Well I think Trevor Belmont would make a good Paladin.
He's Lawful, he pays for his drinks and food (or tries to) even if the locals hate him. He could easily have stolen them. He's good or at least has the Judeo-Christian god on his side. Blessed weapons.
Sure the Catholic church threw his family out but in the Netflix cartoon universe, they don't get a vote even if they don't know it.
I'm playing him as an Inquisitor in PF

We're statting him, not rating him. Hell, I could rate the entire cast of the show right now.
Sypha:
Stone Cold Fox/10
>Stone Cold Fox
thats a weird way to say
>catty snark queen
Did you forget that scene where he first sneaks into the walled city?
Was going to literally stab that innocent guard if he wasn't already asleep.
He's chaotic good, at least. Perhaps a ranger. He doesn't care for authority, but also wants to look out for the people who can't protect themselves.
>Was going to literally stab that innocent guard if he wasn't already asleep.
he was being prepared in case the guard turned round to fight...a city under siege is usually full of the high-strung
Something with access to whips (and maybe flails), short swords, battle axes, and knives.
The rest is just copious amounts of Holy Water, Holy Symbols, and watches.
That and he just got run out of the other town for being a Belmont.
>Proficiency in Intimidation
Nigga what? He can't stop a bunch of drunk peasants from beating him up. I'd switch it with Acrobatics.
Post stat block, faggot.
Wait, there's a Castlevania cartoon/anime? AND it's about fucking Trevor? Sign me the fuck up.
she was literally stone though
its on Netflix
only 4 eps now though, 8 more next year
and even the 4 they have out now cover a LOT without being terribly disjointed or weird.
Man, this is awesome news to me. Trevor used to be my favorite Castlevania character.
>Innocent guard
If it isn't cute, it isn't innocent.
Somehow this comment got me thinking. Where exactly does innocence end? If someone can kick all sorts of ass in combat but isn't going to attack anyone for no reason are they still innocent? Would a paladin that has fought evil monsters for years and has a kill count on the hundreds, but who wouldn't ever in their right mind dare even threaten someone who's not one of said monsters still be counted as innocent? Or does innocence implicitly imply that they are defenceless and can't cause harm?
Thought for the day. Or night, it's fucking 5 AM here and I'm starting to get delirious.
Innocence is subjective and is frequently tied to a sort of cosmic justice. In this case innocence translated to "that guard did nothing to Trevor and had no relation Trevor's problem, this it would be unjust to kill him for he is innocent to any crime."
Yeah, there's only one real flaw in it.
No Grant.
I've seen both subbed and dubbed versions. They did great with both, I think.
Western anime.
It's actually good. I was as shocked as anybody.
The animation is good, but the story is like something written by a edgy teen in the early 2000s.
An intentionally cultivated acceptance of violent strife is a grave and vicious deformity of moral character that degrades (or, at the very least, strains and potentionally compromises) individual capacity for communal association on the basis of relational equality. Which is to say, fantasy murderhobos who have killed hundreds of the guilty make bad neighbors not because they kill the guilty, but merely because they kill, and normal people do not.
It's really not that bad.
'Edgy' is a very ill defined descriptor anyway, which is why everyone keeps arguing about this bullshit.
Makes sense considering they don't even go to Castlevania yet. and he would not have fit the theme the other MCs had of family responsibility.
>Trevor - Paladin, Noble background.
>Sypha - Wizard, Acolyte background.
>Alucard - Warlock, Hermit background.
>Grant - Rogue, Sailor (Pirate) background.
Thing is, I found it both terribly disjointed and weird, as well as underwhelming. Like, I was expecting absolute balls to the wall action. Was pretty disappointed in that regard.
It's funny because Trevor is pretty much the polar oposite of the kind of character that comes to mind when you think of a paladin of noble origin.
Yeah, which is why he'd be interesting. His family have lost everything, the church have excommunicated him, and all he's got left is the fight.
And of course the magical whip inhabited by the ghost of his ancestor.
It IS based off Castlevania which is angry vampire man travels through time to fuck with Wallachia because he really fucking hates that place.

Debatable as to if he enslaved death or beelzebub could just be their interest align. A lot of the stuff is in his castle not to serve him but because he doesn't care enough to clear them out (like the fishmen in his sewers)..
Really, despite calling Dracula Master, Death seems more like his friend than anything else.
Just a bit of an enabler.
Paladin/ranger gestalt with favored enemy: Undead

Seems interesting 9
Looks like FATE. Veeky Forums hates it
It is Fate, and only part of Veeky Forums hates. They just happen to be a loud and dedicated part.
Loving the choice of paladin, there's no archetype I like better than the bitter misanthrope with a heart of gold
Stat and class me
Trevor and Sypha are fairly easy but I'm having trouble pinning down a class for him
He's some sort of gish with an emphasis on speed and light armored combat.

>SYMPHONY of the night
That's just because Castlevania's naming scheme is usually "[Something related to music] of [Something dark/morbid]," i.e. Harmony of Despair and Aria of Sorrow.
Eh, it's Symphony's just a musical trend. Rondo of Blood, Harmony of Dissonance (also a fun contradiction), Harmony of Despair, Aria of Sorrow. Even Lament of Innocence could be an example.
It's a tough one.
Given his abilities are Dark Magic, I'd peg him as Warlock. As for his pact, most likely Infernal.
Fortunately, there's at least one form of Vampire as a race (from the Planeshift: Zendikar article. Still works)
He probably has picked up some martial class, for the Duelling Fighting Style.
Some spell ideas inspired by the games: Hellish Rebuke (Hellfire), Gaseous Form (Mist Form), Vampiric Touch (Dark Metamorphosis), Fireball (Dark Inferno, From Infernal Pact)

what interesting lore comes from this universe?
>Proficiency in Intimidation
Really? Shit, the only intimidating thing about him is when he actually attacks you. Beyond that everyone basically told him to fuck himself and/or die, especially after he opened his mouth.
That depends: Has he got his shovel?
Okay, let's stick with the basics.
You've got Dracula, the vampire lord. Every hundred years he gets resurrected, his dark castle (the titular Castlevania) returns, monsters from hell start to spring forth and pillage the land.
And every hundred years, someone rises to oppose him from the Belmont Clan. Armed with their ancestral whip, they go forth to challenge Dracula within the depths of Castlevania, and destroy him to claim another hundred years of peace.
Only things get a bit more complex, you see, the reason why the Belmonts are Dracula's enemies, is because way way back, Dracula (then under a different name) tricked Leon Belmont into slaying another vampire, to gain the vampire's power. This manipulation caused Leon Belmont's fiancée to become captured, and turned into a vampire. To gain revenge, she sacrificed her soul to join with Leon's whip via alchemy, creating the ancestral Belmont Whip, the Vampire Killer.
Now, let's go a bit more complex. Dracula met a woman named Lisa, and fell in love, they lived together happily and there was peace.
Until the church burned Lisa for being a witch, and consorting with the devil (that second one's not unjustified really) which caused Dracula to get pissed, and starting his whole "slaughter everyone living" thing again.
Now, Lisa and ol' Drac had a kid, Adrian Fahrenheit Tepes, also known as Alucard. He teamed up with the current Belmont, and a magic user named Sypha, to take down Dracula.
Aaaand here's where it gets weird. You see, in the GRIM FUTURE of 1999, Dracula was finally defeated and destroyed.
Unfortunately, it's not that simple, Dracula is the lord of darkness, the incarnation of chaos. He has to exist.
So his soul was reborn as a Japanese teenager.
Good thing this wasn't SotN. I'd have just spammed tetra spirit and soul steal until Trevor and Sypha were dead. Actually, no need, I'd have done the same to Dracula. Or the priests that arrested Lisa. Tetra spirit + soul steal just fixes everything. And I'm pretty sure he can always use them if you know how to input it on the D-Pad.
it was good until you took it to the 90s
Don't worry, that stuff only comes about in two later games. Although they're actually really fun
Really, the big Castlevania game's Symphony of the Night. Which was the first Castlevania Metroidvania. There's also the netflix animated series.
>There's also the netflix animated series.
that and this one starbomb song is all I knew before regarding the setting...
>"Then I asks him: 'You didn't think he'd go blind fuckin' a goat with mange?'"
>"You'd a got blamed for that too."
>"I'd a got blamed for that too."
that whole conversaion was good cause it broke the setting-darkness nicely
>where did you come from
>well, out of your aunt according to you
I hope the show keeps that level of wit and humor...and that they meet Bosha and Kob again as a party
Trust me, that's the best bit.
In those games you play as the reincarnated drac (without knowing for the first game) stealing the souls of monsters to gain powers, and fending off the others who want to claim your powers for their own.
While wearing a Pimp Coat.
Also there are these time travelers that only show up in two games that are watching Dracula. One is the Count de Saint Germain.
Stat him, Veeky Forums.
In the games with a monster encyclopedia, Death is always described as 'Dracula's confidante.'
We need lewds of Sypha.
>statting in WFRP
Use Night's Dark Masters, dude, he's at least a Thrall but probably closer to a Count.
Surprisingly, Soma is really great. You actually play as said teen, and destroy someone also trying to claim Dracula's soul and powers (his boss battle strongly recalls SotN Drac's). You resolve to actually fight the source of chaos powering the soul of Dracula, and if you lose, it ultimately comes to dominate you and the ending cutscene has a Belmont coming to slay you.
>We never got the Demon Castle War game where Julius finally finds a way to kill Dracula forever
>We never got to see the armies of the entire world saying "fuck this spooky magical bullshit" and marching into Castlevania with tanks and soldiers
>We'll never get to see them because of mobbed up Konami pachinkoslot
Is Alucard an eunuch?
Maria certainly didn't think so.
Probably just has high pain resistance, he is half vampire.
Wait, Soma? As in the psychological horror game?
No, Soma as in Soma Cruz.
Definitively not, but kicking a dhampir in the dick is no more effective than shooting them.
Getting all the souls was a ton of fun. Lots of crazy combos you could do.
It bothers me when people say "act classy" or "be honorable" in a fight to the death. I mean, fuck, you're trying to stab me you fucking cunt, I'm not gonna shy away from just kicking you in the dick.
Being honourable can be the difference between a fight to the death between you and one other guy, and a blood feud between your whole family and one other guy's whole family. Those codes of conduct aren't there for your individual benefit, they're there keep you from destabilising your society.
Alucard also didn't want it to be a duel to the death. Trevor was the one who jumped at the "I'm going to fucking kill you" angle, Alucard just wanted to scrap with the dude a little.
Julius was pretty rad too. Future Belmonts are pretty crazy.
youtube.com
Trevor is still my favorite though. The Netflix show did him good.
>it was good until you took it to the 90s
You have no idea
youtube.com
This wasn't some honorable duel between two nobles over some political matter, it was Trevor and a vampire he just met fighting to the death. Alucard was about to fucking tear Trevor's throat out if you don't remember.
In this case, sure, but that guy made a blanket statement about "being honourable" in general, and it merited comment.
No, I was making a statement about fights to the death with someone you have no idea if he's honorable or not in an environment where nobody fucking expects you to be and away from anyone who could (or would be stupid enough to care) about whether it was an honorable duel.
Obviously, if I'm having a duel in front of the fucking king and his entire court I'm not gonna try to cheat. But this was a random vampire in the depths of a dungeon, if I had a chance to push him into a wall of spikes I would.
>It bothers me when people say "act classy" or "be honorable" in a fight to the death. I mean, fuck, you're trying to stab me you fucking cunt, I'm not gonna shy away from just kicking you in the dick.
That's the direct quote I responded to. If you meant for it not to be a blanket statement, you should have been a lot more specific. As it stands, you look like you're talking about any fight to the death ever.
The only ones who Dracula seems to see as above him is Chaos, who birthed the titular castle, and Satan, whose ring Dracula wears.
