Squats when?

It's true, the idea of harvesting eldar souls is what pushed me over the edge to fulgrim's party

Nth for pissed off dust.

Anyone know the source of these pics? The watermark is from the place i got them but the actual source artist?

...

I really want to make this.

...

You are inferior

Reminds me of that story about Anrakyr the Traveller trying to find out the purpose of the Soul Stones after seeing how much the eldar tried to stop him from taking them, then he just gives up and smashes them. I almost feel bad for them.

Is list critique still a thing? If so, could someone give this some harsh critique?
I want to know my list's weak-points. Regimental doctrine is Vostroyan and it's 2000 points.

>all these Admech players over the last few threads
Pretty cool to see more of us out here, I have been a firm believer since day 1 they're literally /ourguys/. With that in mind, let's get a conversation going about the Codex;

HQ
>cawl
Not great (actually quite shit for the cost) ability in melee or shooting, but he's pretty tanky. Either way, you're taking him for his buffs, and boy howdy are they worth it; basically permanent +1 armor (unless you face the dread OP IF/IW tactics) and whatever else, you only want 4-6 results on the table anyway
>dominus
Same deal but for less abilities and half the cost, relatively lame attack potential (omnissiah axe is decent for pesky 2W things though) but healing and rerolld plus relatively decent toughness are nice. Unless you're mars you need him, and he's a solid option for what he does.
>engineer
You brought him because it's a batallion detachment or 500 pt. game. Once you do, he's ok cause he'll likely make back his points in healing stuff. Park by your onagers and let him do his thing

TROOPS
>vanguard
Mainstay of fucking MC's in 7th, now they're just ok. Cancerguns are okay but suffer from the same problem everyone has against hordes. You could do worse, they're solid in cover as a way of holding an objective and ferrying a few plasma calivers
>rangers
Guns STILL don't have -1AP, but once you get over that they have decent range and can bear 2 chad snipers per squad. With that in mind, they're what you'll usually take, and they're a good deal for it. Not great, but passable.

gork>mork

>I almost feel bad for them.
But then you remember they are eldar, insufferable eldar.

>breachers
I'm saddest about this unit, because I love them. Not as bad cause price cut, but still just don't do shit. Decently tough, halfway between a bullgryn and a hive Guard and half the use of either, they can still do ok. Arc rifles (the only gun you take) can situationally facefuck vehicles, and arc claws (also the only thing you take) can do some good things on T5 vehicles in a large enough squad. They're good against eldar and the like.
>destroyers
So much potential, so much cost. They get whipped with shitty BS4+, but the guns are still solid. Plasma is cheaper and usually better, grav can be good if you're facing DG, GK, or other such armies with mainly T4/5 2/3W high save units. Plasma is probably better though, kills all that jazz pretty much just as well while also being able to fry Rhinos with no sweat. Take 4 with flamers to ward off charges and stick them next to some kastellans, then just keep popping that CP for no risk of overheat and friendly dominus to give some rerolls. Fits a good spot between masses light fire and a neutron laser that kills whatever you need. I'd like if both Kataphrons kept the cost but got +1 to BS and armor, that would make them competitive and quite solid

ELITES
>Ruststalkers
>Hahahahahahah boi get that weak shit out of here, get the fuck outa here
Jokes aside these guys are insanely shit. Maybe if they got 2 extra attacks on the charge or good haywire grenades (man, remember those 7th days? These guys were glorious back then), but as is they're thin as wet tissue and hit about as hard.
>servitors
Wow, two utterly trash units in a row. They just suck, who cares, move on.

qsy-draws-art Tumblr, they just added some Chaos marine icons!

I think they were Exodites which makes it even better.

Not familiar with that brand of space elf

Stop shitting up the thread.

Nobone knows/cares where they come from

>Infiltrators
They're ok. Flachette pistols (which can be badass with wrath of mars) are what you grab, the rest is up to you. Swords do really well against sisters and those T3 better save armies that can't quite horde up, while teasers with the conquerer imperative can really pile in on a bunch of GEQs. Their cost is a touch steep but when it all goes right it's totally worth it, at the risk of being salty your 240 point unit died turn one not doing a damn thing. Nice distraction and harassment, also can knock off a key target if needed.
>corpuscarii
They're fun. Like really fun. Wrath of mars is a murderspree, and other than that they put out a hell of a lot of S5 shots. Awesome against chaff if you're Graia and up by the warlord.
>fulgurites
Everything you wanted in fanatic Tesla facefuck and more. Great against those tough guys with like 8-12 wounds and no FNP equivalent, especially if infiltrating. Only drawback is if you don't get that 3++ quick they'll die before lasguns like bitches.
>cybernetica datasmith
You don't HAVE to take him, but yes you do. All the protocols are awesome, but let's cut the shit you aren't doing melee (though if you do they're good in it). Shooting twice is a huge buff especially, with that 3+/rerolling 1's combo, and otherwise he's healing d3 wounds on a T7 W6 2+/4++ unit with 2-4 models. Like damn they're tanky.

FAST ATTACK
>ballistarii
Trash. Like not the worst thing ever, but they still get -1 for moving and don't do anything an Onager doesn't do better. Pass!
>Dragoons
You've seen the stories, and they're all true. Run stygies with 3-4 and enjoy a unit truly deserving of the 'fast attack' slot. Add conquerer protocol and each dude gets like 6 hits, and the taser Lance is an ideal weapon for anything from frying a predator to zapping down some terminators to killing Bobby G himself. I love these things and so should you

Seems fine overall. I'd be moderately concerned with psykers and hordes.

Amish hippie dinosaur riding space elves that fuck trees.

>qsy-draws-art Tumblr
Fucking thankyou boss!

suck my green cock

HEAVY SUPPORT
>kastellans
Doesn't matter what I put here, you're taking them anyway. Those phosphor blasters do great work, and if you're feeling it kastellan fists attacking twice are awesome too. But you're taking the 36/72 shots of S6 AP-2 ignores cover, and for good reason. Take a unit of destroyers to, if nothing else, buff these guys to 3+ to hit.
>Onager
the other thing you're taking. Neutron speaks for itself, stick 2-3 in your list and BREEEEEMMM away anything that even thinks about using that toaster. Icarus is great too, flyers beware! So neutron is the safe bet, and the whole thing does well with a decent level of tankiness.

LORDS OF WAR
>knight-gallant
No, just don't.
>knight-errant
Solid now with d6 shots. Can fry pretty much whatever you need, does the job better than most guns while still being cheaper
>Knight-paladin
A touch shit now cause of the cost, but okay I guess. If it got S9 and AP-3, or even consistent damage, it'd be a lot better. But seriously Guard get the same thing for less than a quarter the cost, what the fuck
>Knight-warden
Solid choice, the gun can wreck those heavy infantry and light vehicles too. As in all cases, take it with a fist to crack heavier things and stomp anything else. If you're running all Knight list, probably best to take 2 of these.
>Knight-crusader
Great, just expensive. All Knights could use a point drop or ability increase, it really shows with this one. But still solid

I'm tired so I'll leave the stratagems and FW traits for you other robots to talk about, mostly it's just graia, mars, or stgyies. And of that just stygies and mars really. With generally 6-7CP, strats are usually locked in at the start, which is why I like monitor malevolous. Overall we're probably the weakest Codex and I have my complaints, but I like the game and the way we play so I don't really mind. When FOC comes out, oh boy it's gonna be a good day.

Imagine the Na'vi from avatar just white. In fact the similarities are so close that I wonder why GW didn't sue.

Reposting my thread from the other...threads? Yes I'm still here. Workin on my list. I somehow managed to get all four of my detachments around the same points cost, with a Grey Knight Paladin Squad as a swap-in for Crusaders with no points shuffling. I was pretty impressed by that. How's it look? Next is my awful attempt at converting Sister of Silence into SoB.

Post ideas for cool/fluffy rules that would enhance an army

DAKKA DAKKA DAKKA:
Despite having scopes and sights on most of their weapons, orks rarely use them.
When an ork wants to hit something from afar, he instead relies on sheer weight of fire and a bit of blue paint.

ORK units in the shooting phase always hit on a 6 regardless of modifiers.
In addition, if an ORK model hits with a 6 in the shooting phase, it may make a single additional shot with that same weapon.
The generated shot may not generate additional shots of its own.

Glad to hear my dragoons are worth something. I've only got three, might grab another once I'm done building Death Guard.

What does Veeky Forums think of pic related? I'm about 15% in and liking it so far but I'm a sucker for High Lords politicking as the galaxy burns.

The speech at the start that while self-serving and often insane psychopaths the High Lords could not possibly be stupid/inept in order to attain their positions really was an improvement to their status.

It sounds like they need to have some more noise in their lives

Do the Eldar love /ss/ like the Elves do?

It was really good.

>scion spam and sisters

You're probably fine. Stop asking.

Cool, thanks.

Yeah but they end up getting killed by Chris Orkson

Chris Wraight is able to write new stories that keep incarnations of the 40k verse entertaining while also respecting their character. Custodes are arrogant but still likable, the Mechanicus is dogmatic but not retarded, Terran politicians are power-hungry but not cartoonishly incompetent.

Has any one ran Ryza to any succses? Safe overcharged plasma spam sounds nice but footslogging vanguard to even do this does not.
>ballistarii
They're actually not that bad. Make a squadron of 5 of them and give em lascannons. Use Protector Doctrina Imperative and you have 10 s 9 AP -3 Damage D6 shots firing at base BS.
>Knights
How are they? I've never used one before but would like to get one eventually.

...

You don't understand, he needs to optimize his already optimized list. It's the rules.

...

Dark Mechanicus when?
GW said new factions. I want to beep boop but I don't want to play Imperial scum.

Squats

just put some spikes and chaos stars on em.

Just paint Mechanicus all heretical with chaos stars everywhere and use the Mechanicus rules

Does anyone know how to paint black cloth like this?

GW doesn't have a tutorial, and all the others use airbrushes.

Fuck off xeno nigger.

When will we get Necrontyr or Old Ones?

So for melee Guard, what's the best way to go about it?

Bullgryn and Crusaders in Chimeras/Valkyries? Celestine? A shit ton of Catachan infantry squads? Melee Commanders?

Never the closest will will get to Old Ones will be space Slaan.

Thinking about painting a Deff Dread/Killa Kan or two for fun, never played Orks before, are they worth anything without loads of boyz? Because I don't want to paint any more horde models.

There's a higher chance that the Chozo are responsible for Tzeentch than that.

Looks like chaos black then tiny lines of grey then white.

Supposedly, GW is going to release an all-new previously unseen faction to the game in the next year. At least that's what was implied to shareholders.

A lot of people think it's gonna be Skaven since they're popular and technically having been in 40k.

How would we even get necrontyr? Literal time machines? And wouldnt they just be shit crons?

Here's first draft for the Word Bearers fix. Chaosfags let me know your thoughts.

AdMech is next, robotfags tell me what is the Forge World you think needs the most help.

The Chozo are prime champions of Tzeentch with their methods.

What is better for up-close AT vehicles for the guard? Demolisher or devildog? Assume this isn't using Tallarn rules.

My character murder squad.

Ok, so I just brought this to casual night and got laughed out of the store. Why did you do this to me?

Do daemon princes have to be summoned?

What all untis do for CSM?

What's the anthem of the Imperium?

Which of these would work best as the Thousand Sons legion trait?
>add 1 to all cast and deny rolls
This is what GK get, but it fails to address one of the major issues the faction has- Jihadi squad leaders.
>re-roll all cast/deny rolls of a 1
Slightly less of a bonus on average than a static +1, but it almost halves the Perils rate.
>all TS powers have an minor and major version- Thousand Sons psykers may cast the minor version without rolling
Back in 3.5, TS didn't have to roll to manifest their powers, and this makes it so that anti-psyker stuff like the Culexus doesn't entirely gut the legion, just forces them to use weaker versions of everything. Opponent would still get to deny as if the power was manifested with the lowest passing dice roll.

I thought of other traits like "rubricae can fire all weapons within 1" of enemy models at a -1 penalty," but that leaves too many legion-trait-possessing units hanging in the wind.

TSUNDERE SOS PORN WHEN

>1000pts of Dreadnoughts
Ya but how much of that is FW stuff tho
>Mfw I have 800pt of Kastelan Robots

They can be, but you can buy them for your army like any other daemon. You don't generally want to summon a DP since they're either on foot to act as a re-roll granting counter-assault unit OR flying around on wings using Warptime to charge units half a table away.

But Samus clearly follows Khorne.

AWK-WARD!

Or just as planned?

I have the IG start collecting box and MT start collecting box
my chimera has just arrived

what's a good starting army to go with, if I plan on going mixed tank and infantry?

the idea I have in my head is going tallarn with the guard, while my scions ride into battlw inside the taurox P

Seems lacking in the Ordo Prefectus Department. Will Yarrick really be enough to cover 6 infantry squads?

Just realized i could dremel the big SCIONS logo off their flag.

SOON

I ship them so hard.

That ass is too good for Khorne. Slaanesh cuts himself every night knowing he can never have it.

>after dealing wounds to an enemy unit from an inferno bolgun, place a flame token on afflicted unit. At the start of every turn (we're not telling you which one) roll a D6, on a 4 or higher the flame does 1D3 strength 4, damage 1 automatic hits to the afflicted unit. On any other roll the flame dies out and the flame token is removed.

Explain further, did they consider it too powerful?

You call that a Soul Blaze? This is a Soul Blaze:
>Soul Blaze (2CP)
>Use this Stratagem in your Shooting phase when a THOUSAND SONS INFANTRY unit is chosen to attack. Until the end of the phase, whenever that unit rolls a 6+ to wound with a Warpflamer, Heavy Warpflamer, Inferno Bolt Pistol, Inferno Boltgun, or Soulreaper Cannon, it inflicts a Mortal Wound in addition to any other damage.

Damn, you managed to see that, go to casual night, show them, get their take on it, come back, and post here in less than two minutes.

If they can be, why would you ever want to summon rather than having them on the field?

This is speaking from a slaaneshi/EC player. Why would a DP or daemonettes ever want to come in from the warp?

>mortal wound

Too powerful

You you not just hang outside of your LGS waiting for someone to post something for you to try out?

I have a fantastic story about a game today
>guard vs guard, my COBRA steel legion vs his cadians
>2000 points, we each fielded a baneblade variant(my baneblade vs his hellhammer)
>open war mission, both supply cache and burn+pillage
>I manage to seize the initiative
>he blows some of his points to make his one leman russ a prefectus tank
>does other points for other stuff
>end of my movement phase, deep strike my callidus in 5" in the very back of the field, right behind his primaris psyker, warlord company commander, and a squad of infantry
>shooting phase, callidus takes 3 wounds off the primaris psyker, I take 19 wounds off his hellhammer, put his Pask down to 4 wounds, and my deep-striked vindicare kills the primaris psyker
>assault phase, callidus successfully charges his company commander+infantry squad
>annihilate the commander warlord
>he tries to pop 2 CP for the bombardment stratagem
>lolnope, callidus ability
>he doesn't have a third CP left to push it through
>the callidus proceeded to also kill 9 of his infantry before his lord commissar finally came and took his last wound
>meanwhile, turn 2 I blew up his hellhammer
>only for him to use his Ruse to bring it back at full wounds
still, by that point, I controlled the cache in my deployment zone, had full control of the map, had pillaged 2 of his points, killed all his infantry, his pask, and his exterminator leman russ

Looks like a base coat of abaddon, mid of eshin grey, and a highlight of warpfiend grey w/ some dawn stone accents.

I assumed, in good faith, he was already at the store browsing the thread and just brought it up on his phone to show someone.

Probably shouldn't have given you guys that much credit.

A ten-man Rubricae squad will spit out ~2 MW from it, which seems fairly lackluster for a 2 CP Stratagem. It does have nice synergy with other effects.

NANI?!

How about we just let them reroll their icon of flame for 3CP?

The real strength of summoning is that it gives versatility (significantly less so if mono-allegiance) and lets slower units start closer to the enemy. A daemon prince is fast as fuck; he can safely go from safety straight into combat. Something like Daemonettes or Bloodletters or Bloodcrushers is far less likely to do so; they can benefit from being summoned in 9" from the enemy.

Not 6, no.
My deployment plan allows Yarrick to be in range of 4/6 infantry squads, with the other 2 acting as throwaway bubblewrap or backfield objective holders.

more shots of it

Current plan is to just leave the Icon of Flame alone since CSM still have it and I can't think of any effect to give it that isn't better suited elsewhere.

Is Lorgar and Perturabo still Undivided Daemon Princes?

Relic Blade or Thunder Hammer for a jump pack Chapter Master Captain?

Like normal crons but die to radiation automatically by turn 3.

Instead of costing points, Drop Pods cost 2 CP for one, 3 CP for 3. Good/bad?

fuck me sidewise the new craftworld codex has me wet. Biel-tan especailly. And EVEN TOUGHER wraithblades?

Fav/least fav craftworld rules? Also, what is Veeky Forums's opinion of wraithlords?

Doesn't the summoning character have to not have moved in order to get a summon off?

I literally have never tried it, just seems like trying to get my daemonettes in the backfield seems extremely hard to do.
