in what matters to the character.
In the case of LE, evil can just be a means to an end, not the end in itself.
That said, I have played characters of all alignments. I like variety.

Lawful Evil.

Chaotic Good is the best alignment by far.Nothing tops it.

Neutral good or lawful good. I love playing small sparks of genuine goodness in crap sack worlds like shadowrun.

My most interesting PC was a Lawful Evil. She had a "whats mine is mine" attitude that extended to the party, specifically to her paramour. In retrospect she was a jealous lover with her grandfather's axe.

But I normally wind up playing Lawful good or Neutral good.

>Manx

Rumpy or stumpy?

Chaotic Neutral, not because I like being a wildcard, but because I love playing selfish pricks.

So let me explain: A group of adventurers doesn't even need to consist of people who like eachother. My usual group has shown me that. So instead of wasting my time trying to be on good terms with everyone, playing the straight man to people who will abuse any lawfully or good aligned character for their own retarded amusement, I play a selfish prick who's in the party for his own, personal gain. Now if somebody in the party actually reaches out, then I am not predetermined to not reply in kind and establish a connection. A friend in need is a beneficial ally, after all. So I still have the option to be buddies.

In the same manner, I have absolutely no obligation to find deeper justification to kill off another player's character if that character is nothing but a burden and a hassle or even a threat to my goals.

So far I haven't actually have need to actually murder another character, because group intervention and players holding back just that last straw has kept me from what I realise may very well be a That Guy behaviour, however I believe in consequence and it should be as thorough as possible.

Lawful Good.

Neutral good.
Because I enjoy the usually enjoy the NG characters, the alignment allows me to take more plot hooks than lawful and chaotic characters, and I can also ignore most if not all of the alignment nonsense that can come up just by playing an empathetic reasonable character.

>Lawful Neutral is related to flawed governments that make petty and disruptive laws.
So, if we're going with the LN = Judge Dredd dank meme...
I would have to say Chaotic Evil.
Nothing quite like being the only honest and sane person in a world filled with arbitrary systems designed to punish the strong and reward the lazy and worthless.

I like LG in D&D and PF. Because I'm nowhere near that IRL and its fun to pretend.

I like palladium alignments the best though. Scrupulous is the best alignment to me.

Chaotic Evil is the best alignment and the only alignment that can protect your waifu's smile.

It depends on the setting. No, really.

In fantasy, I tend to prefer Lawful Good. Those settings usually leave room for a more pleasing sort of black and white morality, with just enough grey that it's not boring. In fantasy, I get to try and shape myself and reality as I wish it would be.

In a more modern setting, I tend to prefer neutrality, because that allows me to reach the most options, keeps me from getting tangled in anything too idealistic or too gritty and dark, and ultimately is the most pragmatic in a tough situation.

Most fun I ever had was lawful evil, but that was a one-off campaign of only a few sessions.

Usually I'll play either chaotic good or neutral good. Gives me plenty of room to take whatever adventure hook is out there and run with it.

Chaotic Good, being a fanboy of The Witcher book saga I love how Geralt reacts to his own life and the world around him.
And yes he costantly swings from CG to CN, i know but I do prefer when he genuinely gets raging if he sees evil doing on innocents.
Also that is how feel irl, wanting to believe in good but knowing that society is fucked.

Usually LE or CN. Never played LG or NG.

LE, NE, TN. Because I don't really care about being 'good', I care about reaching your goals using various degrees of shadiness and/or moral corruption.

CN, because I'm an asshole
LN is a close second

NG because I like playing heroes

I prefer to play true neutral, because I like to play characters who don't break the law just because it benefits them, but if the payoff is huge or circumstances force them too, they will.
Also, it makes more sense to me to have a character that will do good as long as it isn't too dangerous and won't do anything truly evil, but will do some shady things for the good of his family/friends.

almost an entire liter of cat!

Chaotic Neutral.

>In the same manner, I have absolutely no obligation to find deeper justification to kill off another player's character if that character is nothing but a burden and a hassle or even a threat to my goals.
You're flat out saturday morning cartoon evil.

That's a two-syllable word for ideas too big for little minds.

post your mensa card i want to jizz on it

Holy fuck I was just meming back at you because you memed at me, but now you sound serious

CG

LE, LG or CE.

One alignment I used to like but don't like as much now is CG. Too many people I know pick CG just so other players will perceive their characters positively while giving them an excuse to be dicks without raising any eyebrows.

New players seem to intuitively believe that playing a Chaotic aligned character means the removal of consequences for law-breaking. Oh how they whine when they get caught.

What's the difference between NE and CE? They both seem to be
>do whatever you want regardless of who gets hurt

NE is asshole.
CE is psychopath.
