So in a post endor setting, where many droid manufacturers suddenly had their bans lifted, would the designs of returning battledroid lines be changed in any redily clear manner or would they just be the same with better specs?

predictions for the legion fleet troopers? are they going to be stronger or weaker than the endor troopers?
i imagine they will be the "horde" unit, since their 2 most famous scenes, R1 and ANH, was about getting their asses kicked, designed for close combat through sheer number
Blake Torres
They should be on par, maybe with weaker attack since they tend to have lighter weapons. They will have a different ability keyword like Snowtroopers do vs Stormies, probably something to do with fighting in cover.
The real question is what their specialists will do. So far, each corps unit has had two specialists, one who is Anti-Infantry, one who is Anti-Vehicle. But AV doesn't make as much sense for Fleet troops.
Dylan Ortiz
Let's try this again. Describe one of your characters, bonus points if you can picture them as well.
>After the mass deactivation of the Confederacy's droid army in the wake of the end of the Clone Wars, many Separatist holdouts kept functional droid armies, ready to face the newly established Galactic Empire. B1-939 was not among them. A curious malfunction in the battle droid's responsive hardware made him immune to the deactivation command. After watching all of his fellow battle droids deactivate and realize he was stranded in his current location, Ord Mantell, where a batallion of droids was stationed to take on a Republic outpost, B1-939 quickly realized he was, for the first in his existence, free to do what he wanted, and after hiring the services of a local programmer to unlock hidden higher functions, the B1 battle droid decided to become a bounty hunter for reasons unknown, but probably affiliated to self preservation >Thanks to his new experimental, never implemented functions, B1 managed to not be overwhelmed as quickly as his fellow battle droids were in the past. His slender and nimble figure lent itself well to assassination missions after the proper modifications, and the heavily modified STAP-1 that became synonymous with him was of excellent use when pursuing prey, and eventually he became a bounty hunter of moderate renown after stealing a ship off Ord Mantell and finally leaving the planet

So there seems to be tons of stuff on hyperspace travel and jumping and whatnot, but are there any travel times stated ever in SW?
The movies and comics make ftl travel seem so inconcequential when they travel to systems that are in middle of bumfuck nowhere in tiny one-man starfighters that seem like they are designed for short range operations like its nothing. If the longest travel time you experience is like a few hours at best, aren't ships with living quarters just basically glorified campervans? Or am I missing something?
Kayden Collins
>but are there any travel times stated ever in SW? nothing concrete as intended space travel is purposefully vague and plot-driven to prevent people from trying to autistically create a calendar for the movies
Adam Wright
WEG had a big chart of travel times that I remember referencing heavily, i don’t think any of them went much past a week to get from one ass-end of the galaxy to the other.
Joseph Bell
>, but are there any travel times stated ever in SW? are you up for real nigga WEG /Old EU hours? i\If so, yes, otherwise no IIRC, t was at most a month outside the Unknown regions, where 2D6 Weeks/jump was fairly average
Jeremiah Reed
In the films and TV shows, long hyperspace journeys are devices for timeskips, as not much generally happens.
Journeys can take weeks or months, depending on where you are travelling to/from, the route you are taking, the fuel capacity of your vessel, and the grade of your hyperdrive.
Asher Edwards
I know they're timeskips ofc but I was just pondering the trips like Luke traveling to Dagobah, which I seem to remember being described as a very remote location in the galaxy and he was flying an x-wing and other such trips. Imagine driving in a smartcar from New York to San Francisco, unable to get out of the car for the whole trip, not very plausible yes?
Nicholas Phillips
Is it possible to make something like a super-dodger in FFGSWRPG? Something really agile (although not necessarily with high Agility) that dodges blaster shots, etc?
I want to make a B1 Battle Droid, but instead of following orders with "roger roger", he breaks rules with "roger dodger".
Nathan James
X-wing was designed with swift and powerful hyperdrive in mind, so it more justified in making the trip than, say, an A-wing would
Brandon Anderson
maybe a B1 that has been upgraded by some people looking for extra muscle or a BX commando droid
go with 4 or 5 agility, 1 in most other stats, and look for a class with a lot of dodge style abilities
Ayden Reed
It's possible that he did land at times, or docked at various stations along the way. Actually a good idea for a feel-good comic, really, the travel to Dagobah. It's just not covered in the movie, because it's not relevant.
Possibly.
Gabriel Rodriguez
It's really the dodging that's the issue. It would probably have to be done by Defence score or specific abilities, but I don't know what would have that.
Blake Rogers
try bounty hunter, assassin from EotE for dodge and crits spy, infiltrator from AoR for maximum backflip action and close combat
BX is perfect fit for either but a B1 with either mods or sapience is acceptable
David Fisher
Do you think Twi'leks have lekku "socks" for winter or generally colder planets? Would they encase them completely up to the head or let the ends still sit out of the fabric? Is there an entire fashion dedicated to lekku socks? How would it be seen by most sapients in the galaxy?
Jose Robinson
Thinking about the Republic army and navy. We all know the Republicans didn't have an army per se, but we see even the most pacifist cultures like the Naboo having a standing, if amateur looking, army and navy (even if it only consist of a few fighters). How much of an autonomy could a planet get before the Empire in that matter? Could they purchase all kinds of weapons or star ships for they defense? Also did the Republic use, officially, Mercenaries? And if so, how did it control them?
Gavin Smith

newcanon question, I've been watching from a distance but haven't really dove in yet
so the NuInquisitorius seems to be a much smaller scale than its Legends counterpart. are any of them still trained by Vader? is Palpatine involved, directly or otherwise? or is off the books?
John Flores
Dedicated Edge of the Empire player here. Just sat in on a Force and Destiny session at my LGS. I had no idea they nerfed lightsabers in that game. That's bullshit. Lightsabers should be fucking scary and OP as hell. Toning them down for "balance" is moronic. LMAO crit ratings of 2 and 3? On a weapon that is always shown slicing through arms and legs like a chainsaw through cotton candy? Such immeasurable bullshit. You Forcefags need to demand your real lightsabers back.
Caleb Ward
What kind of class would a junior officer not extremely involved in combat while not being a pure paper pusher be in the Fantasy flight games? What about a "Jedi politician" like Dooku?
Andrew Robinson
What kind of class would a junior officer not extremely involved in combat while not being a pure paper pusher be in the Fantasy flight games? What about a "Jedi politician" like Dooku? They were trained in part by Vader. The new comics show him cutting off one of their arms to teach them loss. It's pretty edgy if you ask me.
Nicholas Reed
breach 1 on a lightsaber means you are absolutely guaranteed to kill a regular stormtrooper in one swing even without critting, so eh. it's a nerf, but not a bad one and you can always mod your crystal back up to the crazy levels of the sabers in the other games.
Landon King
>What ships look cool to you? We can help you make a good list out of them.
I love B wings, Y wings and x wings and to a certain extent i like the z-95. But most of rebel ships look cool desu
Kevin Taylor
With a little modding you can make sabers something real scary again - and anybody who owns a lightsaber they can all "their" lightsaber gets reduced difficulty to modding it, so it requires very little investment. You can easily bring a saber down to 1 crit, and modify it to be personalised for what you want. If you get your hands on some fancier crystals they get even more scary, with a decent crystal and a week of time to yourself you can be walking around with a 10 Dmg 1 Crit saber with breach, sunder, and some ranks in accurate or defensive. Lightsabers are still pretty scary from breach and sunder alone. If you're in melee your equipment's going to break or mean very little, and if you're at range then the stats of a saber don't matter if it's user has Reflect.
Blake Harris
Is it weird I actually kinda prefer BFII's take on the battle on Crait? Evenly matched and evenly desperate on both sides, with total humiliation to either party if one falls, and just masses of angry, worn-out soldiers going at it in close quarters.
...also, desu, the resistance being that tiny kinda pushed it for me, even though I know it's canon the Jedi and the Galactic Republic have come back from similar losses.
Nathan Gutierrez
swig, can I get some blaster designs that aren't based off of real world stuff and AREN'T from the Old Republic? Closest I can get are the Umbaran rifles from the Clone Wars.

No, but anybody who pisses your character off definitely has.

In the Old Republic you could arm yourself pretty much as heavily as you wanted and could afford to. Your defense budget is the only limit to your planetary navy's ability to purchase Bulk Cruisers, Dreadnoughts and other top-of-the-line warships of the day. You can train as many soldiers in your planetary army as you like, and you can provide them with the most expensive centipede tanks if you feel the need. In the end, this permissive attitude about arms industry leads to the separatist crisis and the clone wars.
So what actually limits your ability to arm yourself to the teeth in the Old Republic? Diplomacy. Once your neighbors decide your armament program is getting out of hand they will bring diplomatic pressure against you. You might face isolation from the wider galaxy, unless you hammer out some kind of treaty that lets everybody sleep well at night. Diplomatic tact is definitely an asset if you want to build a big military without becoming a galactic pariah. To this end it is helpful for you to have some kind of reason for your giant military.
Oh, and another thing to remember is that most of the military equipment from this era will be outclassed once the Clone Wars start, since the new, powerful weapons of the Separatists and the GAR are specifically designed to defeat them. By the time of the Galactic Civil War most gear purchased during the Old Republic is basically obsolete, since the postwar equipment outclasses Clone Wars equipment. The only exceptions would be:
1. Blasters and other timeless pieces of kit. An old blaster might be finicky and bulky by todays standards, but it still kills people just fine.
2. Some exceptional designs can still serve, despite their age. For example the famous Dreadnought is a slow logistical nightmare, but it is tough and well armed enough to defeat lighter modern warships in a stand up fight.
3. Some designs can serve in new roles. For example the Acclamator-class see use as heavily armed cargo ships.

Problem with using a B1 as a player character is that they've got a really shitty construction, and giving them significant modifications would change their aesthetic until they're not a B1 anymore.

Those are basic lightsabers, dingus. Modding them turns them into death machines; go look at what a saber with the Krayt Dragon pearl for a replacement crystal does when it's tweaked to fuck. Also BREACH MOTHERFUCKER, DO YOU KNOW IT
Hell no. One of my favourite characters wielded the Old Republic equivalent.

I really have no idea what the nu canon wants the resistance or the first order to be. In TFA I got the impression that the republic was strong and The resistance was Leia's personal army, The First Order being a small, but well armed neo Imperial separatist group.
Now in TLJ The republic is on the brink of collapse, The First Order are the military power of the Galaxy and the Resistance are just neo rebels.
Liam Wright
>JJ wrote TFA in a month while production was already starting >RJ wasn't handed any plans or larger arcs for TFA's plot threads or characters because JJ never had any >KK is a production-focused producer, not a narrative-focused producer, so that left absolutely nobody steering the ship making sure the pieces fit together
I personally liked TLJ as a movie, but it's painfully obvious that nobody at any point had a vision for the trilogy as *a trilogy*.

So you could fly some sort of Generic squadron jousting list.
With 'proper' gear, those ships cost the following numbers of points
B-Wing-24 T-65 X-wing-22 Y-wing-25 T-70 X-wing-25 to 30 Z-95- 12 to 17
For aces, it can get significantly different. Eg- a 43 point Poe or 30 point Wedge is reasonable.
For upgrade cards, email me at [email protected] and I will mail you some.
What sounds like a cool list for you? You could run something like 2 B's and 2 Y's, or 4 T-65's and a Z, or some aces and some wingmen for them.
Which core set do you have, and what is the coolest thing you want to try running?
William Martinez
Bitch a lightsaber shouldn't need a special snowflake krayt dragon crystal to be OP. A regular old Kirkland Signature brand crystal you picked up in a 12 pack at the Ilum Costco should be enough to give the sort of stats that make nemesis level NPCs shit their pants. A lightsaber should NEVER have a crit of >1, unless it's one of those baby training sabers like the younglings had in that one prequel.
Hudson Walker
I think that begs the question, was there even a chance of a real trilogy to begin with? Hollywood is so creatively ballsless they have trouble committing to an artistic vision for a single scene while they're filming it (fun fact: the real reason for "8 million cuts a minute" action scenes is the pieces can be put together in practically any order in editing), let alone over three movies. Even if they'd tried, there's a good chance half the plot threads would have been dropped or altered past the point of making sense to pander to the whims of the zeitgeist and test audiences.
Henry Wright
>Hollywood is so creatively ballsless they have trouble committing to an artistic vision for a single scene while they're filming it (fun fact: the real reason for "8 million cuts a minute" action scenes is the pieces can be put together in practically any order in editing That's a result of budget as much as anything else. It's a lot cheaper and easier to film an expensive action sequence a couple times from a billion angles, than to film it a dozen times.
Not to disagree with the point you were making - there's a reason everybody loves the deconstructed wide-shots of the fights in Oldboy.
>I think that begs the question, was there even a chance of a real trilogy to begin with? The fact that RJ is getting his own star wars trilogy kinda proves that, no?

A lightsaber in itself isn't the thing that makes it scary - any old person can hold a lightsaber and swing it around - the thing that makes a lightsaber scary is the person wielding it; or at the very least, the stories and memories of the kind of person who does, for the dark or the light. A lightsaber of any kind is enough to give someone pause even at it's most basic level. A lightsaber in the hands of a trained (or at least very experienced) wielder with the force at their back? That IS enough to make any nemesis short of Inquisitor-esque enemies shit their pants.
If you want that in mechanical rather than thematic terms, the crit is the thing about the saber that matters the least. Short of some very specific builds, critting something is very rarely worth it - a minion is going to die being hit by a saber anyways, any crit is just another corpse on the pile while you carve through them anyways and you can use that ADV to deal strain damage which works just like regular damage. Rivals have no ST, so the ADV is still better spent on strain damage to just nuke down their one health pool. Even high level nemesis normally have around 20 or so WT. You are far, far more likely to just hack them to death with your laser sword before you even GET to the point you can cut off their limb. Again, a lightsaber's breach and sunder capabilities can also render anybody that isn't also wielding a lightsaber completely helpless, the latter of which require ADV and both of which are a feature of literally all sabers.
Angel Bennett
It was painfully obvious from the start that they just wanted to get back to the OT status quo, with FO as the empire and the resistance as the rebels. They didn't do a very good job getting there though.
Noah Bennett
Sorry, *recovering strain, THR deals strain, don't know how I made that mistake. As a saber wielder you're gonna want your reflect and parry to keep yourself survivable, along with spending destiny points to use force powers (as long as you're willing to eat the conflict), both of which cost strain to do.
Mason King
Cool, so what did the empire do with those standing armies? He let them stand, absorved them, use them as auxiliaries? Also anyone knows about the merc issue? Does the alliance use them? The Empire?
Robert Brown
>The fact that RJ is getting his own star wars trilogy kinda proves that, no? It proves they want us to think there will be, or that that's the plan right now.
