I'm kind of into it to be honest. Make the demons a semi-sentient beast race with abilities outside of human understanding so it looks like "magic", could easily fall under low fantasy.

Yeah, I actually felt that Fantasia was a great twist, all said. It was all designed to make things fucking crazy without making it all seem like a titanic asspull, and it pulled that off masterfully.
