I really want to use the ruler "Girl in Twilight Garb"; is there a deck that fits with her in it well?

Dark Alice likes killing. Play a lot of CIP murder(Dark faria w/ awakening, Lucy, etc) Along with Elizabeth, shadow princess and Jeanne Darc, shadow. Jeanne taps down stuff whenever opponent's resonators die, and Liz untaps and buffs until EoT everytime enemy resonators bite it. Schrodinger is a 2of at most. Your CIP with dalice can potentially end the game by tapping down everything that she doesn't kill if you have jeanne, High speed escape(not black) and imperishable are both methods to keep getting your ruler CIP, Wind Secluded refuge if you plan to bash repeatedly with Dalice for game(requires green). Shadow memoria is great. That should be all the obvious stuff.
If you see necromancy of undead lord in grave, feel free to snipe that with your ruler ability. It'll save you strife later.

Machines have been good since TMS but nobody noticed until BFA. Now they're VERY good. Especially with R/R out of the picture, I'd say Machina 1.0 is one of the best rulers in the game.

Machina gets fucked hard to faster aggro. Which I'm 100% ok with as I run said faster aggro.

It's faster for one. You have a seperate deck for lands, and because the decks are smaller it feels for consistent.

As someone who has played both for a long time I prefer FoW for the above reasons.

You can attack the opponent's cards directly, meaning the game isn't competitive solitaire unless both players want it to be.

So how feasible would a shadow doppleganger deck be? Pretty much just running soulhunts and other control cards, then using shadow doppleganger to play a huge late game resonator on turn 4?

What are you talking about? FoW has summoning sickness. That's what Swiftness is for.

I can see Shadow Doppelganger being really good now with big powerhouse fatties like Azathtoth and Ox King coming out. Remote Control Golem is always fun too. Especially with Book of Eibon out of the picture now, I think Doppelganger is now the cheapest option for graveyard shenanigans.

The biggest differences are stones, rulers, and combat.

Magic Stones (Lands) are in their own deck so you can never get manascrewed unless you're running a deck that's an ungodly number of colors or a deck that relies on Ruler aggro and you're terrible at management.

Rulers are a huge core mechanic. They work like MTG Commanders, but honestly more like Hearthstone Heroes. They sit in the Ruler area as a Ruler, and most have a number of abilities to change the flow of the game or help your deck out. The can also do "Judgement" wherein they flip over to their J-ruler side and enter the field with stats and a new set of abilities. Some Rulers are more passive or aggressive, and some have gimmicks that you would build a deck around. The Ruler adds a lot of variety to deck building.

Lastly, creatures in FoW attack one at a time, with breaks for playing more spells and creatures in between, and you can also attack rested (tapped) creatures. So combat is a lot more thought out, controlled, and strategic than it is in MtG.

Another thing worth noting that people don't often talk about, is that nearly every single card in FoW is "good". There are very few cards that serve no purpose other than filling pack space, and a vanilla card with no ability or gimmick or role to provide is very uncommon. This makes buying boosters much more fun and fulfilling. FoW doesn't have nearly as much value as MTG so if you're just looking to make a deck and don't want to buy a box, singles are still a better idea, but as somebody who thinks opening boxes is fun in itself, I find it much more rewarding in FoW than MTG's bloated setlists.

All this stuff makes me really excited to get the new starter decks and start playing. My gf stopped playing because our playgroup and lgs was too aggressive for her. I'm hoping that learning a new game together will be a good experience for us.

Hey dude want to have a good starter experience? Buy the green deck. The elves one. It has a playset of the biggest green staple, you'll play that card in every single green deck.

That's what I was planning on. It seems to play out like a traditional elfball style deck, which I'm totally comfortable playing. I's there anywhere I can view the full deck lists? I don't want to waste time digging around if I don't have to.

I've been debating about getting into this game however the card design is really putting me off with how they organize information (text boxes, attack/defense). The new designs in the upcoming release seem to be better but still on the fence about it.

Which cards are good for a bunny deck? I mean, Ruler Kaguya doesn't sound bad but I don't know. 4 BFA Kaguya and 4 of each bunny I think.

Probably would want Gwiber, possibly mana dorks and/or Apollo to ramp into Kaguya's awakening cost (BFA Kaguya's first ability was errata'd to be Moon and 1 Void awakening).

I've been looking back through the spoilers again, and I remembered this card. I feel like it could be really good but I can't think of anything amazing off the top of my head. What are some uses this could serve?

Yeah, that's all that's really jumping out at me. Could support a black burn/control Machina while he sets up, but Green probably still outclasses it by a great deal. Could be fun for a little variety though.

Since Shion's judgement costs 1 blue and 2 void, it could actually do some nice things for her, making adding Gwiber onto the Seraph combo more viable or doable early in the game. But I'm not sure how that affects the deck overall.

Might do something for Alice Fairies, I dunno.

I have a soft spot for evil manipulative bitches. I dunno why, but selfish heartless women are always appealing to me. Not even in a fetishy way or anything.

It helps that her starter deck was my intro to the game, and Val 1.0 is still one of my favorite Rulers to play. I liked her card in SKL, but then her stomping ass and cheating her way through the rest of Alice Cluster lore sold me on her.

I'll be extremely pleased if she ends up worming her way into being a major threat in the Lapis Cluster.

So Nyarlathotep is essentially just a rehash of the old CMF Little Red, but with way better stats and not having to depend on Moons. I can totally get behind this.

Shub Niggurath is back too, along with her goats. Except this time they aren't held back by the [Enter] keyword, and Niggurath herself is much much stronger.

Gentle Goat is also pretty good on its own. They'll make great fodder for Shub Niggurath, especially with Library giving them swiftness. And since Niggurath's banishing ability is an instant, you can play a goat, attack and bait out a blocker, then chase the block with banishing the goat to feed Niggurath. Or, if they don't block, you can hit confirm then sac the goat after. I like this deck a lot already.

Now this shit right here makes those Goat mindgames REALLY scary. This and Niggurath let you fuck around with your opponent so hard.

In fact aside from Nightmares and Lightning it all seems super meh. R'lyeh will be ok if Cthulu tribal doesn't suck, but that remains to be seen.

Run it as you're revealed resonator with Shion. Deck is fantastic, turn 4, maybe 3 you flip your ruler and get a fatty.

Probably a lazy fuck who rather than just keeping the win+space macro to swap between EN and JP keyboards on windows, just swaps to half width characters.

As someone else said, gwibs is great. Splashing blue with the new bunny will be nice, and add more adombrali variations while filling grave for rabbit trap. Dont forget a couple horns to refill the deck after one or two kags. And personally, I run life profiteering priest for shits and giggles(1k life off an awoken kags) and for the hilarious play with memoria faria(whos my sideboard ruler). And since kags is the best ruler for it, adding some counters is always useful. I tend to do 2 walls, 4 seals in some combination between main and side. Walls are nice to see early, but after turn 4 theyre dead draws.

Does jack shit for Alice Fairies. Order of importance color wise is W, U, G, R, B in that order, with R and B a distant 4th and 5th. Red only helps because flame sprite is too good not to run. With the new all res gain swiftness addition it moves up a little. White is your base. Circle of trust is hands down the best card for fairies to ever be printed. Viv is a close second. And moonbreeze fairy is very much up there. Blue is second because card draw with water sprite, envoy being an annoying little bitch, and titania being stupid fun. Plus blue opens up the sideboard for down the drain, and my favorite spicy tech, prison in the lunar lake. Green is only comprable with W and U because escort exists. Wind sprite is nice for ramp, but really only useful to me if you need to outspeed someone, which mainly comes down to when you play machina and they get a god hand. Fuck triple dork turn 2.
