>This is a ROMANTIC Comedy, after all
Of course they actually love you user!

>Bag of cookies
You could fit it in an average human hand

>Canon Companion/Haruno Yukinoshita
It's difficult to explain, I just love her. I like adding personal touches to my Jump(s in future) it seems.

>Dead Fish Eyes
The main character's considered decently handsome besides his dead looking, fish like eyes. This perk makes it a little more literal.

>Groundhog Year
In case you were planning something untoward to other characters, you might face repercussions. Spending ten years in high school seems hellish enough.

Better.

Can someone tell em what jumps give me the ability to kill gods ?

I remember your shame.

Wait, what?

So getting cybereyes in any jump just stops your Quirk from working entirely forever, even if the cybernetics are effectively a natural part of your body (like the post-jump Shadowrun or Metal Gear Rising stuff)?

Hell, what if you're actually a robot?

Would be nice if there were a few more drawbacks. Only having two for each tier is a bit sparse in my opinion.

Also, for Groundhog Year... is that ten years, each repeated once for a subjective total of 20 years, or your first year repeated ten times? It reads somewhat like the first, but the second is closer to Groundhog Day.

Oh my.

Wasn't someone working on an Alchemicals jump? I might be remembering that wrong on the day everyone was talking about it and someone might have just expressed interest.

Star Trek: TNG+DS9 and 80s action movie come to mind.

It's meant to be the latter, I'll reword it a bit. I'll add another drawback for each tier too

Is there a line, or should I just take a number?

You know Quirks are generally biological powers right? Do you think a Sharingan is still going to work if you don't have a chakra system? Why would this perk that relies on having actual eyeballs like a living being work if you no longer have them?

Please don't add personal touches that include jacking up prices for reasons you can't explain. If you can't tell us why, please lower her cost.

>Of course they actually love you user!
Well, yeah, that seems to be the point of the perk. I'm just wondering if it'll also cause tsundere behavior.

>It's difficult to explain, I just love her. I like adding personal touches to my Jump(s in future) it seems.
Alright... Seems weird to me, making it more expensive to take along a character you love. But sure.

>In case you were planning something untoward to other characters, you might face repercussions. Spending ten years in high school seems hellish enough.
Ah, alright then. Seems fun to me, actually.

Mir is doing Alchemicals.

You'd still have eyeballs like a living being, they'd just be metal and provided by a perk. Hell, with the mentioned jumps they're even specifically mentioned to work like natural parts of your body.

So yeah, I'd expect a sharingan and this quirk to still work, since those are also provided by perks.

Unfortunately for you user, all the numbers are already taken. Apparently an army of bees came in and took them all.

>Mir is doing Alchemicals.

Thanks for saying.

You've got a weird idea of how this stuff works.

Quirks are biological powers, and some are linked to specific body parts. If you no longer have the body part associated with a specific Quirk you can't really use it. It's not like they're rooted in magic or soul powers or something, they're basically all the result of the next step in human evolution.

If you're a robot you wouldn't even have an organic body to host a Quirk anymore and even the powers that aren't centered around a body part would probably be MIA.

Huh, what a strange freak occurrence that happened completely at random.

It's the only conclusion that makes sense to me. Otherwise cybernetics would be utter traps wherever they're offered, simply because they'd be incompatible with a shitton of other stuff.

Well, that sucks hard.

Guess that means I suddenly have 800 extra cp, since my technorganic body doesn't qualify for the Quirk I got before, and I might as well grab the Quirkless drawback then.

Most perks continue to work in all alt forms, powered by fiat. Do you think that super strength from spider man would cut out in a robot alt form because a radioactive spider bite can't have effected their non-existent muscles?

It's also incredibly unlikely for a jumper to maintain a biological form for their entire chain. What happens when you take Wave Form Anatomy and your body is replaced by your soul, or the full body cyborg perk from Asura's Wrath or the perk from Fate/Stay Night that makes you a colony of worms? It seems like all Quirks are on a timer and you're eventually going to lose access to all of them permanently.

Wave Form Anatomy is a trap.

>incompatible
Yeah. That's kinda the thing.

If you're partly organic, why not just make your eyes partly organic too and solve the issue?

Just grab Amazo backup, and shove the quirk in it.

>Fiat
This is the best answer. Logically, losing the relevant biological components for powers to work (Muscles for strength etc) would mean losing the associated powers as well, but that's only if you're thinking this through. Jumpchain being what it is it's only subject to whatever you want it to be, logic and anatomy can take a hike..

Uh, yeah, that's exactly how it's always worked. Most people tend to avoid cybernetics and junk for a reason, or focus it all on a specific alt-form. Sorry to hear dude. Before you get your hopes up though, what's the situation with this guy's question? How exactly does your body work?

Yeah, pretty much. If you don't have the foundation for something I don't understand why you think that would work. If you don't have blood, you can't spray blood from wounds when you're cut like if you have Bloodborne or Black Blood based stuff going on. If you're nothing but a soul you don't really benefit from gourmet cells.

Lots of perks work on fiat, but if it has an explicit mechanic in place for how it works I don't expect it to work when you fly in the face of it. That's dumb.

>or focus it all on a specific alt-form
Sounds like a mechanical fanwank on your part.

Taking criticisms in mind (and to heart), I've got a new draft for you /jc/. Changed the font too.

But we aren't talking about lacking the required body parts. user has eyes, just not biological eyes. Obviously if he were a robot without eyes, an eye based quirk isn't usable. But if he can't use robot eyes, can he use dragon eyes? If he can only use the perk by benefiting from human evolution, then how can it apply its benefit to dragon eyes, which evolved entirely independently. By the same logic, how could he use it with elf eyes? Or even eyes that have a different mutation bought from another jump?

Most jump makers allow their perks to apply via fiat, because if they didn't it would make all alt forms utterly useless. What alt form could ever be worth giving up a huge chunk of your perks for?

I don't have Erasure quirk, Manyfist was the one asking about that.

Anyway...

My eyes are partially organic, and partially cybernetic, and partially made from primal chaos. They don't actually have any squishy parts, just being made of metal and organic, but behaving like organic stuff.

As for my own quirks... if simple cybereyes that are actually mentioned as functioning like natural body parts don't work with Quirks, then why would it work with my body? It's literally the exact same thing.

Well... I had a Blood Manipulation and Synesthesia Quirk Marriage, with an Empowered Quirk purchase.

But apparently my sensory organs don't work with it, since they're metal despite also being organic, and my blood doesn't work with it because it's a mix of lava, magic acid/poison, gatorade, and nanomachines.

Also, I've never heard of anyone avoiding cybernetics or focussing it on a specific alt-form.

Any way to bring the person in the Married Ending drawback with us?

...user, are you serious right now? They work on any biological eyes because quirks are biological and this particular quirk is definitely biological. There's no reason for them to not work on any of your other examples because they still have the meat there to work with. A robot doesn't.

>just being made of metal and organic, but behaving like organic stuff.
*made of magic and light

Fuck.

So if you have a fiat effect saying they behave organically...what's your issue here? NuBee never said it overrode your shadowrun specific allowances. He just said it wouldn't work with robot eyes. Can you make any leaps of logic on your own or do you need hand holding?

Cracker Jack: No rush, but will the scenarios be released sometime this week? Just wondering because once they're out the build'll be finalised enough for me to start writing more about it since by then I'll be comfortable with selecting new companions.

So you bought a power that is just about blood. Actual blood, not just anything like blood. And then you're upset when it doesn't work on things that aren't blood but are instead magical/tech shit in your veins.

You're pretty entitled huh?

Okay, thanks. You might want to clarify or add in a note at the bottom though as it's unclear.

NuBee said they work based on the "result of the next step in human evolution." Dragon eyes are not human eyes. If there is no fiat effect allowing the eyes to adapt to different alt forms, what reason is there to expect they would continue to work as a dragon?

Yes Mum...

Just being a pedant until you get your way eh?

Actually hang on-just curious, how does One For All work if Quirks are biological? I remember the scenario said something about it being transmissable, does the guy tear out his heart and you have to eat it or something?

Percy Jackson has God Slayer, Valkyrie Profile has Angel Slayer and I recall Fairy Tail has a form of magic that does that. The big ball of energy kind, i think.

I think of it as more of an opportunity.

Hey, I recognise that style of photo from the other thread!

Is there a site out there that has more of these things?

I just have to ask why do so many people choose Sorcerer?

Took a while, but apart from possibly some details I feel like I'm pretty much done with the Arcanum jump.
Take a look and let me know if anything needs changing or if there's stuff people want to get from Arcanum that I somehow forgot to add.

Left the Milky Way

Probably because it's a Marvel Magic jump, and people like actually using the magic?

I went Warrior myself, but only for the Worthy Weapon.

Regenerative Shell needs to be limited to once per jump while in the chain. That or remove the bit that it forms when you would be killed and make it so that it's not an automatic thing, so you can still be killed if you don't have enough time to activate this.

I can't speak for anyone else, but in my case-as a deity of magic it made sense for me to be an unofficial third member of the Vishanti. See, Oshtur is Agamotto's mom. I was Loki's kid way back in Viking Saga, and Marvel!Asgard has gone through a lot of kalpas (cycles of creation and destruction) in which it's changed a lot, so concievably Asgard Prime could've been nearly identical to the mythic Asgard.

And given one of my domains is Magic/Stories, I ran with the idea of being this world's Loki's "child" metaphysically because he features in my narrative, but brought into being by Oshtur. Hence, a sorcerer.

I played Arcanum ages ago, so the details are a bit fuzzy.
That aside, this definitely captures the feel of the setting... I really like it

Now you're just being pedantic. Jumper bodies have always been genetic cocktails that continue to work for reasons so it doesn't matter what weird ass biology you get through perks, as long as you're organic, you're fine. Inorganic pcrosthetics and robot parts just don't suddenly get the benefits of flesh and blood because a perk says your flesh and blood is awesome.

As long as it has an organic basis, it doesn't really matter what they're made of. Lots of animals have body parts made of metals among other materials you wouldn't expect. You're fine.

*unofficial 4th member

What does the Vendigroth Device actually look like? How big is it?

That's actually by design; the shell works as an unlimited one-up unless your foes are strong enough to break it. It's better in that it can be used as often as you 'die', but it's also a lot weaker in that anything you *really* need it for will probably be able to murder you while you regenerate.

It's about the size of a basketball, but it folds out into some bizarre wiry net when activated.

....yeah, I really don't think that's a good idea. It assumes your foes are going to be able to break it and frankly, the way you described it, they're going to need a huge amount more power to kill you after it comes up. It doesn't feel like it's a lot weaker at all and it feels more like the 'flaw' will only apply if you die to something not using it's full power. Which is unlikely to be all that common, at least compared to the benefits of unlimited one ups.

So again, I'd repeat my suggestions unless you can clarify how much more power they need to kill you.

And I also missed that the recovery time gets faster as you get more magical, which just makes it worse, since eventually it'd be extremely short times that would just make you unkillable.

Yeah, I really think this needs the usual limit user.

Eh. The Items are all over the map. Arcanists and Inventors clearly have better ones that Veteran and Specialist. Drop-in isn't too bad. You need to work on your formatting though. Everything just bleeds together without indentation.

I can't decide if I like the perks or not. Most of them capture the feel of the setting, but the 800CP ones are mostly ultra-bullshit. I know they cost a lot, but Regenerative Shell basically makes you immortal and Flawless is conceptual-grade perfect fighting technique. Magitek Adaptation is all right, because you still have to train to get up to breaking all known laws of magic and science over your knee. Also, Stat Allocation and Blessing of the All-Father both feel a little forced.

I mean, it's clear you like the setting, but it also has a feeling of a bit of a power grab.

Have you ever done the whole 'I am God' thing before Jumpers? Maybe turned yourself bigger then the planet and showing them your superiority?

user, the minimum damage you gave for breaking the shell at all was a device that bypassed durability and instantly killed someone forever on a conceptual level. There's very little that's going to match to that in most jumps, meaning this perk is actual infinite lives in most settings, even really bullshit ones.

>Is there a site out there that has more of these things?

pinetrist

Eh, I can always nerf Regenerative Shell. I'm more trying to catch the feel of that ability.

Dude even in this setting there's only one thing that can kill you.

I think you should. Beyond just adding the once a jump limit to it, that perk seems to remove all threat from this jump. Nothing but one device can kill you and even if you're in the shell by the end of the jump, you don't get penalised.

Not to that scale, but I turned into a mountain sized Shoggoth in aSoIaF and ate the Iron Born. Just as Theon was about to come into port.

Yeah, I think that, Stat Allocation and Flawless are the ones that stand out most.

To be fair, All-Father is trying to emulate something considered a big deal in-game

arcanum.wikia.com/wiki/Ancient_Gods, see Velorian

Cool! Thanks for doing this. I like the Magitek Adaptation perk too.

>Actually hang on-just curious, how does One For All work if Quirks are biological? I remember the scenario said something about it being transmissable, does the guy tear out his heart and you have to eat it or something?

Pic related. AfO is two quirks put into one, one quirk allows itself to be pass down if the user is willing to pass it down loading a piece of your DNA with it. It supposedly alters the body structure of the receiver.

I snapped some pictures off Youtube for you, user.

It's basically the size of a large tire, looks like a big metal donut that's flat on one side. It unfolds and releases this huge web of lines that jab into the target and kill it.

What jump is that from? I'm looking for it right now and I haven't found it yet. I was looking to a DC jump eventually anyway.

I'm pretty shinny myself.

I always subscribe to the idea of "If you have to tell people you are, then you aren't."

Young justice and it is dc

Cool and thanks

I knew it was DC since Amazo was a character I saw once in Justice League or something a long time ago. I want to do a DC jump, but I'm looking for one I like best. As much as I like Batman, my writefaggotry and choice of jumps so far in this chain make the Batman rogues gallery credibly challenging me unlikely.

Maybe in a different chain.

Some will not believe you unless you show them.

So finally starting this after a shitty week, so question for the Tau best faction jump. Should I put the RP army section behind a scenario like Sisters of Battle? And if yes what idea should I use for it?

Stop reading my notes for when I get to Red Faction.

Predator Jump, MCU 2 and Ghostbusters

>Have you ever done the whole 'I am God' thing before Jumpers? Maybe turned yourself bigger then the planet and showing them your superiority?

It was Injustice 1 jump, did the whole make peace or I will blow up your planet thing. Had a power nullifying effect on the earth to prevent interruption.

Hey /jc in ffxiii how much can a trapezohedron take into a single weapon? Because i'm planning to make all my arsenal into one form, or do you guys have a better idea to do that?

If you do it like SoB, please do something more like what Val does for her jumps instead of making a cheapo item section.

Invalid jump.

And that's perfectly okay. If I don't need to show them, then there's no point in grandstanding when I can save the effort and walk off.

Their loss.

Okay, rewrote it a bit so it's less powerful. How's this?

PERK
A technique that was largely lost after the Age Of Legends, mages of great power could once use this magical power to ward off death itself. When using this ability, your spirit retreats into a cocoon of sorts, formed of raw magical power. Within this shell, you will recover from your injuries until you emerge, once more at full strength. The more severe your injuries are, the longer the shell will need to restore you, and you are completely insensate while inside. It’s not unheard of for severely injured magicians to need months or years before they emerge once more, and on at least one occasion a nearly-dead mage spent a thousand years within a shell because he had already spent most of his power.
The shell itself is nearly indestructible; the Vendigroth Device was the only known method in Arcanum for killing a magician that has mastered this technique. In other worlds, forces of similarly great power may be able to break the shell and kill you.
Should you reach the end of your time in any world, the shell will always collapse, potentially forcing you out with some of your injuries if your regeneration is not yet complete.
The shell may activate automatically to prevent your death once per decade, but must otherwise be consciously activated with a sufficient expenditure of magical power.

NOTES:
To put the toughness of the Regenerative Shell into context: when Vendigrothian inventors developed the Vendigroth Device, the magician that destroyed them not only devastated the entire country, but he did so with such power that two thousand years later the entire area remains little more than a blasted wasteland. Said mage did not have the means to break a Regenerative Shell, nor did his peers or superiors. Expect weapons or magic of sufficient power they can emulate nuclear strikes to break a shell, but anything weaker than that will likely fail without repeated attacks.

I think you accidentally a word in there, user. Far as I can tell, it works once per weapon.

However, you should still keep the benefit if you merge multiple weapons together. If the weapon dealt fire + Ice originally and you merged a similar weapon into it that had light + dark damage-types, it should deal all four damage types.

Predator ?

That's a lot better, yeah.

Could you write something in the notes for Post Spark changes? Full ability once you've become a Planeswalker?

Is it even automatic in game? Curious, since it says it's a technique so it sounds like it had to be activated.

I don't see why not. Will add some.
The shell isn't a thing you can do in-game, only a couple of NPCs have that power (the end-game boss Kerghan is specifically one of them). As for if it's automatic, it is in that battle but at that point the guy isn't exactly your average spellcasting dude in robes anymore. There's not enough examples to show if it's reflexive or fully automatic.

So... I'm guessing I can't get the same person for both drawbacks if I pick Yandere Yaoi/Yuri together with Married Ending?

In what ways does the Season City quirk improve with three purchases of Empowered Quirk?

No, but that would be quite funny to read about. The marriage is for ten years minimum, no matter how many times the Yandere cuts your significant other's brake lines.

>but will the scenarios be released sometime this week?
Probably not. I don't really feel like working on that right now, just an idea for a future update. Might eventually add some other stuff too like 100 CP race perks and item trees for races.

My employment would've been incredibly controversial, if it hadn't been almost completely obfuscated. Officially, I'm just an auditor for the Protectors' expenses.

Unofficially, the Flowers were very surprised to hear I wholly endorse their operation. We've been cautiously trading notes; I've been advocating more...widescale anti-SUE countermeasures.

Gravity furnace-melons encoded with world reset programs. Artificial pattern-spiders. Memetic killcodes made of Red Truths. I'm concerned that with in current pop culture, aberrant fiction will increase in numbers and scope exponentially to the point where it will be unrealistic to expect a team of baseline human agents to deal with them, instead of an easily overlooked unmanned drone.

My companions are a bit of a sticking point though; I've made the case they're technically alternate versions of the original character because of the chain's structure. As a sign of good faith, I've been having these negotiations in the most mundane human form I can muster. To keep me busy while they mulled over my metaliterary WMD designs, I was given the harder missions. The hit on Sonichu went as planned 'cos I'd been around that block. But to this day, nobody believes the point man who took credit for the Sapphirus job.

(Cont'd)

>ate the Ironborn

Thank goodness for Shoggoths not having taste buds, pirates are stinky.

Huh, thanks.

Isn't it more of a weapon buff thing than a combine weapons thing? I think the recombination tablet from FF13-2 would be more helpful for that.

Fair enough then. Understandable, even if it'd have been funny.

Hmmm, maybe I'll go with opposite-gendered twins instead... Seems like a connection between them (besides myself) would add a bit of extra spice to ten years of murder/kidnapping plots.

This is starting to sound like a Spanish soap opera.

Do it like how Val does hers please

Gotcha, thanks.

Mainly because the woman's head ended up in another reality.

It's taxing, having to play at humanity. More taxing still to cover up the full extent of my abilities once enough people figured out I was the guy the Flowers kept giving the hardest jobs to; I've brokent the record for the hundred-meter-backpeddle-while-mumbling-about-classified dash. No matter what my essence tells me, yelling commandments at people is NOT the answer.

Oh, and Pleinair made friends with all the other alternate Pleinairs. They formed a Pleinair Club that stared worldly wisdom into people.

Finally, the day came when they approved Project Anafabula. Broadcasting the anti-narrative would take more time than I had left in the world, and probably continuous development post-Spark but it was still a somber day.

Once the SUEs were gone, a lot of people would be out of work. There was a lot of retraining, and some of the oldtimers needed a helping hamd to take up the training they'd need to operate the new tech. And there was a general sense that hands-on violence would be less frequent now the Protectors could afford to be much more hands-off.

But hey, better to live as good fiction than to die as bad fiction.

Oh hey, Yoro, I remember you were talking about making a Star vs jump and you were waiting on Season 3? Just thought I'd let you know that there's apparently going to be a two hour TV movie in July, that'll focus on Toffee/Ludo's invasion of Mewni as well as the original battle between Moon and Toffee.
