Gang War, Underhive, Loadouts/builds, your WIP

Necromunda Thread

I'm amazed at the lack of excitement for this incredible game. IMHO, the best game ever released by GW, can we at least try to stomach some of the changes?

Anyways, I'm looking at assembling the big box and I was trying to figure out what I wanted to do for loadouts on each gang respectively. Haven't done any serious playtesting aside from with a few friends on Underhive has anyone got a feel for some of the better loadouts/builds?

Ever heard of Gang War?

Desperate need of an FAQ and Errata. Other than that, the skies the limit. Great models, great concept. The more models released and the more options the given the better. I guess in February the Orlocks are being released, more game tiles, gang war 2. March we will see a White Dwarf gang ruleset for genestealer cults, or chaos cults, or bounty hunter gangs. Some such shit. I guess in February, Forgeworld is also supposed to be releasing resin gang upgrade sprues for the Eschers and Golaiths. I guess it expands on their respective gang armory options and gives us things that the current sprues sorely lack, like fucking chainswords and arms with stubguns, combat knives and the like. I'm really really these next couple of months revive the game. Because like others have stated, the game feels dead on arrival, so little support shows so little faith on GW's part. It's insane, people have been asking for this shit for years, ya know?

>I'm amazed at the lack of excitement for this incredible game.

it's half done shite, i'll wait until the rest of the gangs have been released.

It's a fun little game. Don't have the scenery to play full 3D, so I'm thankful for the beginner version. I'm still in the middle of building my 3D table, so I can wait for more gangs.

>Needing an extra supplement on day 1 to play the game as intended.
How could I forget.

I was irritated by that of course but the game's still the fucking tits, stop sniveling and buy it.

not the guy you're replying to but it really isn't the tits. I think it's pretty terrible and there are loads of skirmish games and supplements people have made for the original Necromundo over the years that blow this outta the fuckin water.

Unfortunately all these things don't have the backing that GW can lend. It's sad they couldn't have at least let one game fall into the hands of the community by being based off of these community driven/created supplements but at least we have a unified front now. As more and more people see these games being played at their LGS (in 3D format) I believe it will sell itself. And when the new supplements are released people will be hungry for the new content. This is my POSSIBLY over-enthusiastic opinion.

I was real enthused when GW first announced they were gonna do support for their old specialist games and was mildly excited over the new models too. I feel like it's just ending up being a lazy attempt.
The last time they released actual good specialist games was when they redid Space Hulk and that thing with the Warhammer Fantasy ships which were great, but now I have pretty low expectations.
Also I feel that we aren't even gonna get anything new for Battlefleet Gothic, they probably consider the extra effort they're putting into the PC game of it the specialist game at this point. Would love to at least have new plastic models for it.

If you enjoy Necromunda this much man I highly suggest looking online for some fan-made ruleset additions or otherwise things similar. I've found fantastic things over the years, although you may have to do some digging through blogs.

Everyone I know said they would play it in about a year when it's a complete product. I've never even heard of someone getting a game in yet in the area even though everyone was excited.

I'm going to be using a Chem thrower and cry every time because I like the model

Because GW is retarded and thinks that trickle releasing a game based on numerous gangs was a good idea.

I went to my local game stores last weekend and both of them said they're waiting for at least two more official gangs to get released before they start campaigns.

It also doesn't help that the game is in desperate need of a FAQ/Errata.

I'd be ready to jump right into Necromunda, but I'm not interested in musclehead Goliaths or feminazi Eschers. This awful idea of releasing two gangs on launch and one every 4 months is the dumbest marketing decision GW could have possibly made. The release schedule should have at least been two more gangs in February and another two in May, at the bare latest, just to capture that initial hype window a little better.

Wholly agree.

The game, at face value, is damn near broken and unplayable. With a little thought and communication, it's actually very easy to house rule everything as the game should be (or just use a game master, which is the best solution).

Ever since the Chapterhouse lawsuit they refuse to release rules without miniatures because they're paranoid someone will swoop in and steal copyright. Nevermind that they had models 20 years ago so copyright is already established.

Fuck game masters. That's like forcing someone to be the bucket bitch in Final Fantasy:Crystal Chronicles.

>copyright already established
Doubt they would have missed that. There's clearly some other reason.

I suspect that the playtesters/focus groups/R&D were faced with an option of having to wait to play/sell the game (as in the case of a full launch) or play a neutered form of the game, and they chose the latter.

Can someone tell me how Krak Grenades work w/ and/or w/o a grenade launcher?

I see the rules do not indicate it uses a template and "demolition" description seems a bit vague to me. Someone was telling me that grenade launchers are the cat's ass but without the benefit of the stats of the krak grenade, the regular frag grenades seem lackluster on paper?

>how Krak Grenades work
>Roll to hit

>Roll to wound

Oh wow

> "demolition" description seems a bit vague to me

?????

>the regular frag grenades seem lackluster on paper?

Grenade are weapon that didn't eat up a slot, and frag grenade are the cheapest with no penalty to hit like Krak.
